Useless customer service

Customer service cannot provide any basic information on their own products claiming that's buyings advice. Firstly, why can't they give advice about their products? Secondly, diameter of an orbital sander is a basic parameter that should be easily available while their website don't provide such data. Neither does customer service. Shocking.

Another brand off the list - sad to see a once great brand reduced to the gutter.

Another brand off the list - will never buy from them again. Dreadful customer service. If you call their main number you reach one of the worst of the Philippine call centres. They either don't listen to what you ask you them, they go silent, or they disappear and won't end the call because they know if they do you will be directed to the satisfication survey where you will complain, so they keep the line open to prevent you from notifying Black and Decker how terrible they are.

Black and Decker provides the customer support number, but the staff say they do not answer queries on Black and Decker products!!

Black and Decker has lost its way.

My wife ordered a black and decker…

My wife ordered a black and decker workmate for my birthday. On assembling it I discovered that there was an incorrect item , after spending two hours assembling.
I contacted there customer service department.
They were totally uninterested & unhelpful.
All they said was return to your supplier, Amazon !
I explained that I was disabled and it would be to bulky for my wife to take to the post office , totally uninterested and basically not there problem .
Will never use them again .

Don’t fill out a survey until you have a result

Don’t be mislead by giving a review before your complaint has been sorted!!
I made that mistake after I had called there help line and had a very pleasant conversation, but that was all it was!
They will find any excuse not to honour there warranty,
Black and decker is now just a very very sad reminder of how a good, reliable, trustworthy British manufacturer has degraded itself into being just another importer with no moral or quality standards, of cheap nasty work once rubbish. STAY AWAY!!!

Waste of money. Vacuum lasted for 2months

Waste of money. We bought their cordless vacuum cleaner. The original vacuum lasted for 2 months and broke down. We reached out to their support who surprisingly replaced it quite quick. So we were impressed with the service and hoped that it was just a faulty product. However, 8 months have passed and our replacement vacuum stopped working. This time the service team claimed that they can't replace but they can look at it and fix it. We are responsible to figure out how to pack it back to them. No one has asked if we will be able to pack it in the box. It's like I keep huge boxes all over my house.

Honestly, just be smarter and go buy a henry or Dyson. Even we will get ours fixed how long this one will last? Not worth the time trying to sort this out.

Black & Decker vacuum cleaner is not fit for purpose.

I am very disappointed with my Black & Decker vacuum cleaner, model no. BHFEA18D1. It worked well for a few weeks, but now it hardly sucks up any dust. When it does, it just collects on the brush, to be dumped a few seconds later. The brush falls out and jams. The dust case is empty, the filter is clean. The suction tube is clean. It is not fit for purpose! It was £199, reduced to £100. Daylight robbery!

Stanley Fatmax cordless DRill DON'T BUY

Purchased a Stanley Fatmax cordless drill with 2 batteries on 03.05.2023. Got home and tried to use my product few days later. Tried charging batteries and one battery was completely dead. Contacted Stanley and the only thing they could do is give me £20 for a £40 battery claiming that they can not just replace the said battery. After a long time on the phone I decided I could live with just one battery so took the £20.
I then registered the drill for the 3 year guarantee and used the drill 6 or 7 times. The 10mm drill bit is stuck in the chuck and I can't get it out.
I again spent 10 minutes on the phone to Stanley to be told this is not covered in the guarantee.
Absolutely ridiculous - poor quality products and poor customer service will never by Stanley or Black & Decker products again.

Buy a Black & Decker product at your peril!

At the end of May 2023, I bought a Black+Decker electric hedge trimmer model BEHTS501-GB as it had a long blade at 600mm, a 600W motor and stated it would cut stems up to 35mm.

I used it it 4 or 5 times until the last time on 23rd July 2023, it stopped cutting. The motor will run, but the blades do not move....I suspect a gearbox failure.

It comes with a 24 month warranty, so I contacted B+D customer services, which over time I found was an off-shore call centre and no matter which number you find online, they all lead here.
I completed the required claim form and submitted this with the supporting evidence, as required, on 25th July.

I waited until 1st August and as I had heard nothing, contacted the service team agent again. I was told that the exchange of product (a replacement) had been approved and either the new item would be delivered or I would be contacted by the UK Service team within 7 to 14 working days.
Long story short, I have waited (in which time I contacted the service call centre twice more) until the day after the time limit was up and I have received neither any form of contact nor a replacement machine.

Not only did this product fail, having been used for a mere 1.5 hours (accumulative time) but I have never been kept informed of progress. The only time I get any information is when I contact what I believe is an off-shore call-centre.

I have finally been given the email address of what I am told is the UK Service Team. I have complained and given notice that I reserve the right to take action to claim a refund if they do not fulfill their commitments. So far, no response, just an automated holding email giving yet another case number.

This pruduct has not delivered what they promised in the published description and I have experienced appalling customer service. The ladies at the call-centre are all very nice and polite, but apart from acting as the information taker or reading what they can see on their system, they are completely without authority.

Based on this experience, regardless if I am given a new tool, as they stated, or not, I cannot recommend this brand for product or service and I will never purchase any of their tools again.

So my advice is, look at other brands and definitely do your homework to see if you can deal with a UK based company in case anything does go wrong with it.

DON'T BUY A BLACK AND DECKER.bought a black and decker mower and…

I bought a black and decker mower and the flywheel that cools the motor broke. My machine was under 2 yrs old but I couldn't find my receipt. I searched for a replacement part which was just a cheap plastic wheel, but would have to buy the whole transmission costing more than I paid for a new mower.
I complained to customer service as the part was not sold separately but got nowhere.
DON'T BUY BLACK AND DECKER, THEY ARE RIP OFF MERCHANTS.

Not actually Black and Decker anymore

Not actually Black and Decker anymore - so suspend your fond memories of Grandad's drill being reliable etc. Now they allow Chinese companies to sell stuff with their name on it, RKW for example, Black and Decker do not support these products, so makes you wonder why they put their name on it. Its a marketing gimmick to take advantage of what was a strong credible brand.

Black and Decker cordless…

I have a Black and Decker cordless strimmer. The charger started smoking and burnt out. They sent me a replacement but that did the same thing. Finally I had to buy a third charger. I suggested that they should do a recall as this could cause a fire. No response from Black and Decker.

The Worst Customer Experience Ever!

I wish I had seen these reviews before making the mistake of buying another Black & Decker product. Their customer support Is the worst I have ever experienced!
I bought a Black and Decker Leaf Blower/Vacuum exactly one year ago (June 22) - directly from Black and Decker. It has a two year warranty. I used it twice during the winter of that year. I tried to use it again but the zip failed on the collection bag - it is a cheap, poor quality, nylon coil zip. It had unravelled from the fabric. I contacted support at Black and Decker and explained my problem very clearly - though it wasn't easy talking to someone whose English was poor. However, they accepted my explanation and I was assured it would be sorted out but, after 2 weeks and 15 emails (constantly asking for the same information/pictures/receipts to be sent in different formats etc) they suddenly came up with the excuse that the collection bag is a 'consumable product' and informed me I would have to purchase another or try to get it repaired (by a tailor) at my expense! At this point, a suspicious person would think it doesn't take two weeks to decide that this is a 'consumable' item. Had that really been the case, they could have told us straight away! I should point out that nowhere in the instruction book or the terms of the warranty does it state that the bag is a 'consumable item' or that any part is excluded from the warranty!
In one of their emails, they actually gave the part number of the item. When I clicked on it, it said 'no longer available' - and that certainly is the case,
wherever I look! I explained all this to customer support and asked how I could purchase this part if it isn't available! They initially gave me a link to a UK parts retailer but they pointed out that this item really is no longer available. I explained this to customer support but they just kept going around in circles telling me to 'search the internet for it'!
I have tried speaking to customer support in the UK - worse than useless. Clearly Black & Decker Customer Support discovered that they are out of stock and this part isn't being made anymore. Because of that, they are unable to honour the warranty so have tried to shift responsibility to me. We are left with a useless piece of equipment that has been used twice, is still under warranty but the parts aren't available!
I have asked to speak to a senior manager to discuss my concerns but they are the most defensive and unhelpful company I have ever dealt with. I am told by the team at Slough that customer support is actually based in the Philippines - and it shows! Lots of whinging, simpering apologies for their 'lack of training and inability to help me'. It is virtually impossible to get to speak to anyone at their head office in USA. There are was one corporate email address which I used to contact their head office - but received no response and, when I tried to contact them on it the following day - my email was bounced back! That says everything about this company, in my opinion! Buyer beware! We will never purchase another item branded DeWalt, Black & Decker or Stanley.

Rip off help line…

I bought a Black and Decker mower two years ago. It has plastic blades which you renew. They work fine but you do have to renew them. I had trouble identifying which blades to buy. So I contacted B&D told them of my problem and they put me over to another website that was going to charge me £1 fot that information. I will neve buy anything from Black and Decker again.
