Rushden Lakes Service was fine, albeit mid morning, but food overcooked, sausage was typical supermarket fodder. Why oh why do most cafés go for what I call sawdust sausages, I guess price, but I... See more

Disappointing and poorly handled experience at Bill’s Kingston upon Thames
Very disappointed with our recent visit to Bill’s in Kingston upon Thames. We showed the Unidays discount code to our server at the start of the meal, and she acknowledged it. The service was slow and felt unmotivated, even though we were celebrating two birthdays and two anniversaries.
When my elderly father-in-law paid, we noticed the discount hadn’t been applied. The server never mentioned we had to show the code again (which isn’t stated on Unidays). When I raised this with the manager, she was rude, unhelpful, and blamed us instead of resolving it.
She offered to recharge the meal and refund the original payment after five days, which was confusing as it meant my father-in-law would effectively pay twice, so we declined. As a “solution,” she offered us more coffees, even though we were already leaving.
What should have been a special family celebration turned into a frustrating experience. Would not recommend.
Kerry was an an amazing and kind…

1 star – Manager's consistent rudeness, despite apology from GM
We've had several disappointing visits to Bills Leeds due to one manager who consistently treats us with visible rudeness. On our latest visit, a simple question from my pregnant wife was met with a dismissive and hurtful response, leaving her visibly shaken. This wasn't an isolated event — it's been a repeated issue with this same individual.
To their credit, the general manager followed up with a sincere apology and a goodwill offer, which we appreciated. He also spoke with my wife and expressed genuine concern for her experience. However, the core issue remains: this manager’s pattern of disrespectful behavior hasn't been addressed in a way that makes us feel confident about returning.
The gesture from management was appreciated, but unfortunately, until we see accountability and improved culture at this location, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
This was in Leeds.
Great food
Such a great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere, fantastic staff very friendly and welcoming great value for money the food is amazing!!! Would highly recommend (Westfield London) will definitely go back
Great custome service - Clem at the Bill's Westfield Shepherd Bush
Clem at the Bill's Westfield Shepherds Bush branch was super friendly, helpful and courteous. Credit to his profession - a helpful waiter/waitress always makes the experience better.
Disappointed is an understatement!
Norwich - Tea was lukewarm warm, eggs were like bullets and food was only just warm. Toast had a funny taste. I was offered a new breakfast but would not have been able to eat it and if it was anything like the first one then I wouldn’t want to eat it again. They did take some some off the bill but it was not a good experience and I wouldn’t avoid it in the future- if I am paying £14.50 for a breakfast, I expect it to taste better than that - Wetherspoons would have been better, cheaper and probably warmer!
Never going to a Bill's restaurant…
Never going to a Bill's restaurant again. Went a few weeks ago to the Milton Keynes branch. Really long wait for orders to be taken and then extremely long wait for the adult starters to arrive. At this point the children were so hungry but thier food did not arrive u till much much later. Had to keep asking servers when the next meal was coming. Eventually left without the children having thier dessert as it just never arrived and we were fed up of waiting.
Then last week, decided to try Bill's again this time at the Birmingham branch. That was worse, coupled with a really rude server, we eventually asked to speak to a manager. And then once again the kids food did not turn up even though we asked for it to be served together with the adult starters due to our last experience. Just never again!
Don't go to the Farnham Branch on a busy day...
I have had reasonable meals at Bills before but last weeks at the Farnham branch was dreadful. It was crowded (half term) but there was no suggestion there would be a delay in our food. My husbands food arrived and 15 minutes later mine arrived because 'only the manager can handle gluten free meals'. They had forgotten my fries, which I have to admit were quickly brought to the table as a complementary extra. However my actual meal - poached eggs florentine with avocado was dreadful. The eggs were cold (probably because they had been waiting around for the manager to bring to the table) and weren't properly cooked. So not only was the white of the egg runny it was all completely cold. Disgusting. I should have complained but they were so busy I didn't have the heart. They also dropped my husbands toast on the floor and promised to replace it but it arrived as we were leaving.
Horrible service at bills Kingston
Horrible service at bills Kingston
I took my elderly mum for lunch today and the experience wasn’t good.
We booked a table at the Kingston branch for 345pm. When we arrived we were left standing at the “wait to be seated sign” for 15 minutes) nobody even came and greeted us. It was a very hot day and my mum had a walking stick being 84 years old you would have thought they would have offered us a seat but when the lady came over to us she said ok let me see and left us standing for another 10 minutes it was shocking because there were seats, but she just ignored us and continued taking orders. So it looked to us like the front of house was missing today. In the end I went inside and asked again can we sit there please pointing at a table, I was told ok. We ordered and the food came quickly but no drinks came
We asked for ice water and the water came half way through the meal and no ice just a jug
To top it off my mum ordered a chicken burger and asked the young waitress please could you ask the Cheif to cut it in 2 or 4 pieces because I’m partially sighting. Without even considering the request she said no and looked at me and said can’t she do that. Whenever we have visited Bills in Wimbledon this has never been an issue. I am very dissatisfied by the level of service received today we won’t be back
I dined at the Bill’s Farnham branch…
I dined at the Bill’s Farnham branch and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had for breakfast in my lifetime. The staff were friendly and It was my first time here however the food was overpriced and terrible quality. I ordered the vegetarian option which included the halloumi, eggs etc. The Halloumi was hard, the bread was stiff and came without butter and the eggs were terrible. The berry smoothie was extremely watery, small and cost me £5.75. All in all I spent £30 for this horrendous ordeal. I do NOT recommend, I repeat do NOT recommend. I came here after my friends wedding and a lot of us had the same experience
I want to pay cash very slow service
I want to pay cash very slow service, will not go back many friends will not as they want to pay cash.
Amazing
We took our lovely dog here for her first birthday. The staff were amazing and so accommodating - would highly reccomend the windsor restaurant for any dog owners.
Breakfast with excellent service
Booked breakfast at Cardiff city for me and 2 teens. Service was excellent, staff were approachable and the breakfast was lovely. Little bit pricey but you’ve got to treat yourself sometimes.
Staff alienating
We had a lovely meal and drink in the Canterbury branch food was amazing next to us a group of French people sat for a drink they were shown a table so no excuses they were not asked what they wanted to drink or order taken for 10 to 15 minutes in which time they eventually left with Canterbury being a high tourist area thought they would have no problem but was not a nice thing to see will think twice about eating there again embarrassing
I ate at Bill's in Street
I ate at Bill's in Street, but I would never eat there again, or recommend it to others.
I ordered the Sea Bass, which was incredibly salty, but I was hungry so ate it, although wishing I had chosen to eat next-door, or any another number of restaurants in the area.
When I came to pay, I offered a £20 note, and was only at this point told that they do not take cash, so I had no choice but to pay by credit card... I politely explained to the young waitress, who was very polite and pleasant, that it was not her fault but, the fish was incredibly salty, and she offered to pass this feedback to the Manager. The Manager came over and said that he wished I had informed them of this previously, and offered me a free beer, as compensation. I had already had tap water with my meal, which was refreshing on such a hot day, and besides this I do not drink alcohol. The overdose of salt in the fish did not help quench my thirst. The Manager offered me a free drink voucher, but once again, I could not see myself returning to this restaurant, so I declined this and left this with him.
Finally, I have checked, and wish I had stuck to my guns in relation to preferring to pay cash (or what is 'legal tender'), and have discovered, 'a restaurant cannot refuse a cash payment for a meal you have already eaten. While it's legal for businesses to refuse cash in general, once you've consumed the meal, a debt is created, and the restaurant is obligated to accept payment, including cash, for that debt.'
Awful food and they only take cards, when I went to pay and offered cash, they said it's their policy, My policy in future is not to go there....
Norwich restaurant experience
We ate at Norwich restaurant early evening, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, we’d booked a table, had specified a normal table, were offered a high top or a table upstairs by the toilets🤢.
Drinks arrived, can of beer put on the table alongside a glass, felt this was a bit of a basic service.
Food was good, although plonked on table with no offer of any condiments, we had to ask for them.
We felt the food was good, but a lack of good service..wouldn't hurry back.
Michael was ace
We had a booking today at 6:45 in the Brighton Bills and the guy who looked after us called Michael was exceptional. He was very calm and informative about all of the options available food wise, my brother has a food allergy and my partner is pregnant, and on top of all this it was for my mums birthday and he addressed all 3 of them in a professional way and his personality played a huge part in this as he was just sound at everything he did! A true asset to your team and you should be chuffed having in the workplace as a valued colleague. I hope this is able to get passed onto him or his team. :)
Tunbridge Wells Branch.
Tunbridge Wells Branch.
Lengthy waiting time. Seating was awful. Served steak as medium rare instead of medium well done.
Waited ages after sending it back. So, had to leave without eating as was attending a concert. Partner ate but I obviously didn’t. Ruined a birthday treat.
Never again.
I also noticed another customer had sent his food back. Chef and kitchen staff need managing. They were in and out the kitchen, chatting, not paying attention. Wouldn’t be so harsh if they had of been busy.
Fantastic again
Fantastic again
I've been here many times over the years and the service and quality of food has always been spot on.
The service is friendly and flawless and the food always tastes fresh.
Will definitely return and keep enjoying.
