The National lobster deal definitely…

The National lobster deal definitely made my day at the Covent Garden branch today with my friend who has never been there before. Have been going there for their lobster for years as they are in my opinion the most delicious sweet tasting lobster without any adulteration, just clean mouth watering flavour. The only setback is that I prefer chunky chips rather than French fries.

The staff there were so welcoming as we just walk in. Was unable to book a table online. They were courteous and friendly and especially the manager, Anson whom we had a great conversation with. Will look forward to another deal. The current prices are way beyond what I used to pay in the past though I do expect some increase in the price but not that steep.

All round bad experience

One of the drinks had a fly at the bottom on the straw .
The food was cold the ribs was just fat! disgusting.
Waste of money . This was supposed to be a birthday treat, Don’t do it

aggressive bar tender

There was one specific bar tender with a very disgusting attitude extremely rude. A ⚫️ man with braids in his hair. He also brought his children to the venue to eat for free. Was disgusting and wouldn’t serve us seems extremely aggressive when asked to do his job

Canary Wharf big easy- wouldn’t recommend

I’m not one to write bad reviews on anyone and shame a company but this could warn others. honestly the first and last time I’ll be visiting this place. Firstly we got there we had to wait for tables which was understandable it looked busy. People were walking out and no one came to say anything if there was tables available or what was the update. The staff looked rude as hell, doesn’t look approachable. Anyway a lady who seemed to be a manager was only being nice. Anyways We ordered and we got our drinks, got a deal with the lobster and Prosecco and the drink was deadass flat, tasted like it been in the fridge for days and they just couldn’t be bothered to check if it’s drinkable or not. Moving on We got our starters and the portions were small for its prices. The starter were good ( prawns and tenders) Then after we were done with our starters we got our mains. The person who bought the food didn’t seem to acknowledge we had stuff from our starters to be taken away before handing the mains. there was no space at all and he handed it to my hand and left.and I had a question to ask about the food and he just vanished. We got it and it smelt ranked. No nice smell was tingling my nose. No heat no nice fragrance smell no sauce for the lobster . The person who took the order didn’t even asked if we had allergies and stuff which my friend did. No responsibility at all. They just dumped the food and forgot we ever exist,. Better feel lucky if they even look your direction. They forgot to bring my friends fries and mine was burnt cold and horrible. We started eating the lobster and it was not even hot , it was warm and seemed like they just reheated it and dashed it on the plate. It just wasn’t hitting right. Then only half way eating our mains through someone decided to collected the starter plates. Then I’m walking to the bar to ask what other cocktails can they do, and a jug of beer fell on a girl that was sitting at the bar and half the girl body and clothing was drenched in beer and all you see is the bar tenders walking by laughing and looking at the girl before they start drying her up and ask her she’s okay. They just laughed and just didn’t give one crap. at this point I was just too stunned to speak. Then after we finish we weren’t even full the portions were just awful for its prices. Way too much. After that no one checked on us , to even asked if we want desserts how was the food nothing . We had to look to pay. We could of just walked out and no one would even noticed. Tried to look for someone and they all seem like they didn’t even wanna be there and their faces were just unapproachable. We then get to paying and then I told the waiter to remove the fries. paid over a £100 something we didn’t enjoy. Imagine Nando’s beat them at this point. After an hour or so my stomach started to pain hopefully don’t get food poisoning from this place. We left no one said thank you ,good bye ,thank you for coming, nothing we left and it was the worse experience. Had to be looking for a quick McDonald’s to fill us up. wouldn’t really recommend this place to anyone if you have sensitive stomach like I do save your self.

Don't like being told how much to tip at 12.5%

Went to Big Easy at Bluewater yesterday. Despite claiming it sold crab no crab was on the menu. Had the surf and turf lobster and steak deal with a glass of lager. Very nice. Service didn't really come to much - our order was taken, our lagers delivered and our food put on table in front of us. Was therefore surprised to see included in the bill 12.5% service charge - amounting to £7.38. Generally tipping is 10% so the additional 2.5% seems a complete cheek and, tbh, charging service at all for a table of 2 when so little was done was rather a liberty. Will I go there again? On the basis of that no, I like to tip at my own discretion and at the amount I want to pay. Yes I know you can often just refuse to pay the tip but who wants to ruin their meal by then arguing over a tip?

Amazing service from start to finish! Definitely felt well looked after, the food was great and they did not skimp on the alcohol when it came to the luscious cocktail slushies!!!!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

We booked this table in advance for the express lunch as we do most Fridays as its usually a great place to come in our one-hour lunch break.
We arrived at the restaurant at 12:38pm, we had prepared what we all wanted to eat as we knew we was on a tight schedule. As soon as we arrived and was seated, we requested to order, nobody came to us and after 3 more times of asking eventually a lady came to serve us. We explained clearly that as we are on our lunch hour, we would like all food to come as soon as its ready if possible. After a while we noticed our slush cocktails sitting on the bar, a further 5 minutes had passed before our waitress went to get them and by the time, we had received them they had melted down. The time reached 1:05pm when we requested an update on our food as the tables around us that had ordered at the same time were already halfway through eating their food. After a further 5 minutes had passed one of my friends received what was supposed to be her main meal. As the mac and cheese is a regular meal, she gets she knew what to expect however, today the main came with no salad or chips as usual and instead in a bowl with not even any seasoning on top. We complained to another waiter in the restaurant, he took this food away and apologised.
The time had now reached 1:15pm when nobody had received their food, we requested another update, and we were told 2 minutes. The food slowly started to arrive, yet our lunch break was nearly over, we had to request takeaway boxes. We then had to ask 3 separate waiters for the bill until we were given this. Our waitress was very rude despite us not even receiving 2 meals and was shaking her head, kissing her teeth, and tutting at us. This is disgraceful and unacceptable customer service. After paying the bill the two meals we were yet to receive were given to us in takeaway boxes and we left the restaurant. After arriving back to our office, we realised that the two meals that were given to us by the restaurant were totally incorrect. We ordered a burger and chips and a lobster roll. We opened the boxes, and they were two steak and chips. Not only did we receive disgusting customer service, unable to eat at the restaurant we didn’t even have lunch at all.
We have been to big easy multiple times and have never received this service. We were planning to organise a large work event here but are now reconsidering the location due to the service
The incident today has shown very poorly of your staff and the service.

Booked through Toptable

Booked through Toptable, on arrival we’re told they no longer accept bookings through this app. The front of house women was incredibly rude and passive aggressive, she told us there were no tables available. Asked to speak to the manager, he found as a table. We ate, the food was ok. On leaving we noticed lots of more comfortable empty tables. Really disappointed.

The worst customer service I have EVER experienced.

Customer service here was the worst I have ever experienced.
We were booked in for 4pm. We thought we may struggle to be exactly on time. We called what we thought was the restaurant and got out through to Reservations. We asked two things:
1) would we be able to avail of the special fixed price deal that was available 12pm-4pm as we were booked in at 4pm. They said yes, no problem.
2) we were likely to be a few minutes late due to a previous appointment and then travelling across from The City. They said we have a 15 mins grace period. So checked that wouldn't affect the special deal. Again they said no problem.
Got to restaurant at 4:10pm. They took 10-15mins to seat us. We then asked for the fixed price deal, which they declined because it was after 4pm and outside of the 15 mins grace period!
Manager got involved. I advised my conversation with Reservation. They said that’s nothing to do with actual restaurant. He said he needed to check with the kitchen .. why?! Off he went and came back and said the kitchen couldn't accommodate. NOTE: The food on the special deal is exactly the same as the a la carte menu - exactly the same. What has this got to do with the kitchen. Manager was not interested in discussing. Instead he asked if we would prefer to leave and eat elsewhere!
Anyway, we ordered a la carte and we ordered drinks. Drinks came but we were missing a glass of coke. I went to the bar to speak to the waitress and ask for the glass of coke. The manager decided to get involved. He asked me not to come to the bar and be rude asking for the missing drink. Said he didn't like my attitude and told me I should be grateful to have a table in his restaurant. He then threatened that if I didn't go and sit down he would ask us to leave! Unbelievable customer service. He said he has 600 covers a day in here, it was stressful enough without customers having special requests.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Just don't bother. Shame because the food was excellent.

BigEasy Food was warm and portions were small

Bluewater premises - Food was luke warm at best. Flavours were low-average. portion size on the smaller size. Prices on the higher side. Main course doesn't even come with chips - these are £5 extra! To add insult to injury they automatically add 12.5% service charge irrespective of party size and so we were left with the embarrassing situation of saying we only wanted to pay 10% service. First and most probably last time for us which is a shame because we are all about steaks, grills and shrimps!

The service and brunch was absolutely awful. I would never recommend going for brunch. The service was slow and all the staff were rude and took no accountability. We would not recommend Big Easy in Covent Garden to anyone.

Large group in Kings Road

I went to the Kings Road location for my friend's birthday. We got there a bit early so we sat at the bar and had a few beers. We were in a large group but they got us all seated and once we'd ordered the food came out quickly.
I felt that the staff were polite and the food was great.
I'd definitely recommend this place to people!

Served the remnants of someone else’s plate! I ordered the half lobster with ribs, and Mac and cheese. When the plate arrived the half lobster had no meat in the body, and I asked the waitress why I had been served a lobster shell, she told me that’s how it comes as it’s done by weight, and I can still get some meat out of the claw. I asked her if that’s how the lobster should come and she confirmed you don’t get any meat in the body of the lobster 🤣. No utensils were served with the meal for the crab claw and It obviously looked like I had been given the remnants of someone else’s plate. To be taken for a fool by the staff telling me it’s standard practice to get a shell with no meat is utterly abhorrent! The mac and cheese was merely pasta with cheese sprinkled on top with a lot of butter, and the ribs were dry. I would not recommend this restaurant to any man nor their dogs!

Very disappointing experience

I’ve eaten at Big Easy at least 3 times before and have always had an enjoyable experience but Saturday was very different.

Firstly we were told that the cocktails menus were all being used so we couldn’t have one- but we could choose a cocktail and they’d just make it… I didn’t want to just choose a generic cocktail, I wanted to see the list and choose from there! The server said that they do loads more cocktails that’s on the menu and showed me on her ordering gadget- but it was just random names, no idea what they’re like or what’s in them. So I asked again for a cocktail menu and she went and found me one.

I tried to order a mixed cocktail slushy but she said she didn’t think they could do that- I’ve had them before there, which I told her but it started to get very complicated and she wasn’t sure how they’d do it so I just kept it simple and stuck for one flavour.

When the ‘cocktail’ came, the server (a different person) called it the same of the mocktail version, it was really tiny- much smaller than when ive had them there before but it tasted really nice. However, it was very clear to me and my friend who tried it, that there was absolutely no alcohol in it. I queried it and they went to ask at the bar but came back saying it was the right drink and did have alcohol in it… what can you do?! They said their slushy machine was broken so they had ‘improvised’. I’m assuming it was just crushed ice with lemonade in the end.

The food was good, though we never got the tap water we asked 3 times for. However, we asked for the dessert menu (it hadn’t been offered) and it came. We hadn’t chosen when our server came round so asked her to come back in a minute. She didn’t reappear so a little while later when she was cleaning the table behind us I asked her if we could order, then she told us the kitchen was closed! I queried it and reminded her that we had wanted desserts and were waiting to order. She said that she had tried to take our order but we hadn’t been ready, to which I reiterated that we had asked her to come back in a minute! I couldn’t believe it! No proper apology, no reduction on the bill, full service charge added… total incompetence. It’s put me right off Big Easy/ which is a shame. I’ll be writing to management, it was an expensive experience that was very very disappointing.

Went to big easy Canary Wharf and had the bottomless cocktails the service was terrible we had 3 drinks waited an hour for a second however the food was lovely and they also tried charging me for 2 cocktails I had already paid for at the bar I wouldn’t rush back!

Rotten food and bad customer service

Horrendous experience from start to finish. Crab claws smelt and tasted of ammonia and were mushy, lobster claw meat was black/green, drinks were forgotten about and the manager was useless and quite rude. I just hope none of us get food poisoning from what we did eat. Not sure how this place is still open to be honest but avoid at all costs if you value your health!
