1 star. Very disappointing experience. We arrived at the airport just before 9pm only to find the rental office closed, despite having a confirmed booking and we have added a flight number. We were left stranded and had no choice but to rent a car from another company at extra cost. To make matters worse, we were still charged by this company even though we could not collect the vehicle. Poor communication and terrible customer service. Would not recommend.

We are sorry to hear that you were unable to collect your vehicle; however, we would like to clarify the circumstances regarding your booking and our operating hours.
Our Sydney depot is an off-site location with set operating hours, and our complimentary shuttle service concludes at 8:40 PM (20 minutes prior to closing) to ensure all guests are processed before the site shuts. Your scheduled pick-up time was 7:30 PM, and as we received no notification that you were running late, the team closed the depot at the scheduled time.
Regarding the charges, your booking was made through a third-party broker. As such, Bargain Car Rentals did not take any payment from you directly; any funds you have been charged are held by the broker. You will need to contact them regarding their specific "no-show" or cancellation policies.

Disappointing
Arrived and the shuttle pick up is a 15 minute walk from the terminal. Long walk.
On arrival they gave me a MG car which I hadn’t booked saying it was an ‘upgrade’.
I said I didn’t want nor book a European car and that I wanted the car I booked and they said they didn’t have any. They said most of their fleet was MG’s and they’re not sure why the website said they had other brands of car.
After 2 days I worked out the car boot didn’t lock and was defective so I was essentially driving around with an unlocked car my entire rental I could have had my luggage easily stolen. Told the company. No one cared.
Dropped back to the airport - another 15 minute long walk back to the terminal.
Won’t use them again.

Thank you for your feedback. It's always good to identify where we can improve, and we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations.
It's unfortunate that the Shuttle Pick-Up area at Sydney Airport has moved recently. We're hoping they're just renovating the old pick-up area, as it was a much shorter walk.
Regarding the make and model of the vehicle, third party booking websites such as Economy Bookings, often show examples of relevant vehicles by saying "Kia Stonic or Similar". The 'Or Similar' section means that you're not booking a specific brand of car.
We're very sorry to hear about the issues you had with the vehicle's boot. A lot of our vehicles have a proximity sensor, so if the key fob is within a certain radius, it will automatically unlock the boot. If that was the case, we apologise that our team weren't able to inform you of this.
We do hope that we have a chance to show you a better calibre of service in the future.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The shuttle waited for us as we were running late from having to walk from the terminal. The process of picking up and dropping off the car was easy.

Great service
Great service with Jade. Pick up was seamless. A bit of a wait as it was a Saturday morning with lots of people that arrived from the airport. Jades professionalism with her service took away that waiting experience.
Van was in good condition and the drop off or return was straight forward and quick.

Shuttle service was terrible!
We weren't made aware of the $5 admin for for EACH toll until we picked up the car.
More unpleasant was when we dropped off the car at the Sydney Botany Rd branch. We were told before that the shuttle bus to the airport would run every 25 minutes. We waited for about ONE hour and had to remind the staff. So we were PRESSED for time to catch our flight. But what we also didn't expect was that we would be dropped off at the shuttle bus CARPARK between the terminals, which is a much further walk with our suitcases compared to being dropped off at the pick up point between the 2 Sydney domestic terminals. Another client was with us and she was also very unhappy, stressed and distraught (not to mention she was also pregnant with 2 large suitcases to lug along the whole way!).

While we do make the toll administration fee available in our terms and conditions I do apologise if that was not communicated to you leading up to your booking.
The shuttle service does run as an on demand service, so heading back to the airport from the depot we do need you to let the staff know you need that shuttle for them to get you going, if someone has advised you that runs on a timetable they would be incorrect.
Between when you collected your vehicle and when you returned the airport did get make changes to where they were wanting all rental companies to collect/drop off their customers, apologies that has made that trip back to the terminal further for you, we are working within the constraints that the airport itself has set for us as to where we can provide these services.
Feedback around these services is always passed along to the appropriate team to be actioned where possible.
Exceptional service
The car was great the staff was friendly especially the driver that drove us back to the airport. I realised that my prescription sunglasses had been left in the rental car and he called the office and they confirmed that it was there. He was kind enough to go back to the office picked them up and dropped off to us at the airport. He went above and beyond Thank you

Best and affordable car rental in Australia
I had a great experience with Bargain Car Rentals Australia from 24–26. The booking process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
This time I was given a very good, new hybrid Toyota Camry Hybrid, which was pleasant to drive and well equipped. The car was clean, comfortable, and reliable throughout the trip.
I really appreciated how the team ensured everything was sorted quickly and professionally. Pricing was also very reasonable. Overall, excellent customer service and a stress-free rental experience. I would definitely recommend them and use their service again.

My experience with Bargain Car Rentals was unsatisfactory, there was some tampering with the initial contract by the company. Communications from their legal team, John Young, did not resolve the issues raised. I do not consider the outcome to be satisfactory and would not engage this company again.

I booked my car over 2 months before travel, when I got to office it wasn't ready, waited 30 mins with anyone telling us what was going on.
When returning car same problem , no one told me where to put car, no one had a clue on what time the shuttle bus back to airport would be there, we stood outside with no one interested in checking. Finally someone came out and offered to drive us to airport. When we arrived at airport in the past they have dropped as straight out front the departure terminal...not this time they dropped us that's myself, wife, daughter and her 3 month old baby along with 3 bags and a baby car seat a good 400 metres from departure entrance ! at entrance to airport !we had to virtually run to make plane. Luckily we found a check-in person that rushed us through to make our plane just. I have always used you guys being that I'm from Tassie and support local but not again.

We got a lovely lady when we arrived even though we got in so late.
It was very hard to find were to get the shuttle from and we didn't realize it wasn't at the airport.
When we got the van it wasn't very clean at all.
