Good service but product not fit for purpose

The service provided by Birds was excellent. However, the product (Speero Alcor boots) were not waterproof as advertised. To their credit, Birds processed a refund very quickly, but it does make me wonder why they continue to sell a product that is not fit for purpose? Surely everyone who buys the boots has the same issue?
