Do not sign up - can't cancel
Signs up for 3 months as a gift for my daughter. Continued to get boxes for 2 years with payment taken every quarter. So hard to cancel but finally received confirmation cancelled to then get a email to say you were delivering last month. Again it was cancelled and got a refund and low and behold u have done again this month - do not sign up

No box, no communication, to slow to fix
Given your business revolves around you being able to deliver products…you may want to consider actually doing that. Cancelling with refunds and clear communication would have been a far better experience that this!
Generic responses, no communication to keep customers informed, 10% of orders as a ‘sorry’ (would you be waiting a month for it to arrive I wonder?), I had to chase you.
This is not an essential service or product, you might want to start acting like you care if people unsubscribe…
Service has got so bad I've cancelled the subscription
Over the past few months birchbox has been later and later with the boxes, ive not recieved last months box. Since the website got 'updated' I've not been able to do anything on my account, I wanted to cancel. I contacted via Instagram and my message got left on seen and not replied too when I said I was going to cancel my direct debit. I have since done this and had 2 emails to update my payment, it's the 3rd of October. They are quick to chase the money when you cancel the direct debit but couldn't give a monkeys to actually do the services which people have paid for. I will be getting a glossybox subscription.

Not had my September birch box yet, emails saying they are working hard to sort it out, and they have had the cheek to now take my October subscription when I haven’t even had my September box, I will be cancelling my subscribe, very poor.
They just ignore you
Placed an order (not for the monthly boxes but some one off items) 08/09.
• 22/09 I sent an email asking where my parcel was as it had been two weeks and that i'd like to cancel because i no longer needed the items.
• Got a reply from Ben saying they had my order and it will be dispatched soon.
• I replied pointing out that in my last email i asked to cancel so can you go ahead and cancel please.
• No reply.
• 27/09 I sent another email asking AGAIN for them to confirm my order has been cancelled and refunded.
• Still no reply.
• 29/09 I sent another one saying ive had no reply, please can they do as I’m asking.
• Then 01/10 my order just arrives at my door. They send an email 03/10 saying yeah we've delivered it.
Honestly i am FUMING! they ignored me the best part of a month and had over a week to cancel my order but chose to ignore me and just send it.
I will be raising a complaint with the company directly.

Just cancelled my subscription
Just cancelled my subscription, have paid for a September box, not received anything and have been unable to log into my account despite numerous attempts via customer service. Have just had emails promising a link will be emailed then the support call is closed. Very annoyed that they can take money effectively for nothing.
Don't bother
Don't bother. Always blame technical issues which cause delays but never have any technical issues on taking your money funnily enough. If you want to be out of pocket and sent generic emails then sign up. Proof is in the poor cut and paste replies within these reviews. Going to swap to a glossy box.
This has been a sheit show!
I paid for the anual subscription, received one box and lost access to my account all together two months ago! The company is opening and closing tickets without any action or help. Nothing has been done to help me in any ways. I'm just receiving pre-write emails and that's all! I was a customer in the last year, and was back again in 2022 but I'm regretting deeply this decision. If you want my opinion, it's a NO GO all in!
Do not waist your money and time on this.

I have not received my box for 2 months now with no indication why. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and am appalled. I have emailed back and fourth requesting to cancel my box and they still have not!

Don’t go near this company. Following the issue below, BB sorted out my account access for just enough time for me to order the advent calendar. THEY KNEW FULL WELL THEY WERE GOING UNDER AND HAPPILY TOOK MY MONEY. They don’t answer any emails, calls, nor FB messenger. They have even stopped allowing comments on their page. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

I loved Birchbox. I still want to love Birchbox but the recent upgrade of their website has been horrendous. I’ve had an account for years, regular monthly boxes, regular shopper, always buy the advent etc, etc and never had an issue. As soon as the website changed I haven’t been able to log into my account because I need an activation email. I have been chasing Birchbox ever since and they are terrible at keeping in contact. I’ve had to chase again today. Birchbox- if you’re reading this. Yes, I’ve checked my junk folder. Yes, you are added to my whitelist. Please resolve this! While I can’t access my account I can’t use my discounts in the shop, I can’t choose my monthly box option and I can’t get on the waiting list for advent.
You continue to receive payment yet not providing me with the perks associated with my account. All I can do now is just cancel my direct debit. I really want to stay with Birchbox but this just sucks.

EDIT - sorted now, thanks very much to Sophia! I emailed a new ticket yesterday and I got a competent, consise and friendly response and resolution this morning. It seems to depend on who deals with your email, honestly. I do understand that during the website update there were more than a few kinks, but the response to people has lacked in most part from what I can tell.

Awful customer service.
Subbed at the end of July and was billed again on August 1st - both boxes were pending but showing the same contents. I messaged twice about it during the time between order and dispatch, and both representatives ensured me I'd definitely not get duplicate boxes.
I got them both at the same time on August 15th, and they were the se damn box.
The representative I contacted very graciously said I "could keep" the duplicate box I PAID FOR, and offered no resolution. When pressed, the rep said they were "passing it onto the technical team".
A little time passed, and I got fed up and asked for a refund for the box I didn't want. Funnily enough, the responses that were swift before, were non existent. I've heard nothing. I don't care which box is refunded. I got my first one at a discount - that one would do. Nobody is answering me.
Avoid.

Impossible to access my account to cancel
Impossible to access my account since the website "upgrade" and apparently I have to log in if I want to cancel an auto-renew option on my subscription. I've spent over an hour of my day today trying to access my account, speak (nicely and calmly) to customer service - via email of course since there's no phone number, yet they insist all I need to do is log in and cancel. Forgotten password link doesn't work, the emailed reactivation of my account doesn't work, the subsequent form I had to fill in online to re-request the reactivation email did not result in a new reactivation email coming through (yes I've checked my junk folder too). Impossible to access my account.
I've had to resort to contacting the credit card company they bill through in case I'm charged again - and will be submitting a chargeback claim if so. I've also sent a firm email setting out my desire to cancel the subscription, the date, and details of my difficulties accessing my account. At this point if they continue to charge me I don't think it can be anything other than theft!
Don't deal with this company! I used to love their products but it has really gone downhill recently, as mentioned in another review also.

Very poor customer service
Avoid this company I ordered a product on 28th July 2022 its now 08/08/22 still no item I have contacted there customer service five times via there website and also direct email I have had no replies to anything to find out what is going on.
So this is why they have 1 star will never use
again of recommend this company to anyone there is so many more much better
company's out there.
To answer to birhbox reply to my post here I had been contacting them for weeks email after email so still to this day 16th August I still have not had one reply and have now gone through PayPal to get a full refund because birhbox are useless in every aspect of customer service .
Also who ever this person from birchbox is that's sent this perthetic answer your just as bad as your company because your full of empty promises
Another update just to show you it's now 22nd August I still have had no answers to multiple emails sent to birhbox as this Tessa from birchbox promised someone will answer my emails still nothing so this just shows how much birchbox care about there customers all I can say to everyone that reads this please don't buy from birchbox because you will never get your items they will never answer emails but they are quite happy to take your money so avoid at all costs.
Update 26th August 2022 finally someone from there customer service has emailed me back after 1 month just saying sorry but it's out of stock we will arrange a refund within 7 to 10days absolute joke no compensation no voucher absolutely nothing seriously people Don't even bother with birch box they don't care and even when they do answer months later they still don't care.....Avoid AVOID AVOID

Cancelled my monthly subscription on…
Cancelled my monthly subscription on 6th July, had confirmation and an email asking if I could let them know why I’d cancelled. Also cancelled payment from my bank under Birchbox, however they have called another payment under Beautycom Uk Limited which has gone through. There is no number to call customer service and speak to anyone so all I can do is email again and request my bank block all payments to them under this new name. So frustrating!

I did cancel my subscription through my account giving you almost a months notice and was quite sure how your billing and cancellation of subscription should work thank you.
I have reached out to your lovely support team several times by email as that is the only option but only get a standard reply quoting a reference for my contact saying someone will be in touch!
It would be lovely if one of your lovely support team could actually address what is actually happening.
I have included all my details in all emails so perhaps someone could actually pick up a phone and call me that would indeed be lovely.
I did not receive a Birchbox for August so that must have been cancelled although the unauthorised payment was taken 14 days ago and has not been refunded and no explanation to date

Poor
Their website ‘upgrade’ meant I couldn’t log in and they have sent my most recent box to my old address despite sending the previous one to my new one. No response to support requests apart from an email suggesting I check out their new arrivals. I won’t. I’m a long time subscriber but seriously considering cancelling now.
