New high pressure washer not working to start using
Bought a new high pressure washer, couldn;t get it to work.
Called B&D support line after being on hold for 10 minutes, the line cut off. Now started another call and still holding. The support line message says to try direct chat on the website: Online chat bot, can't recognise a non working equipment. Only option is to send an email.
I just can`t describe how bad B&D are !
Last year I bought a BCD700S 18v Lithium hammer drill driver which developed a seized up chuck. I contacted Argos and was referred to Black and Decker for replacement under guarantee.... BIG PROBLEM.. their Customer Service is non existent in the UK... no reply to emails, phone them and you get put through to a US call centre who say they will pass on my messages to UK B&D... joke.. no reply to these emails... use Live Chat... you get put through to the same US call centre who say they will pass the message to UK B&D.. again, no reply... and so it goes on.... This happened for over 6 weeks until I received a reply after about 20 emails. I was instructed to fill out a warranty claim form, attach the serial number sticker from the broken unit, and post it, along with a copy of the Argos receipt to B&D UK... job done?... nope... after a further 8 weeks of hearing nothing, I went through the process of trying to get a response from B&D. After some time I received an email from B&D US to say that it appeared that my documentation "had been lost in the post" (as if!), and could I resubmit it.... I could only submit the copy of the Argos receipt as i did not think for a moment that B&D could be so inept.. and I did not take a copy of the serial number sticker from the broken unit. Anyway, I submitted the copy of receipt a few weeks ago and heard nothing. This past week I have emailed and spoke to B&D US Live chat several times to ask for update... they say there is nothing they can do other than forward my messages, complaint, whatever this now is, to B&D UK.. if indeed they do exist ! Today I was forwarded a UK number to call (came from B&D US), who said it was the B&D UK warranty "team" (ha ha).. however it repeatedly rung once then hung up. I went back to B&D US Live Chat who denied they even had a number for the UK warranty team and said this was for customer services... which we all know now, is answered by B&D US.... it is now becoming a joke... when I complained to a B&D US Customer Services lady by phone, politely, how bad the service was, she hung up.... as I say in my review title....I just can`t describe how bad B&D are !.... the battle continues.
I purchased the Black and Decker KW750K…
I purchased the Black and Decker KW750K planer from my local hardware store (Threave Home and Hardware, Castle Douglas) in October 2019. The product came with a 2 year warranty. I have used the item only a couple of times, however, it developed a fault yesterday with the blade holder. The item is still within the guarantee period. I carefully read the manufacturers warranty and it clearly stated that the the item should be returned to the seller along with proof of purchase in order to claim on the guarantee. I returned the item to the store with my till receipt, only to be told "we only offer a 12 month guarantee, and we no longer sell that particular item". I pointed out what was written in the guarantee I received from Black and Decker when I purchased the item. Again, I was told there is nothing that the store would do. The store assistant then said he could not help me and suggested I contact Black and Decker directly.
The guarantee also states that it ensures "minimum inconvenience" to the customer when returning a product within the guarantee.
However, I found the response of the store staff greatly inconvenient as I now have to pursue this matter myself with Black and Decker.
I will be pursuing this matter with Black and Decker and hope that they can resolve the issue quickly and to my satisfaction.
No longer trustworthy
Bought a cordless mower 3 years ago. Despite moderate and correct use and charging, the batteries are now useless. They're about £75 EACH on Ebay. Rang B&D customer services; no answer, just a machine using COVID as an excuse. Found another number which went through to a foreign call centre; as it was "out of warranty" they didn't want to know, and didn't care that such expensive batteries lasted such a short time.
B&D used to be a reliable, trustworthy company. Now I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

I bought a black and decker lawnmower earlier this year I have complained several times even sent photos etc and have got absaloutly nowhere . I can only warn people never to buy from this company
Built in obsolescence
Dustbuster pivot- hardly used it- the batteries have gone and poor design means they can't be replaced, so it is landfill. :-( Won't buy B&D again.
Poor Quality and Unrelaible
I bought a 36v cordless B&D hedge trimmer 2 yrs and 23 days ago. After using it circa 15 times over that period the charger stopped working. B&D customer services not helpful but eventually said the the warranty had expired and nothing they could do. My point is the B&D products should be capable of a longer life. After I originally bought the B&D hedge trimmer, I mentioned to a friend who said I should have spoken to him first as he would never buy B&D as in his opinion the equipment is of poor quality and unreliable...wish I had now. I have concluded worth spending a little more for better quality and reliability.

Non-Existent Customer Support!
I have recently had an issue with my 18v pivot hand vacuum (it just automatically shuts down after a short use) so I tried contacting B&D support by phone then by email then by phone without any responses whatsoever. They did acknowledge the receipt of my email over 3 weeks ago but haven’t replied yet … They are blaming the delays on pandemic like unfortunately many weak companies do… Very disappointing

I bought a black & decker lawn mower back in may 2020, this year it blow up. Trying to get hold of black & decker is just about impossible, my rate is was one star but I fact black & decker you ain't worth that. I was sent a warranty exchange form I filled it in but am still waiting after two week and still nothing. I will never buy a black & decker item again. Appalling service
Appalling service. Impossible to get hold of them. My steam mop is under warranty and not working but I can’t get hold of them by phone or email. I will report them to trading standards
Contemptuous
Basically, my 90 year old father bought a new workbench which was lighter to replace his 40 year old one. Anyway, when I come to put it together, it has pieces missing. I contact black and decker (though they clearly don't want contacted as it is so difficult to find any details). Nothing. No apology, no customer service. I even offered to pay but have had no response. The clearly have contempt for the customer!! Never mind, with customer service like this they'll soon go out of business!
Hopeless instructions for portable AC
Just bought a Black & Decker BXAC40006GB portable Aircon. The instructions are absolutely hopeless. They are incomplete, the parts included don't match the instructions, and the instructions are as clear as mud! Nothing available online either. Very little additional effort would go a long way if the company cared about user experience.

I bought an electric mower through Argos
The plastic base split so i tried to contact them (B&D)
At first you go to a phone number on the Argos site that...should... get you through to Black and Decker.
After various "press button x" messages you get to a pre recorded message saying that the service is suspended due to Covid. Now this is May 2021 so B&D could have done something remarkably similar to 99% of other companies and got customer services working from home but that doesn't seem to have occurred to them
I then found an email to contact them on .
I got a case number ( 01079266 if anyone at B&D ever checks Trustpilot) and sent the email on May 28th and I'm still waiting and its now July 8th
By the way, I also found a "customer services" phone number. I'm trying it now. So far been on hold with some very repetitive music for 22minutes..Just abysmal service from a company that I thought were reputable 🤨

Nice products but trying to get hold of B&D for repairs is impossible i have left numerous amount of request for a call back, my warranty is nearly up and it has been nearly a year now and they have not got back with the service centre. they use Covid as an excuse.

We took our black and decker bemw461es lawnmower in for repair on the 30-4-2021 I was told a replacement was necessary. Repair centre says even they cant get hold of black and decker customer support and they also said they have lots of customers waiting for replacements. Black and decker do not answer the phone. Never buy their products ever again.

My STC1820P Strimmer developed problems. B&D were a little slow in their initial response but I have to say they were excellent in resolving the problem to my complete satisfaction.

We purchased a cordless vacuum
We purchased a cordless vacuum, to replace a very tiered Vax and wanted something a little easier for my disabled wife to use, failed after a month! Contacted B&D and completed warranty forms and told a replacement would be sent out and be with us within a week! Nothing! So we tired to chase it up! We have spent 4 weeks, sitting on hold for upto an hour each day, requested call backs, emailed, used Twitter and Facebook, contacted B&D USA to help and not a thing, until yesterday I got though! Replacement is being sent out and will be with us within a week!! Let’s hope it’s not a ground hog day situation!!
