Charged €88 for Returning Bike 35 Minutes ‘Late’ – Avoid
I rented a bike from BiciCare (Amsterdam) on August 4, 2025. I paid for two full days, which entitled me to keep it until August 6 at 10:00. I returned it on August 5 at 17:35, still within the paid period and opening hours. The clerk then charged me €88 (a €50 “late fee” + an extra day) for being 35 minutes “late.” No invoice was provided, and my formal complaint was ignored. This feels like a disproportionate, unfair penalty. Travelers, be careful.
