From great to garbage

I was a loyal customer for years and even came back to them after they almost went into liquidation in ‘23. The orders last year started to get bad around summer time, with every order being sent later and later to the point that my box would only be sent if I emailed them asking where it was. It was rare that I received the actual customisation product I ordered and all the other products started to be the same each month (the leftover products as my box was always sent late). My December box still hasn’t been sent as they’ve admitted that they’re having major problems with their courier in UK. I requested a refund which was only acknowledged after complaining several times and after several weeks it still hasn’t arrived. I’ve had to request a chargeback from my bank instead.
I hate leaving bad reviews but this company is the worst I’ve ever dealt with and I felt I needed to write it to warn any other potential customers in UK before they sign up with them.

Taken payments and not delivering goods

Started my subscription again after having a break to use up all that had built up over a period of time. I started back and had a disaster getting the first box delivered and thought oh maybe just a blip, they have now taken further payments and the previous month box has not even been dispatched, which has also been paid for. No one is replying on emails, I've waited 5 weeks for a box that still is showing as not received by Evri for delivery. really disappointed in how this is all happening and gutted for them to be taking money and now delivering goods.

Absolutely awful experience with…

Absolutely awful experience with Birchbox. Over two months, not a single box ever arrived. Every time I chased it up, I was told it had “just shipped” — total lies. Nothing ever showed up. No communication, no refund, no accountability. I’ve cancelled my subscription and will never use them again. Save your money — this company is a joke.

Expired products, late shipping and possibly one box missing

I tried their 3-months subscription to receive their boxes. Someone at their warehouse accidentally recorded June's box as being sent twice, so guess what? July shoes as my "last box" even though August's is yet to be shipped. I contacted customer services numerous times about this and was told for over a month now their "engineers" are looking into it.
Items that were posted in the first box were unsealed and some smelled funny. So I looked them up via a cosmetics expiration site and found out some products were indeed expired. Two of the creams that smelled weird had about 2/3 of product in them, so I guess they've been used by someone else before they were sent to me.
It's near the end of June and no box yet.
What an absolute scam!

I purchased the coco & eve hair towel…

I purchased the coco & eve hair towel from Birchbox, received no confirmation email so got a bit worried when I looked on here afterwards however I spoke to a lovely lady on the online chat and she reassured me the order went through and sent me email confirmation. I then received my order within a week. I was expecting the worse but overall very happy with the experience!

Paid for Benefit Got A Sample Size Cheap Imitation

I bought their Porefessional Hydrate, never received any confirmation of my sale or any receipt. Then when it arrived, it was not even the right product and they had instead sent me a sample size of Balance Me Vitamin C Serum. It was old, bashed around with no use by date or way to verify if it was even safe to use...that cost me £14.95!!! The item came with no return address and no ability to contact the company so this is honestly a total scam and would avoid at all costs. I am reporting it to my credit card as fraud.

Just completely awful awful awful

Awful from start to... well not even finished yet.

Ordered 2 boxes on same day on an account for my mum and myself.

First box delivered within a reasonable time frame no issues... or so I thought.

Over 3 weeks later still no 2nd box... have to chase up customer service was polite and helpful but not the point I should have to chase for something I've paid for. Told oh will be shipped soon... Almost a week later have to chase again.

Finally! The box is delivered wonderful! I've got the advent calendar and monthly box I was waiting on but wait 2 boxes were delivered then but only one on the first order. I assumed the monthly box was inside the big box (I live abroad so had to have my parents check) and would you believe the monthly box is missing from the first order. Now having to be back in email communication to get the 2nd box and its probably not going to get sorted before Christmas so here I am ordering something the LAST WEEK OF NOVEMBER and still not had my ordered fulfilled.. will it ever be at this rate.

Did they not sent it thinking they could just ignore the issue and scam? Who knows. 100% DO NOT ORDER AND WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I ordered a loc liquid eye shadow and a box that contains the eye shadow as well
I recieved the eye shadow I ordered separately and the bottle was empty so i asked for another which would NOT be here in time now for me to use at the wedding and christmas
I recieved the box the day after and it wasn't sealed and guess what was missing from the box the eye shadow
Seriously birchbox my first time using you and the issues I have had are gobsmackingly abismal
Now they won't answer the help button messages or emails
I have since cancelled my subscription

Received old products and tarnished jewellery

I don't know what happened to Birchbox. It was my favourite subscription box before it disappeared. Then I randomly get an email the other day asking me to customise my box. Then another email with an apology and a code for a free subscription box.

The customise option was a choice of 4-5 items, all of which I had received from them years ago (pre 2020). I chose the jelly shot lip product.

My box turns up today and everything, except some conditioner, I had received from them 4+ years ago. I don't have anyway to access my original customisation options, but I swear some of these were on there.

I've looked up a couple of products. The jelly shot "it was only a kiss" is not available for purchase anywhere as new. The algologie item has been repackaged by the makers so I don't know how old that is.

I also received a bracelet that I recognised. A quick Google search shows these were given out as free gifts in 2016 and 2017. Now gifting out these bracelets isn't an issue unless you've already received it in the past, except mine has marks on it.

I have no idea if these products are safe to use as there's no way for me to know how old they actually are.

I got a card with a QR code to see what's in my box, except it doesn't show you. All it did was show me their 'monthly favourites'

I also had a look at the birchbox UK shop. They show items from 3+ years ago, some of which have been discontinued a long time, as coming soon.

A quick Google search shows that some people are receiving new boxes with new items, but that's not what I got. I don't know if they're birchbox US customers or if the "free" box was just a scam to clear out there website and get people stuck on a subscription they can't cancel. We will see but if they try and charge me for another box I will absolutely be contacting my bank.

Don't order from this company!!!
I have emailed them 3 times to cancel my order, because of these reviews,and because I DO NOT want a 'Subscription' either!!
And 3 times they have IGNORED me.
And taken my cash from my Bank account,and carried on as if they wasn't told!!
I will wait and to see if my order arrives! But judging by these reviews,I very much doubt it!!!
We shall see,and in the meantime,let's see if someone emails back

I would give zero stars if I could

I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered 3 weeks ago. No delivery. Evri confirmed they have not received parcel yet. Customer Service is a joke and is beyond difficult to get a refund! AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Terrible gifting experience

I ordered a subscription of three birchboxes for my best friends birthday. The first problem I had was before I had even ordered the box, I couldn't find a way to make the box a gift, I had to fill out all the information as if I was her and choosing the items in the box.
Once ordered, the delivery attempt for the April box was not until May and the box never actually arrived. I am unsure if this was an issue with Evri or Birchbox but they did resend it to a new address for me to avoid future Evri issues.
All the boxes have arrived late, which meant my friend did not get her first box until May when her birthday is mid April.
The boxes also no longer arrive in the beautiful boxes they used to. The reason I ordered the birchboxes is because in the past I'd had a great experience and have kept my boxes to this day, using them for different things, in my eyes the box is part of the gift. These boxes have arrived to my friend in boring plane packaging, that has been scuffed and bent in transit and are not great for keeping.
Finally, we received a box today which is for June, but I have not yet received the May box? I have had to email again them again to ask why the June box has arrived but not the May box!
It has been the most stressful gifting experience and I will not be ordering again, which is really sad because I had a great experience previously when the gift was bought for me a few years ago.

Subscribed again after a 3 year break . They don’t even provide the cute collectible boxes anymore . And I received the SAME samples I received 3 years ago . Super delayed delivery as well.

Do not trust this company!
Absolutely awful experience! I ordered my box on the 10th April and after several emails, they said that they sent a box on the 20th... But Evri never received it. I sent them yet another email and they said that the box was lost, so they promised to send another one. Today, it finally arrived and it's so underwhelming! Other companies offer full size products. This one has only samples. Here were the contents:
1. Cheap Chinese make up brushes in a plastic one use bag
2. An ugly small orange make up bag with a purple zipper
3. A 75ml body wash by Soaper Duper
4. A 20ml hair mask by Anika
5. A 4g lip balm by Arrow Boost

There's a card saying that there should be a Wunderkiss lip plumping gloss, but it was not in the package.

I'm absolutely disgusted and they won't let me cancel my following two boxes.

Not timely

I prepaid 3 months on Feb 11. I customized my box on February 11. I did not hear anything so I emailed the support team

On March 8 they finally sent a tracking email which indicates a label was created.

If you want disappointment, this is the company for you
