Helpful and quick to pay valid claims

Great service, had a tyre puncture on my rental, which I had to pay myself.
Bettersafe told me immediately their policy is covering, on return submited claim, completed and money received in a week. No issues, smooth process.

Second year with Bettersafe
This is my second year with Better safe. Fortunately, having rented cars abroad on 3 separate occasions, I have not had to claim so I cannot comment on that aspect of the policy or service.
However, I chose Bettersafe for the following reasons. Firstly, the policy wording is much-more straightforward than many competitors. The schedule is only 6 pages and is written clearly. Secondly, the cover levels, and cost, are comparable to most other providers including those shown on 'Which?' as Best Buys of Recommended Providers. In fact Which? incorrectly state that some events/parts of the vehicle are not covered, when in fact, they are. The only significant 'omission' in cover is that Personal Belongings are not covered. However, they are protected under our general Travel Insurance policy. This policy focusses on the 'car' not wider insurance risks. All good so far.

Very clear website and purchasing process, as well as excellent prices for good coverage. I bought a worldwide annual policy with included CDW and SLI cover. Of course the real test will be if I ever have to make a claim, but after reading the reviews I have no doubts that it would be similarly efficient.

A must have alongside any car hire booking
An excellent customer service and overall company with competitive prices. They are really responsive via email which helps hugely when navigating a claim.
I would never hire a car without their insurance which is so much cheaper them through car hire companies or brokers and much more reliable.

Great Savings On Car Hire Excess Protection
Continue to use BetterSafe to provide Excess Insurance when I hire cars several times during the year providing me peace of mind and great savings in not taking up the car hire company's insurance.
However, in latest renewal realised that schedule shows 10:00 to 23:59, rather than 10:00 to 10:00.
This should have been clear at time of renewal, hence 4 stars.
