Delicious anniversary lunch and fabulous service!

We had a delicious Anniversary lunch at The Big Easy in Covent Garden yesterday. The industrial setting was atmospheric and modern. We enjoyed the impeccable service provided by Kiki who was knowledgeable and delightful. She is a great ambassador for the restaurant with her warm personality. The food was sensational too. We had half a lobster each with bubbles and sweet potato chips and ended the meal with "Smores", a baked marshmallow dish floating in chocolate and with added ice cream. After finishing the meal with double espressos we left the restaurant, happy and replete. No hesitation in returning.

Four of us went for disastrous lunch

Four of us went for lunch. Three meal were served quite quickly, but the fourth one came 12 minutes later. As mine was served the lobster claw fell on the floor. The waiter actually asked if I wanted it. On my no he threw in bin, but never offered to replace. Still charged full price. Then we ordered coffees after 30 minutes we had to leave without our coffees whcih had been paid for. We got a refund for the coffees but not an apology. How can it take over 30 minutes to make 4 coffees. Would not revisit any of this chain again.

BigEasy in Chelsea - Thieves!!!

BigEasy in Chelsea overcharged me by £21 as they added another table's drinks to my bill.

I have emailed them, called (no one answered) and involved Resolver to try and get the refund of £21 but to date, I have not had a response.

They are thieves and I will not be eating there again or recommending them to anyone.

First and last visit to a Big Easy

First ever visit to a Big Easy and will never return. Booked the Bluewater restaurant for a bithday meal and was very disappointed. The calamari starter was extremely rubbery in texture, almost impossible to eat. The ribs were dry and only luke warm. The half lobster was also dry, overcooked and had no dressing or garlic butter which is standard with lobster in other restaurants. The slushy pina colada cocktail I ordered arrived with no slush at all. When I complained about this I was told the slush machine had only just been filled so had not generated any ice yet. Clearly these are not freshly made by the bar tender. Service was poor, took ages to try and get the staff's attention. Cost £125 for 2 people and was not worth even half of that money. I would not recommend Big Easy to anyone. The food quality needs serious improvement or they need to reduce their prices. I could've got a much higher standard of food and environment for that large amount of money. Extremely disappointing.

Canary Wharf - Awful service

The bar staff were awful. No customer service present. They all seemed unhappy to be at work. Same for staff serving the food. They all seemed like they had been forced to come to work.
The waitress was amazing and friendly. Total opposite to the rest of the staff.

Great food and Venue - Service lacking

Great food, incredible boozy brunch only problem is the service is not great. The staff are friendly and do their best but you can tell they clearly have way too many table to handle for one person so just expect to ask a few times to get what you want

I love Big easy... But!

I love Big easy.. keep coming back here and there all over London. We booked our reservation in advance 9PM at Convent Garden, therefore, the reception was not professional that they was not even check that we were waiting to be called in until I had to inform that we here in and waiting for our table (waited for 40 mins still no one to call us in- place was not busy, as I can see group of customers leaving and table are available inside, I can prove with the the staff that was not up to standard). A funny side is I can see empty tables and our table was ready as I walked around checked why no one call for us?
At 9:45pm I had enough off waiting and we are the only group left at the lobby so came in confront with the staff and she realise the mistake and so on...
Don't get me wrong, the food are good and the staff inside service are good, but the booking staff is poor at that place ( need to improve and welcome guess with a smile). I know is a long day but a smile won't hurt and will help finance the place..

Don't expect prompt service

We arrived just before our reservation time, there was a que and 1 person was taking each party to their tables,it took ages but this was only a taste of what was to be the theme of our visit to the restaurant.
We were a party of 12 and I and my daughter arrived before the others,we ordered a drink,it took about 30mins to get the drink and by this time the others in our party had arrived and ordered their drinks,my daughter had ordered a milkshake and was only told 30mins later than they didn't have that flavour and was asked to select 2 other options so that if they didn't have her second choice then hopefully they would have her third one, eventually she got her drink.
The commotion continued and waiting for drinks was a total mess, when I ordered a jug of lager later on in the hope that i wouldn't Need to then wait so long for my next pint, they bought over the smaller incorrect sized jug.
I cannot understand why they didn't just have more staff to make the dinning experience pleasant for the customers.
Very disappointing indeed and ontop of that they said we only had a 2hour time slot.
Joke!!

I will however say that my rump steak melted in my mouth,it was scrumptious but not so good that it could influence me to return again.

Avoid, or pay a mortgage to feel disappointed!

I went here for the first time two nights ago with my family visiting from America l go past this every night on the DLR on the way home from work and look at it thinking l cant wait to go there one day it looks so inviting.
It was insanely busy, & so loud, the tables are pushed together so closely there is nothing private or socially distanced about it. Every word of your conversation is heard by the people sitting at the tables either side of your table as they are literally sitting inches away. The place is dimly lit and the writing on the menu is so small and in a pale font it took me half of my life to be able to read with the help of my aunts super strong reading glasses to magnify the lettering! The food is overpriced and not so good as to justify the high price tag and the drinks are offensively over priced too. I mean almost £8 for a pint glass of coca cola that is really half a pint or equivalent to 1 can of coke with the amount of ice they put in is outrageous! None of us dared to order an alcoholic drink for fear we may have to apply for a bank loan to pay for them!
The chips at £5 per portion are served in one of those cone shaped silly metal plate buckets so they get to scrimp on the portion size there too, my portion had so many sharp edge bits in it with no potatoe inside it was disgraceful, literally 65% of my portion was sharp bits. l cant eat the sharp crunchy edge bits because they mess up my dental work and stab into my gums, so l put them all on my tray and called the staff member who turned out to be the manager over and said for £5 a portion I've counted 6 edible chips in here, the rest are edgebits this is not okay, which to be fair he was good about and immediately went and got me another portion for free.
The burger was nice but for the £20 price tag l expected it to be much bigger and more over the top American looking with loads of unnecesary but different tasting fillings inside like you see on those programs where they travel the US tasting the local food in steakhouse grills, bbq joints and burger resteraunts and one burger is big enough to feed 2 people. A Burgerking whopper is bigger and much more satisfying than what you get here. The sauces are a bottle of Hellmans Mayo, and Heinz tomatoe ketchup, no airs and graces there then! Silly me to expect a range of wonderful choices of smoked & pickled or sweet sauce flavours like they would have in the USA it is an American taste experience after all.
Our waitress was rude, missing in action most of the time, unhelpful and in a rush, we felt like we were more of an inconvenience to her than a paying customer, sorry that paying customers like us are the reason you have this job hun! I'm British so I'm used to bad/ rude service it barely registered with me but l was annoyed that my folks felt upset by her, they deserve much better being such friendly easy going people!
My family live in a tip culture, its normal to them to tip very generously everywhere they go, ive seen them leave £30 tips to attentive staff but this waitress upset them so much they didn't tip a penny and even suggested she be trained some more and readjust her attitude to her manager on the way out.
We left there feeling taken advantage of price wise, the food was okay but nothing special, service= zero stars, altogether a disappointing first and ONLY TIME experience. Sad!

Awful experience

Awful experience! I would not recommend to anyone.

Awful, slow, inattentive service, cold food, falsely advertised ribs, cocktails were watered down and tasteless.

I am so disappointed with the whole experience. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would!

Dreadful

Dreadful - Covent Garden branch.
Not enough staff they got our order wrong twice we waited over an hour for mains and when we spoke to front of house manager he was rude and called security over from the door to intimidate my partner who was nearly complaining about food and service - shocking rude and will NEVER GO BACK. Several other tables having bad experience while we were complaining too.
My partner then called head office to speak to ALBERTO SARDU who is the general manager who Sent an email to say that he was waiting to hear back from the general managers with regards to a full refund we never got a phone call a follow-up email or a refund on the 10th of June. We are still waiting to hear from you Alberto!
