Poor customer service, and water and soft drinks on board are sold at extremely expensive prices in US Dollars, around 14 times the consumer prices. I gave it 2 stars just for the tour. The bad cust... See more

Still the best way to tour key sights in a short time

- They need to find a solution to sell tickets on buses. Bus driver wasn't friendly and didn't accept that we board unless we have tickets and no one was available to sell. I had to buy on-line later on.
- They need to extend the trip to Asian side.
+ I liked the idea of adding Arabic language.

Good

It was very nice and informative tour bus but there were some security concerns especially when the bus goes under the low bridge, like if someone is standing on upper floor of bus it can be very dangerous.

A great introduction to a complicated city.

The two day option is the way to go if your Istanbul stay is not too brief. First day Red, then Blue route surveys, then day 2, hop off at places of your particular interest. Ideas ! There are not too many designated stops, so man each stop with a comfortable booth, very clearly marked (can be seen at a distance) and keep the person informed (by mobile phone) on when the next Big Bus will arrive and seat availability, etc. The traffic jams in Istanbul are sometimes horrendous so the bus driver or conductor could phone ahead to report reason for non arrival at the next stop and possible time of arrival for waiting clients. Excellent way for students to improve their language skills while imparting knowledge about tourist sites as well as Big Bus updates. Keeping paying customers informed on what is happening is the name of the game.

Only ride

The ride gave us a vision of the most important points of interest of the city, but there was nobody from the company in the bus and the driver only spoke turkish so he was not helpful when we had some question.

Good! But needs some changes...

I liked these routes, but waiting time (30 min) is long and there are no timetables at stops - you don't know when next bus arrives - in just 2 min or you have to wait up to 29 min

1/2 day Istanbul walking tour

Guide was very good but many people on the tour were led to believe that skip the line / VIP entry was possible at the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. This was not the case. Very misleading. I even emailed directly and received confirmation that skip the line was included with the tour.

A Nice Way to See Istanbul in a day

I took the red bus and I think that if you have no time enough to know the entire city this is a nice way to get an idea Istanbul's vastity and to go to Asia too 😉 unfortunately there was too cold and windy to remain upstairs but that did not spoil the tour outcome.
The red tour is 2 hour long and stops just in front of Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque.
Just a note...if you are taking the bus at the Port stop (number 3) check on big bus web site what time is bus tour actually starting. I get off the cruise as soon as I could (7.30 a.m.) but the tour started one hour later .I didn't noticed that info.

Istanbul

I enjoyed the Big Bus Tour it is a very efficient way to see as much of the city as possible in a short amount of time. The tour that you could listen to through headsets was informative as well. The tour covered all the major attractions.

Big Bus in Istanbul was fine , did exactly what it said on the tin - gave us an "instant" tour of the city with lots of photo ops. we had limited time so Big Bus was ideal and at a very good value price.
