Aaron was a great guide and instructor. Also very observant. Looking forward to join more classes. Thanks and kind regards

The gym is OK but app is horrible
The gym is OK but app is horrible. I couldn't be able to choose city where I am now because of bugs. So I choose first one in the list, though I live so far from it. I used 1 jaar Daluren but I found a job and wanted to change it on 1 jaar Onbeperkt. I filled the form and it was seemed like OK but when I come to the gym enter wasn't successful, so guy on registration told me that I have to come to the gym where I am registered and proof the changing of new membership (i've never ever been in this city). Also, I got an email "Please find enclosed your concluded membership with BigGym Almelo. With the start of this membership your old membership is automatically cancelled." I don't understand what it means, where i can find my enclosed concluded membership and where I have to send it? On the next day you took my money like Daluren and I'm on a month can't train in the gym after 17:30 but in the app it is Onbeperkt. And of course I will not get my money back

horrible company
cancelled my subscription but still made me pay, absolutely useless.
Aggression and Intimidation
As I was doing a squat set, I noticed one of the "regular face Big Gym Trainers" filming his client right next to me.
Judging by the camera angle, I thought I might have ended up on the video and decided to approach the trainer to ask to clip me out if I ended up in the background. After all, I am someone who values her privacy and the importance of consent.
Immediately after I finished my request, he started barking at me, and informing me I wasn't good-looking "so why would he film me". He doesn't need me in his video.
Needless to say, I made my way to the reception to file a complaint, and seconds after, this trainer stormed over to the reception, stood max. 20cm away from my face held his phone under my nose and kept on saying I am not in the video.
However, by then, my problem was no longer the video, my problem was his aggressive demeanor, his sexist insults and intimidation.
The men sitting around the table to the right got out of their chairs to potentially pull him off me should he have stepped even further. I couldn't believe it, but I felt like I was in a fight scene between two mean about to start punching their faces in.
What makes it worse is that this trainer is a "top sporter" and coach in the Judo world. This should come with a certain code of conduct and level of self-control + professionalism.
I felt scared and intimidated, and will not be returning to this gym.
Unbelievable!

They never let you cancel
Terrible gym. Don’t join as they will never let you leave. Have tried for months to cancel my step sons membership but with no success. I had similar problems cancelling mine and my wife’s. They want me to cancel through the app which is impossible as he never had the app in the first place, he’s only been twice and both times reception let him in by taking his name. I have emailed them but they take days and days to reply, no one answers the phone when you ring. And whilst all this is going on, they continue to charge you even though you’ve told them you wish to cancel.
Useless people
Useless people , cancelled my subscription 2 years ago with their own staff. They still bill me today and refuse to pick up the calls and emails.
Fraudulent comapany
ongoing nightmare
This gym is indescribable -
No phone is answered for a whole year
Their two e-mails have no response, you will only receive a message that a ticket has been opened in their system. To date, I have not received a response to even one e-mail out of ten, and I understand that I am not alone. I will look into the possibility of a centralized claim for all customers who experience the same thing. My subscription ended on April 6, 2023.
They continue to debit the bank account and if I ask for a refund they threaten with a letter of a fine of up to 5000 euros simply with unbelievable bullying how does this gym run there is no one to turn to even the employees themselves at the gym claim that you can call
But in practice you do not answer!!!
I would like to stop the debit to my account (you still promised 4 weeks as a gift)
That didn't happen either, I understand that you can't stop a subscription that has already started, even so all your equipment is broken and squeaking
In addition, the date on which you are legally allowed to charge has passed because a year has passed!!!!
I would like to return to my email the email in which you remove my monthly charge
And I need to be refund for a 1 month , or we will meet in court.

Total scam - I hope you have a lawyer!
Total scam!
I joined BigGym in 2020 as an expat. I was told to pay in cash every month. I paid one month and the gyms shut down. When I contacted them to cancel my membership they said I was unable to cancel due to needing to pay two months minimum before cancelling! Well unfortunately all your gyms were shut so how was I meant to do this? Three years later and they are sending me bills for €1000+ claiming I never cancelled my membership. This whole gym is a massive scam as you can see from all the reviews and I hope that nobody ever has to deal with this horrific gym ever again! I am now seeking legal help against them which is something I didn’t think I would have to do for a gym I attended for less than a month!
Not open 24/7 and super inflexible regarding contracts
What I like, is that BG a big and spacious gym.
What I don’t like is that they are not open 24/7 like Basic Fit. I only have time to workout in the late hours, so I arrive around 21:30. Around 22:00 they already start cleaning up, which makes you feel like you are in the way, and rushed.
The other and most important thing I did NOT like is their complete inflexibility around contracts. I had a flexible contract because I wanted to try the gym out, and I hate being bound to long term contracts. They advertise it as “You pay for 4 weeks”, but in order to cancel you have to cancel 2 months in advance. So you basically pay for 8 weeks. I knew I was going to stop, so I tried cancelling, only to notice that I was 2 days late to avoid being charged for the next 4 weeks that I know I will not use. Yes, it was written in the contract, but you are dealing with humans here, not an automated system. Unfortunately my attempts to fix this issue was all in vain, because they stood their grounds that they cannot do anything. So their interest to charge me 35 euros was bigger than their will to keep me as a client.
For these reason I will not return to Big Gym.

this gym is a big joke I registered on…
this gym is a big joke I registered on the website and I signed the contract for only one month and I have proof of it then I went to the gym to ask if they accept mastercard they told me they don't accept it but during registration they accepted mastercard on the website and now they charge me every month despite that I have never been to the gym
BigGym refuses to cancel subscription. Had to get my lawyer involved
I had a Samen contract wih my sister. My sister wanted out. So she unsubscribed and let BigGym know that it had to be taken from a different account. Mine, as I was still subscribed. I went to one of the BigGym gyms and filled out a form with my IBAN.
After 2 or 3 months my sister messaged me to say that BigGym was still taking money from her account.
I emailed Big Gym and I asked them again to change the billing to my bank account. They said they would. A month later I get another message from my sister telling me that they were still trying to take money from her account. So I sent them another email and asked for confirmation that they changed the bank account to mine correctly, which they confirmed.
Fast forward 9 months, I also wanted to cancel my subscription and sent them an email asking to cancel the subscription. They answered with NO. Because in their eyes I've refused payment for the last year. As I had no idea what they were talking about I asked for more info. They said that I was cancelling the entries when they tried to withdraw money from my account, which is completely false. My SISTER cancelled the withdrawls from HER account as BigGym failed to change the bank details as requested multiple times. I had NEVER cancelled a payment. So I told them that exactly and they ended up sending some vague "proof" that I had cancelled the withdrawals. Next they said that they changed systems somewhere along the line so "it
was possible that the old IBAN was used" and that they sent me emails but they could see they didnt arrive. No phone call, no letter no nothing up to the point that I wanted to cancel my subscription. So now they want 200 euros + they are still taking money from my account every month. This all because they didn't have their affairs in order. I'm calling my lawyer this afternoon to get this settled.

UNFAIR CHARGES
This is in connection with Oliver Dyson.
We cancelled our joint membership during covid and paid the fees.
As the money was coming out of my partners account I was unaware that there was any issue. Turns out they ignored our termination and continued to take money out of his account. For years they have taken money from him and when he complains and cancels the charge they change their details so they can continue to take money. Finally they got the message and terminated his contract.
BUT now they have decided to put the charges onto me including the banks fees from Oliver.
I HAVE HAD NO CONTACT FROM THIS GYM IN YEARS!, as I cancelled the joint contract with Oliver a while ago.
I dont understand how they can start charging me for something that is quite obviously an admin error on there side, but on top of that charge me for bank fees that had nothing to do with me.
I dont understand how they can accept the termination of Oliver's contract but then chase me, its a JOINT MEMBERSHIP.
On top of that, they started sending me threats within the same month they sent me the 1st bill, saying they will charge 2,500!!!!
I am currently heavily pregnant with my 1st child and I am finding the whole thing stressful. Please BIG GYM just leave me alone, you have already taken enough money from my partner.

Cannot cancel, they still take money.
Joined the gym before COVID, it was too busy and service was poor so we tried to cancel in the gym.
Filled out all the forms, submitted. Money is still being taken.
Cancelled online and paid cancellation charge. Money still being taken out.
COVID happened and couldnt go. Stopped direct debit and refused further payments. Big Gym payment info changed so payment continues without me knowing all through COVID. Joined different gym for a year.
Found Big gym still taking money out. Cancelled and blocked direct debits twice. still occurs.
My partner gets threatening letters from them. We never had the app. only went maybe 10 times before COVID.
They have had so much money from me over the years. I just want to cacnel and stop the threatening emails.
Unsubscribing problem
I have been paying for a BigGym membership for the last two years since I couldn't cancel the subscription. It's so unclear how this can be done on their website, I guess the reason has been to ensure they keep charging every month which is completely unethical. I just unsubscribed today, and I'm hoping this finally goes through and they won't charge me for this month.

Membership impossible to cancel, false information
I started a one year membership with Big Gym Groningen on the 7th of July 2020, On July 22nd, I canceled my membership using formular online. The reason behind the cancellation was that I went back to my home country as there was no need to stay in the country as an international student during the Covid period.
Despite the cancellation made, Big Gym Company has been deducting money every month since July 2020.
1.) I have never used any of the gym services. These include sporting in the gym and receiving a card, lock, or safe. I have never paid any registration money necessary to use the services.
2.) I have requested membership termination multiple times in a legal manner. Firstly, using an online formular and then contacting customer service multiple times.
3.) Customer service was very slow and barely giving any information necessary about the possible outcomes (my customer rights and what would be the best thing to do)
I compromised to pay a membership fee for the first month in order to finalize the termination and ''pay the outstanding amount''. On their website it was stated that it is possible to cancel it in case of moving away.
4.) Even though I haven’t used any of their services and fulfilled the conditions to terminate my membership in a legal manner,
this Company has been deducting money since 2020 shamelessly. (imagine! even though it was a one year contract)
I do not recommend Big Gym to any new users because it is not a safe environment and it promotes scam behavior.

I have paid all my bills and my…
I have paid all my bills and my memberships are not being canceled! I do not recommend this sports club! I have encountered such a situation for the first time!
but no one from your administration helps me to disconnect from your program, I wrote a letter to your administration that I have paid all the bills, and they generate new bills for me even though I don't visit your sports club!
through your program it does not allow to cancel the registration, I am still waiting for the administration to handle my request. I will find reviews daily about you and your cheats!

Problems with membership, data safety and customer service
On the 21st of September 2021, I signed up for the membership in person and explained that I would be leaving the Netherlands on the 1st of December 2021 and only needed the membership for that period of time. I was assured by the administration that it was possible to sign up for a Flexible+ membership without any additional fees for that period and that the necessary arrangements had been made.
Upon my departure from the Netherlands on the 1st of December 2021, I confirmed with the gym administration that my membership would be cancelled. I was told that I would receive an email regarding the cancellation. However, more than one year later, in December of 2022, I received my first invoice for a monthly membership that had apparently remained active despite my absence from the country and my confirmation of its cancellation. I have no clue why I did not received any monthly invoices (despite having a monthly plan).
I have made several attempts to contact the gym to request a copy of my contract, payment details, and other relevant documents, as well as the name of the individual who signed me up for the contract and the terms and conditions and privacy policy that I signed at the start of my membership. I have also requested data about my attendance at the gym, including the last time I visited. However, my attempts to reach the gym by phone, email, and social media have been unsuccessful. When my Dutch partner called the gym on my behalf, they were unable to find any information about my membership and were reportedly rude and uncooperative.
I am deeply concerned about the lack of communication, the possibility of fraudulent activity, the safety of my personal data, and unauthorized payments. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with the requested information and address my concerns as soon as possible.
Also, if you have similar experiences using BigGym, please contact me via social media.

I couldn't go to the hall even once
I couldn't go to the hall even once. After online registration, they told me to wait in the room until they send a confirmation email. This was sent after more than a month, by which time my one-month contract had already expired and I could not train in the gym even once. That's why I didn't even know who was paying. I canceled the membership, but since then they have sent the request for payment every day. I sent them an e-mail, but they only say that you have to pay retroactively. But how can I pay if I haven't been able to train in the gym even once? in the meantime, I had to move out of the country. I want them to delete the whole thing and cut off all contact with them. Thanks.

Impossible to cancel the membership.
Around 3 years ago, I got a contract for a year, however due to personal reasons after 3-4 months I had to move away from the country. Therefore, I asked to stopped the contract because there is a clause that if you move further than 30 km to the closest gym it will be avoid. I told them many times, and I proved it with a document that they asked me. However, they told me that months which I had paid, I did not pay them. After these 3 years they do not stopped charging me every month. When they know that I am not in the Netherlands anymore, I tried to cancel it until today, and I paid every month I went with an additional amount of money to solve this issue. Nevertheless, until today there is nothing solved. Not cancelling a membership is illegal, charging to a credit card without consent is illegal. Abusive contracts are illegal. Never get a membership with this gym because it will cost you many headaches.

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Completely useless and barely acting within the legal boundaries. No phone number to contact, email replies take months.
I've been trying to cancel my membership for more than one year already since I moved away from the Netherlands. I sent an official, signed document to cancel my membership. Months later I get a response that it's not possible to cancel my membership due to outstanding payments (which I've compensated). BigGym continued charging my card so I told my bank to decline the SEPA. Of course now I continue having outstanding payments adding up. If they could just send me a letter with the outstanding amounts to be paid it could have solved the issue months ago.
Will get in touch with a lawyer as well to solve the case as CS is completely incapable of fixing the problem.
