Very poor customer service my Manager

We came here Covent Gardens as a family of 4 for drinks before theatre. My daughter was exited and looked forward to the day as we were celebrating her 16th.

There was only one other couple in the bar.

As it was happy our i ordered 2 alcoholic cocktails and 2 non alcoholic cocktails by pointing to the ones I wanted on the menu.

When i went to collect and pay, the bar lady made all the cocktails with alcohol. After i explained what i ordered she made 2 non alcaholics ones for me. When paying for the drinks i asked what happens to the alcoholic drinks she made which i didnt pay for, she replied 'ill just out them on one side.' When she told the Manager, the Manager took the drinks to the other couple in the bar and gave them the free drinks. She did this even after I asked about the drinks.

This made us all feel very uncomfortable and not welcome at the bar. She was making a point, but we didnt do anything wrong.

A very bad expeience and poor customer service to say the least!

Went here on Tuesday 17th February and…

Went here on Tuesday 17th February and got a kraken rum and coke. I asked for a double and it tasted weak but drank it anyway. It was free poured. When getting the second drink I asked if it could be poured using a measuring cup and the lady advised they don’t do that there they count. Whilst standing next to two measuring cups, I told her legally it should be measured with a measuring cup and she still insisted no so we left. This is wrong under the weights and measures act. Such bad service.

Went to Be At One Nottingham and…

Went to Be At One Nottingham and ordered a glass of red wine which was clearly corked. I politely took it back and asked if it could be swapped, explaining that it smelt like sherry. I even asked the staff member to smell it, which she did — only to dismissively say, “Smells like red wine.”

The tone was patronising and unhelpful, and I left feeling like my concern was brushed off rather than addressed. For a place that prides itself on hospitality, I’d expect staff to take customer feedback seriously rather than making you feel like you’re being difficult.

No door policy

To Whom It May Concern,
Be At One – Birmingham

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the treatment my group received at your Birmingham venue on the evening of Saturday 5th July, at approximately 9:00 PM.

We were a group of four professional, sober, over-40s men, all looking forward to enjoying a relaxed evening. One member of our group, my cousin, entered the venue without issue. However, when my brother attempted to follow, he was refused entry on the grounds that he did not have physical ID. While he did not carry a hard copy, he presented a clear and valid image of his passport on his phone. Despite this, the door staff refused to accept it — even though it clearly showed his identity.

When we attempted to calmly question this decision, we were told that only physical ID would be accepted — a policy that, while perhaps enforceable, could have been communicated more respectfully.

I then attempted to enter the venue with my physical photo ID, simply to retrieve my cousin who was already inside. Surprisingly, I was denied entry on the grounds that “no single entries” were allowed — a confusing and inconsistent response given that my cousin had just been allowed in alone moments earlier. When I questioned this, the bouncer smirked and continued to dismiss us rudely.

What was more disturbing was the behavior of a woman whom we understood to be the manager. When we raised our concerns with her, she laughed at us and offered no explanation or assistance. This kind of mocking, unprofessional behavior from a member of management is wholly unacceptable.

Eventually, we were told that none of us would be allowed entry, without any legitimate justification. We were left feeling disrespected, discriminated against, and deeply disappointed by the staff’s unprofessionalism.

I urge you to review this incident, including any CCTV or bodycam footage from your door team that evening. At the very least, I would appreciate a formal response addressing:

Your policy on accepted forms of ID (including digital copies),

Clarification around the “no single entries” rule, and

An explanation for the behavior of both the bouncer and the manager on duty.

I hope this complaint is taken seriously. We expected a safe and welcoming environment but instead experienced inconsistency, rudeness, and what felt like discrimination.

I look forward to your response and a meaningful explanation.

Yours sincerely,
Mr. Puri

When you are 43 yrs old + can’t get into the bar without I.D but the doormen + doorwoman clearly have eyes and can see you are over 25 it’s an absolute p**s take. DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS VENUE EVER. Last time I will ever give this bar any money anywhere.

Just awful.

Went in to Castle Square bar, Brighton 17th June.
Only one other couple in. Two young women 'serving', talking at the bar. Made no effort to take an order at the table. Had to go to the bar and carry the cocktails back.
Cocktail made in a mixer with chunks of ice added. Served in a tumbler. Unbelievable.
Music so loud, conversation had to be shouted.
Appalling for anywhere let alone Brighton.. Have walked out of here once before. Will never patronise again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Booked a room for a private event. Had to wait for the room to be ready so our group were buying drinks downstairs while we waited. Now they are saying we didn’t spend enough and are refusing to pay our deposit back despite spending a considerable amount of money. They are now ignoring our emails. Avoid

We booked a private room with its own…

We booked a private room with its own bar for a Hen Do. On the night the room itself, drinks and staff were fine and we had a good night. However there was a lot of hanging about before being ' allowed' in as there was a discrepancy between the agreed times. The room was up a very steep flight of stairs - a bit treacherous after a few drinks and wearing heels so not ideal. Our disappointment was that despite meeting the required spend and there being no issues over damages or cancellation etc. our deposit was not returned. Despite giving adequate time and contacting the venue multiple times to resolve this issue we have still not got our deposit back leaving us literally hundreds of pounds out of pocket. Totally unacceptable and I would strongly advise not to use Be At One for private functions for this reason.

Private party room hire in Manchester

We hied a private room in the Be At One bar in Manchester in the Paloma room and had the most amazing night. Heidi was brilliant with our bookings and was quick to answer questions and help. Paulina was brilliant behind the bar and made our night run smoothly and tended to our every need. It was a great venue, really beautifully decorated and I would book again for sure. Everything was perfect.
