Avoid this dealership completely.
I purchased a 2014 KTM 690 SMC R (registration FXZ5144) from them and within days discovered multiple serious faults that were either missed or deliberately not disclosed. I’ve since had the bike inspected by an official KTM dealership and received a repair invoice of over £1,000.
The issues included:
A rear brake that did not work whatsoever — it couldn’t even hold the bike on a slight incline
Fork seals leaking oil directly onto the front brake assembly
A loose headlight bulb that had fallen out of position inside the headlight unit
A faulty rear number plate/light assembly that required replacement
A lowering link fitted to the bike that was never disclosed in the advert
5-year-old tyres fitted to the bike despite it being sold as ready to ride
Around 10 loose bolts and multiple miscellaneous parts/items that needed replacing or properly securing
Even more concerning, the bike had apparently passed an MOT with a rear brake that was completely ineffective.
What makes this even worse is that the fork seals and oil had supposedly been replaced by Big Moto only a month earlier — and only because I specifically said I wouldn’t buy the bike unless the forks were serviced, as they felt terrible during viewing. Despite that work supposedly being carried out, the seals were already leaking badly again almost immediately.
The bike was collected from me yesterday, and unbelievably it’s already back up for sale on Auto Trader. The advert still does not disclose the lowering link or any of the faults identified on the bike. From the photos they’ve uploaded, you can clearly still see the loose headlight bulb sitting incorrectly inside the headlight — one of the exact faults KTM identified and quoted to repair.
That tells me the bike has simply been relisted without properly fixing the issues that made it unsafe and not as described in the first place.
What’s worrying is that almost every single person I’ve mentioned Big Moto to since buying the bike — whether staff in motorcycle gear shops, other dealers, or fellow riders — has immediately warned me about the condition of bikes they sell and the experiences they’ve had or heard about.
Sadly, this is also the second bad experience I’ve personally had with this dealership.
To top it all off, I’m now left out of pocket after paying for two brand new tyres, buying bike-specific accessories that are now non-returnable, and covering the cost of cancelling my insurance.
Extremely disappointed with the experience and the apparent lack of honesty and basic safety standards. I would strongly recommend anyone considering buying from them to get an independent inspection before handing over any money.

Fast and easy transaction. I entered all of my information, I received a quote within minutes. After I excepted the quote late on a Friday the bike was picked up the next business day. The other great thing is that I uploaded all of my info before the driver arrived. He inspected and verified the bike and the cash was in my bank account before the bike was even loaded. Had ellis as my guy who was taking care of the order for me, there was a delay with the current order but ellis sorted me out with getter a better option with the same price, was amazing with each time i spoke to him and gave 100% in getting me a reliable bike that was better then the original, will be using his services and only his going foward

I Viewed the bike the following day at Dudley branch. The staff were very helpful especially a mechanic called Gez who explained the preparation process to me.

Fantastic service from Clare, agreed the sale in the morning and the bike was ready for collection later that day. Not the usual for bikes to be ready so quickly but it was road ready and just required a new MOT. Can't thank you enough, love the bike. Thank you!
