Be aware if an ambulance is required.
As I have previously previewed,fortunately I have not had to claim on my insurance, but have been on holiday with a couple who unfortunately had to claim.
When an ambulance was called it took the injured person to a private hospital(unlike in the UK when an ambulance is called it takes you to an NHS hospital) however Blue Bear covered the claim as the patient was not allowed to be moved to a state run hospital.
This criteria is standard with all travel insurance company's,so be aware of this condition.

The Underwriters review rates annually, and where the claims experience suggests there has been a sufficient number of claims relating to a particular category of insurance, premiums are adjusted accordingly to reflect the risk involved. Subsequently premiums are either increased, decreased or remain unchanged.
The categories reviewed will relate to various age groups, destinations, sporting activities, trip durations, and other factors that may warrant particular circumstances being considered as a higher risk.

I've used Blue Bear for 3 years now
I've used Blue Bear for 3 years now, before through phone conversations. This time all on the computer which was very easy to follow.
Only downside was that some of the medical questions were a bit ambigjous, the system wouldn't accept 2 medications which worried me a little but as my husbands health is exactly the same as the last 2 years, when it was passed as not needing any extra fee, I guess all was okay.

Overall a very good experience setting up travel insurance with Bluebear, in particular the medical screening by phone was friendly and efficient. Calling the Sales team to clear up a few general questions was also professionally handled, although the line was somewhat distorted - the call handler sounded a bit like a 'fish in a tank' - maybe you can look into the technical side?
