April 2022 I joined Big gym for a flexible subscription, but unfortunately I had to move out of the city and I was not going to be able to go to the gym anymore. I was not aware that the only way to unsubscribe was to be done solely and exclusively through the application, so I sent two emails that I was not going to go to the gym anymore, since my contract was flexible, today December 18, 2024, they continue to bill me to the bank which I cancel. The debtors have already contacted me to claim it and I have sent my proof that I actually sent an email to the gym to cancel it in addition to my rental contract that I effectively moved, they will only continue to bill me but I am not going to pay anything, I will take legal matters later.

Pricing is misleading, staff was not very helpful but the range of equipment was decent.
Cancelled my membership through the BigGym app, thought all was well then without any prior contact received an email from a debt collection agency asking for €80. I was in the Netherlands for 3 months and payed for 3 months of gym membership. Customer service is useless won’t get anywhere with them. Hundreds of people being scammed in the reviews I would avoid BigGym at all costs.

I made a couple subscription for 2 years. . In 2 years we managed to go to the gym a maximum of 10 times because the plans changed and we couldn't get to the gym. We paid for 2 years without going to the gym, then when the subscription expired we went to close the subscription and did not sign any extension. A few months we receive a letter that we are being sued for the recovery of X amount. We call them (BIG GYM) and say that we closed on X date, why are we being sued when we do not benefit from their services. He explained to us in a miserable tone that there was an error in the system and the cancellation of the subscription was not registered, etc. and that we have to pay the amount that was collected as non-payment plus the closing amount. Of course we said we don't. Today I received another letter from that on Monday I will call the lawyer. I hope we can take them to court and get compensation for psychological distress and being forced to pay them X amount of money without us benefiting from their services. If you have problems with the system or if you have employees who don't know how to do their job well, don't throw this blame and responsibility on your customers. I think I was quite nice in that I also sent you an email with explanations and the monthly payments for those two years. But I see that BIG GYM has a miserable management.

They wanted me to pay an obscene amount of money to stop my subscription to the gym. The woman at the phone barely knew how to speak english and just started yelling at me and calling me names.
I was in Holland only for 2 weeks ,2 years ago and I had a membership.I am sure I cancelled it, before I left. I hadn’t seen my mails, because I have a new email address. Nobody called me to inform me. Anyways I paid 390€ in order to cancel my membership and 20€ for the online cancellation. And now I get an email that I have to pay until 2025? Can someone call me or explain me furthermore what is happening? I will not accept that, I have a new email, so it was you responsibility to inform me with another way. It was your obligation to inform me, in order not to be considered bad faith. 400 euros is not enough for you? I demand the immediate cancellation of my contract immediately.
Beware of biggym, they are very unprofessional and not helpful. I had 1 year together membership with my 14 year old son and I cancelled the membership 6 months ago and received the confirmation email. Couple days ago I learned that my son received an invoice from biggym saying that he has to pay for this membership. Then I called biggym and the lady told me we need to cancel everyone separately. Noone told me this when I cancelled my membership at the biggym alkmaar, otherwise, 6 months ago I would have cancelled my son's membership at the same time with my cancellation . Why would I cancel my membership and continue my son's (14-year-old) membership and ending up paying €37 for him instead of €27. This doesn't make sense. And I also think that I am the main person because I am adult and my son is under my membership.
Now today I have been told, the confirmation email I received says that I should cancel every membership separately. But I don't speak good Dutch and didn't understand the email. When I received the email that confirming the cancellation, I assume both membership cancelled.
Today I have been told, I can only cancel the membership through the app, and I did but it says I can choose 21 February as the earliest cancellation date, and before I pay january and february payment I am not able to cancel his membership. Because biggym didn't inform me well about the cancellation I don't think I should pay any money to biggym for January and February 2024 for a supposedly cancelled membership. In the Terms and Conditions says your child cannot get a membership when you don't sign the consent form but they became liable even when you end 1 year together membership as a main payer. This is ridiculous.

The gym itself is good and the team is really doing their best with what they're given from the head office, however, that is exactly where the problem lies. As said before in other reviews, they do not treat you as a human. It's like they're repeating the same script without there being any consideration of how you are feeling. "I hope this informed you well" instead of "I hope I was able to help". They speak like they themselves are robots and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. ALL e-mails are answered by either Jim or Kim, because that is the name they give customer service I've been told, this makes it way too easy to detach themselves from the situation. During COVID they make you pay and remove the "unsubscribing" option from their website, if you have a "samen" subscription, they'll keep charging you for two people EVEN if the other person quits without informing you (must be hell for recently divorced couples, which also happens too often in the complaints). The only thing they will actually help with is if it provides them the opportunity to criticize their employees who deal with these people face-to-face at one of the gyms. They hate their employees and they hate their customers even more. On top of that they advertise in the most near-illegal-but-not-fully way; workout for only 7,50 a month! Except, that is for the under-12 persons. They even put it on their bottles that they try to sell. The only upside is that the gym has a lot of equipment.
Be aware if you decided to end the membership with BigGym, you have to request written confirmation, preferably in your presence, so to guarantee you won't be scammed by their enormous invoices later. The person on the reception will act very friendly and will reassure you that all formalities are finalized, and nothing needs to be done from your side, but a year or two after you will receive a bill for a year or two. Thankfully, I have a legal cost insurance, and will hand over my case to the lawyers. Do not choose this gym if you have any other alternative options, and be aware of their dishonesty and poor customer service.

DO NOT APPLY FOR A JOB OR BECOME A MEMBER HERE!!!
I signed up for the Flexibel subscription with BigGym, believing I had the freedom to skip months based on what the representative told me. Basically, as the name of contract suggests and what I was told by one of the managers, it should've been pay-as-you-go contract. Ten months later, not only did I discover that I had been billed consistently without the ability to pause, but I was also contacted by a collection agency insisting that I owe payment. When I reached out to for clarification, they referred me to a contract that I had never been shown at the point of sale.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering a subscription with this company make sure to read the contract carefully and get any verbal promises in writing.
I was member sins 2015 and from last year I am trying to close my subscription.
According eith them I have to pay till. Next year on March.
I was paying them during the corona period to help them and this is how I get repaid.
Now I have to use a laywer to get ride of them.
Also they charge me twice in a month and they won't give me my money back they just put the money on account balance and force me to use them to buy products from their store.
Horrible people and this is stilling
I am going now to other gym jn Wormerveer... Way more friendly and professionals. I will never ever put my foot in that gym and always I will share my experience with others to not go there. Is just stilling what they do.
The gym is OK but app is horrible. I couldn't be able to choose city where I am now because of bugs. So I choose first one in the list, though I live so far from it. I used 1 jaar Daluren but I found a job and wanted to change it on 1 jaar Onbeperkt. I filled the form and it was seemed like OK but when I come to the gym enter wasn't successful, so guy on registration told me that I have to come to the gym where I am registered and proof the changing of new membership (i've never ever been in this city). Also, I got an email "Please find enclosed your concluded membership with BigGym Almelo. With the start of this membership your old membership is automatically cancelled." I don't understand what it means, where i can find my enclosed concluded membership and where I have to send it? On the next day you took my money like Daluren and I'm on a month can't train in the gym after 17:30 but in the app it is Onbeperkt. And of course I will not get my money back
