Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. DO NOT COME HERE. I came here a few weeks ago with two other friends and received the worse service I have ever had.
Issues started even before we were seated. Due to covid we didn’t want to sit too close to other tables but the waitress tried to sit us right between another 2 tables (no spare seats or distance in between), so we asked to be seated elsewhere since there were many empty tables in the restaurant and the waitress gave us an awfully dirty look and said we need to provide her with a very good reason to change the table. When we told her the reason she started sighing and huffing at us before allowing us to change tables.
Once seated, we literally were only given 2 minutes to settle at the new table and look through the menu before the waitress came over again and insisted we placed our order. We asked for a few more minutes and again was given a really dirty look by the waitress.
When we placed our order and the food came, we were given no tools to eat the lobster with so we asked for some, but it took 25 minutes for the staff to bring the tools to the table despite us constantly chasing for this, by which time the lobster was cold already and we gave up on waiting and resorted to using our hands. Ended up having cuts on them from breaking open the shell forcefully. The tool came after we had finished eating! We had ordered 2 lobsters and was given one lobster cracker!
We gave up on having dessert as the service was already awful and we didn’t want our evening to be ruined anymore than it has. So asked for the bill. Again this took another 30 minutes and constant chasing for the bill. We asked several different waiters and waitresses who passed by to help, all of which either just brushed us off and said they will get someone else to help or will go and help us get the bill (but obviously didn’t) and some even looked at us and then completely ignored us and walked straight past our table. I thought the level of service was completely unacceptable.
After 30 minutes of being ignored by passing waitresses and waiters the bill had finally come. But as we were so disappointed with the level of service we experienced here and it had completely ruined our evening we asked for the service change (over £40) to be removed from the bill. The waitresses reaction could not have been worse! We received a 10 minute lecture from her on how the hospitality sector is struggling since covid and it’s very irresponsible for us not to pay. I fully understand how sectors have been struggling since covid and have paid more expensive service charge at restaurants before but that’s when we receive service from restaurants. Here, we received 0 service from them so I’m sorry, but we are not paying that amount of service charge when we were ignored by almost all staff at this restaurant!
After this 10 minute lecture of hers, we still insisted for her to remove the service charge so she very angrily took it off, but at the moment we were about to pay she sneakily added it back on! Luckily we spotted this before paying. When we asked why she done this she kept saying we should pay this and said we asked her to add it back when none of us asked her to. She done this another 2 times before processing the correct payment. Clearly trying to catch us off guard so we would accidentally pay her.
When payment was finally complete and we were getting up about to leave, the manager of the restaurant came by and asked us very nicely if everything was ok. We thought we’d offer him our feedback of the bad service received hoping he will take into account what’s happened and improve the experience for other people.
He was listening intently for about 10 seconds to us, but then the waitress who was serving us spoke very very loudly over us to talk to the manager about her time off. When the manager said to talk about it later she completely ignored this and continued talking over us and then walked off. Then the manager seemed to have started day dreaming by this point, and suddenly, without warning or saying anything like “give me a moment, I’ll be back later” completely ignored us as well and just walked off with no sign or intention of coming back! This is the worse service I have ever received at any restaurant. Even fast food restaurants have better service than this! I am very disappointed with this place and definitely will not be returning here.

Horrible restaurant
Horrible restaurant
This is my First time but it will also be my last time to thIs restaurant.
Food is okay but the service is terrible, I had to asked the waiter more than 3 times before they will provided me the tissues, wet wipes, order more drinks or even to get the bill. When I asked other waiters for help they will either ignored you and just walked away and pretended that they didn’t hear you. However when I finally got someone else attention I have been told to speak to my waiter called Marco which I had no idea who he was at the time, as I have not been informed when he took my orders. seriously I don’t normally give bad feedback on any restaurants but the customer service experienced it was so bad that I had to share my feedback. horrible restaurant. Never again!
Awful restaurant don’t bother!
Awful restaurant didn’t even get in!
Didn’t even get our table what we booked for 7pm in advance we walked in told to come back in 10 minutes we came back at 6:45 they said they had only seated people from half 5 so we had no choice it was a birthday meal booked and we couldn’t even get the table we booked
Never ever again ruined my day!

Visited Big Easy Westfield last Sunday, lovely venue, great atmosphere, nice food and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
It was my first time visiting Big Easy Canary Wharf
It was my first time visiting Big Easy Canary Wharf as part of my birthday celebration. Had such a wonderful time, The food was superb, mouth-watering, the chicken, ribs and prawns was cooked perfectly.. Our waiter Marco was so welcoming, excellent customer service. I would definitely give Marco 10/10 for his hospitality and service with a smile.. made our evening. looking forward to my next visit.
Do not do the bottomless brunch
Do not do the bottomless brunch, honestly it is an absolute joke! The waiters did not have a clue, waited 25 mins before we got to order a drink, even then we had to usher the waiter to come over. Told don’t get chips with the meal (menu states otherwise) drinks all came at different times. My food was cold. All the tables surrounding us were complaining, people were getting wrong dishes, table next to us waiter over 49 mins just to order a drink. Had to get the manager down. Got asked to leave our table (said our time was up, man was so rude) we explained we didn’t get served till 12:40 we sat down at 12:10. We still had time left. He was not having any of it and sent us upstairs to sit at the bar. The mojito was very very weak, and more ice then anything else. My friend ordered the bottomless bbq but literally only got what was on her plate. She was unable to order anything else. Honestly it was like a sketch show. The staff could see how unhappy we were like pretty much everyone else but didn’t see to care less. I gave feedback after but the manager just said he had spoke with staff and they have said otherwise. I said to check the cameras and I mentioned letting the CEO know because they are going to keep losing customers, he said go ahead and let him know. Poor customer service.

On Sunday we have visited Big Easy Westfield. We had a lovely meal there, great atmosphere too. Only waiters should be more attentive but as a new branch I think all was great. Definitely recommended.
Huge disappointment
My husband and I used to love going to Big Easy, but the standards have seriously gone down over the past couple of years. We went to the Covent Garden branch yesterday and, as soon as we were seated, I noticed that the table had been set with very dirty cutlery - you could see food bits stuck to it still, so I asked for a new set. Then, we ordered the loaded potato skins to start, and what we were given was shocking: two, small halves of potato that had been overcooked, with cheese that had not fully melted - for the price of £7.50! The mains were ok but took over 45 minutes to arrive. I went to the bathroom after eating and was appalled to see the state of the ladies' toilets. Every single stall was filthy, with urine around each toilet seat. The toilet roll was ON the bin for sanitary pads instead of in a dispenser, which is incredibly unhygienic. I really wanted to avoid using the toilet at that point, but as I am pregnant I had no other choice. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Terrible customer service from the CEO down
This is an email I sent to the CEO and the manager of The Big Easy Canary Wharf. Up to today, I haven’t even had an acknowledgment of receipt of this e.mail, never mind an answer. This is probably the worse customer care I have ever experienced anywhere
Good morning,
Please find below, a copy of the email I sent on Sunday 4th july.
As yet I haven’t receive a reply, or any acknowledgment that you even received it.
I would’ve imagined, just out of common courtesy, I would’ve received some sort of reply from you by now
Good Morning,
As a long standing customer of your restaurants (in fact I was at the soft opening of the above restaurant) I thought I needed to tell you about an absolutely dreadful experience at CW yesterday.
Excuse the long email, but a lot of unfortunate things occurred.
My partner and myself booked a table for lunch with my mother at CW for 15.45 on 3/07/21
I need to put a little flesh on the bones of this story, both my mother and I are in the critically extremely vulnerable category. We have been shielding for the most of the year, we always loved Big Easy, so it seemed the best place to go,for one of our rare ‘eating out ‘days
This turned out to be a big mistake, for the following reasons:
We arrived at 15.25 to be told we were 30mins late for our table and they would check if a table was still available. I said “in fact we’re 20mins early”the reply was “no, your table is booked for 15.15”
After a few minutes, they realised they had mixed us up with someone else, no problem, these things happen.
We were shown to the table and given 3 brunch menu’s, I said could we have the ordinary menus too. One was brought over, I said could we have one each please, then I said could we have the cocktail menu, again one was brought over. I didn’t realise the restaurant was rationing menu’s.
After ordering some cocktails, we asked for some water for the table. The waitress came back with 2 glasses, saying ‘she couldn’t find a jug’ So then I had to ask for another glass of water, after all there were 3 of us.
We ordered, 2 lobster meals and a mixed bbq, we were brought 2 lots of cutlery, I asked for another one and got an “oh yeah”. Then one lot of lobster utensils was put on the table,I again asked for another one.
I noticed the guy bringing our meal had his mask under his chin, therefore breathing over the food ( not great with everything that’s going on and mine and my mums ‘ condition’)
He actually pulled it up just as he approached our table.
He had 1 lobster meal and the bbq, I asked ‘was this the small or medium lobster’ his reply was ‘I don’t know’. I said ‘we’ve ordered 2’ he said ‘ I’m not sure which one this is’
I thought just put it down and when he brings the next one, we’ll be able to see which is which.
When we started to eat the lobster, parts of it were warm other parts stone cold, but all of it was extremely rubbery. We just decided to eat what we could then leave. There seemed no point whatsoever, bringing these problems up there and then, which is what I’d usually do.
The whole visit from beginning to end, just wasn’t enjoyable at all.
Nearly every encounter with the staff, seemed an effort on their part. No one was directly rude, but just appeared as if they really couldn’t be bothered.
Such a shame, we all used to really enjoy coming here and your Covent Garden restaurant.
Thank you for your attention
This was a restaurant I had visited many times and had many work gatherings too. In future I think I’ll spend my money, in restaurants that actually appreciate your custom
Rude staff
Booked a table a couple of weeks back at 19.00, wasn’t seated until 19.45. Waited a further 25 minutes to get someone attention. I asked her “Do you have a drinks menu” she said “yeah” with serious attitude. And walked away! Managed to get her attention a short while later and asked if I could have a drinks menu, and she eventually brought one. The food was slow, the drinks were slow, everything very average. The service is just terrible. Beyond terrible. Will never be going back unfortunately.
I’m not usually one to sit down and…
I’m not usually one to sit down and write reviews but I felt like I needed to this time.
My partner an I are regulars at Big Easy in Chelsea, before the lockdown we used to go at least a couple times a week. We love the food and the vibe.
Since the lockdown has lifted we have been 5/6 times and more than half of the times have been disappointing, our orders have came delayed and incorrectly.
But when I spoke to Gianluca about my experiences he went out of his way to invite my family and I back. If it wasn’t for his kind manner I wouldn’t of returned. But I’m glad i did!
On our return, Gianluca hosted our visit and I cannot express how greatful I am to have met him, the service was amazing. The best service I have experienced.
I cannot put into words how happy we were, I will continue to come just to see Gianluca.
The big easy team are very lucky to have him on board.
I would highly recommend!
HUGE disappointment
This restaurant looks amazing but is a big disappointment. Terrible service, we were left there to wait for an hour for our food and at end we just left without any update. An absolute waste of afternoon sitting on a table and waiting for an hour. Waitress nowhere to be found and looked like she had no idea how to do this job. One big wait for everything. Really one of the worst I have ever experienced.
Two reviews. One good and one bad.
One good (4*) and one bad (1*)
GOOD ONE :
I am not sure, where all those bad reviews about bad service are coming from. It is very popular and therefore busy place, so you should consider booking a table in advance instead of complaining about waiting for an hour. We booked our table few days ago and got the confirmation on email and the the call on the day, checking if we re still coming. On the doors didn't wait even a minute, were showing to our table straight away. Everyone was extremely polite and friendly. Our waitress was very helpful and we didn't have to look for her, she was always around.
Food was delicious :
Crispy calamari as a starter
Lobster bake with white wine sauce
Lobster roll
Could ve become one of my favourite places, if not...
BAD ONE :
Even though booked table in advance and asked for a table with 'the view', didn't get it, the place where we were allocated wasn't so bad, but our special dinner could have been better.
Can't be the place for every night dinner (for a medium paid person), as for the food mentioned above and couple glasses of wine paid almost £90
And the worst - despite food being delicious and I liked every single bite of it, I got crazy SICK after we left the place and have been sick for the whole night. I recon, mussels, what are the part of the lobster bake meal are the reason.
I got very upset, as I really did like the place and the food and service, and because of this I can't give the good review, Big and Easy deserves

The BigEasy - Covent Garden London - Total Let Down!!
Myself and my other half were on a London Break from 05/02/15 to 06/02/15 in which we read articles about this place making it sound like THE place to be and for its amazing food and atmosphere. So we decided to go check it out on our last day in London for lunch.
We were sat down in an over crammed area with small tables with hardly any room to move I mean you could tap elbows with the person sitting on the table next to you. Besides that we ordered our starters which were out on time and were very nice and the both of us really enjoyed it.
However when we placed our order for our starters we also ordered our main which we assumed would follow a short while after we had finished our starters. Unfortunately we did not receive our main and people who had been seated after us had already tucked in to theirs! An hour later and after I had enquired several times we were told by the waitress serving us that the food had been sent out to the wrong table and that they will bring our food as soon as possible and then when we did receive our food it was cold as if it had been plated and left at the side and just forgotten about!
I found this extremely unacceptable and voiced this to our waitress who didn't really seem to care and was too busy serving other people, so I asked for the bill and thought I’d try and speak to someone at the front desk as they may be able to help. So after I paid the bill I spoke to a gentleman at the front of house who also did not seem to care one bit and just glared at me. At this time we were running late as we had to head back and catch our train on time, but I was deeply unsatisfied and disappointed and would rather go to a standard fast food outlet rather than the Bog Easy and would never recommend them to anyone either
