Not worth it
I really wish I could say my experience with Bluegreen was worth it, but it has been a major let down. We were lured into a four-hour sales presentation with a gift card incentive and felt pressured about the financial terms. Despite being promised a low interest rate due to good credit, we were stuck with a 16% rate, faced unauthorized fees, and were pressured to pay $12,000 for an upgrade we couldn't afford. They do not take ‘no’ as an answer.
The points system is a nightmare to navigate, making it nearly impossible to book vacations at desired times. To make matters worse, the planner they provided only accounts for weekday stays when most attractions are closed. As retirees, we can no longer justify the rising maintenance fees for a service we've only used twice. We have invested $12,000 but still owe over $21,000, and we simply want to end this contract to eliminate the ongoing financial strain. Bluegreen doesn’t care though.
Misleading Sales claims and no follow up after complaint.
We purchased a Bluegreen timeshare in May 2024 after being told it would be a simple and flexible vacation option. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.
Booking has been difficult, with limited availability and unclear point requirements that were not explained accurately during the sales presentation. We have been unable to use the timeshare at all, yet the financial obligations continue.
Several important details were misrepresented. We were told we had 30 days to cancel, but later learned the legal rescission period was only 10 days. That was never clearly disclosed. We were also pressured to sign with the claim that the offer was only available that day. Additionally, we were led to believe most of the first year’s maintenance fees would be waived, when that only applied to part of the year.
After realizing these issues, we contacted Bluegreen multiple times requesting assistance with cancellation. Promised callbacks did not happen, and conversations led nowhere. After submitting a formal complaint, we expected follow-up, but they refuse to discuss th e issues with a reasonable solution. We were lied to and decieved on almost every area of this fraudulent deal. This experience began may 2024.
My: Promised Luxury, Delivered Frustration husband and I were drawn in by…
My husband and I were drawn in by promises of a top-tier vacation experience, luxury destinations, and easy booking. The sales pitch convinced us to sign up and even upgrade believing we’d have access to everything advertised.
The reality has been the opposite. Availability is nearly nonexistent, destination options are extremely limited, and booking a proper vacation feels impossible. Upgrading didn’t help. Each attempt to resolve issues has led to more pressure to attend additional presentations and sales pitches.
When we asked to cancel our ownership, we were told our only option was to “do nothing.” There’s no real solution, just constant upselling and frustration. We feel misled, pressured, and trapped in a contract that doesn’t deliver what was promised.
This has been exhausting and disappointing. We’re asking for a genuine way out. Bluegreen’s program may sound appealing in theory, but in practice, it’s a cycle of frustration with no real support or options for those misled.
No Exit, No Timeline, Just Silence
We reached out to Bluegreen in good faith, explained our situation clearly, and asked for help exiting an ownership that no longer works for us. What we received in return was a response that offered no real solution and no timeline just a reminder that if we stop paying, the account may eventually be terminated at some unknown point in the future.
After months of calls, letters, and waiting, this was labeled their “final communication.” No acknowledgment of the effort we’ve made. No explanation of where our request stands. No consideration of the financial and personal strain we explained in detail. Just a statement that there are “no new facts,” as if repeating our reality somehow makes it disappear.
What’s most frustrating is the contradiction. We were told during the sales process that there was flexibility and that there would be options if ownership no longer made sense. In reality, the only path presented is to keep paying indefinitely or let the account fall into delinquency and collections with no clear end in sight. This experience has felt less like customer service and more like being boxed into a corner and ignored until you give up.
If you’re considering Bluegreen, understand this: once you’re in, getting out is not a conversation, they simply stop having one.
Buyer Beware!!
My wife and I are absolutely disgusted with Bluegreen Vacations Club. We were foolish enough to sign two contracts with them, and after much struggle, they agreed to cancel one. However, they are now stonewalling us on the second contract! They are refusing to cancel it unless we pay an excessive cost—we're talking thousands of dollars. This is nothing more than predatory and unethical behavior. We held up our end of the agreement, but they are clearly operating in bad faith, trapping us in a contract we no longer want or can afford.
Do not trust this company. They will make it impossible to exit their agreements without crippling financial demands. Stay away and save yourselves the headache and the expense! AVOID!
Not so Free Vacation
To say we are frustrated with Bluegreen would be an understatement. We first heard about Bluegreen while in Bass Pro and were given a free night in Memphis. That is when the nightmare started. I felt pressured to make a quick decision. The salespeople included repeatedly changing offers repeatedly to encourage us to purchase. I also felt lied to about the lifetime commitment of the timeshare. We don’t want this anymore and they will not let us out of it. Beware of Bluegreen, and be careful in Bass Pro since they have a kiosk there.
Completed Presentation- Company Refused to Honor Written Incentives
This company does not honor its promises. I completed a required timeshare presentation and did not receive all of the gifts I was promised. Hilton Honors points were part of my incentive, and multiple staff members acknowledged this and assured me they would be added. They never were.
I followed up with multiple phone calls, wasting even more of my time, only to be told that I “should not have left” — despite their failure to deliver what was agreed upon. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic and completely unacceptable.
Do not leave until you have received every promised gift, and under no circumstances should anyone invest in a lifetime vacation package with a company that refuses to honor its own commitments.
We went to a Bluegreen sales…
We went to a Bluegreen sales presentation, and we were promised dining and fishing trips, as well as other attractive discounts. However, we were actually fed well laid lies. We have seen rising maintenance fees and it has been difficult to use the timeshare as we were led to believe. The information we received when we made the purchase did not show the actual value or how easy it would be to use.
The Bluegreen Representative Megan never called me back, and Representative Amanda was not helpful in addressing my concerns. Basically said there was nothing she could do.
We do not want to pass this burden to our children or grandchildren. Be careful when you go to timeshare meetings, they are likely not telling you the truth.

Bluegreen Vacations is Predatory—A Timeshare Owner’s Disaster
After being a Bluegreen Vacations owner for years, my ongoing experience with their "exit" process has been nothing short of a nightmare and, frankly, feels predatory.
Bluegreen has turned a personal tragedy into a financial trap. After nearly a year of trying to exit, they are presenting me with new, exorbitant fees that they know, given my recent closure of my business and loss of my pension, I cannot possibly afford. The process has been further compounded by confusing and contradictory information from various Bluegreen representatives. It feels like they are deliberately making the process impossible
I have filed complaints with the BBB, the Florida Attorney General, and the Federal Trade Commission. This is not an ethical business practice; it is a calculated, fraudulent attempt to profit from my financial devastation.
Warning to prospective buyers: This company has demonstrated a complete lack of humanity. Their "exit" process is a betrayal. I am trapped and heartbroken. Avoid at all costs.
Disappointed and overwhelmed
My husband and I have been with this company for 17 years now, and looking back, I truly wish we had never walked into that presentation. When we first signed up, the sales representatives we spoke with made everything sound so lovely, simple, and beautiful. They told us that booking vacations would be a breeze and that we would have all these wonderful memories and trips to take once we purchased. Well, the years have passed , and it has been anything but simple or lovely. Even when it was easier for us to get around, it felt like a constant battle just to find a place to stay. There were always problems or no availability, and we would end up frustrated, so we would just stay home. Now, things have taken a turn for the worse. My husband is dealing with significant health issues that make traveling very difficult. Life feels a bit heavy these days. We need every penny for medications, specialists, and overall health. The dues increase every year. It feels like we are throwing money away. We are also losing points because we can’t use them, and as a result we are losing the money we desperately need. It’s a terrible feeling to be tied to something that offers no help, only a financial strain and annual bills. We are tired, we are worried about our future, and we just want to be done with this. This ownership has become a burden we can no longer carry, and it breaks my heart that a company would continue to take from people in our position.
I’m leaving this review because my frustration level is high
I’m leaving this review because my most recent interaction with Bluegreen summed up exactly why I feel stuck and ignored. Omari with Bluegreen Vacations, He started out polite enough, but the tone changed quickly. He told me I was wrong to believe I could stop paying while trying to exit the ownership and compared my situation to abandoning a house. That comparison made no sense to me. A timeshare isn’t a house sitting empty. It’s constantly being used by other members. When I pointed that out, he went quiet for a moment.
He did admit that transferring the title back to Bluegreen was possible, but then said it could take years. After that, the conversation went downhill fast. I explained that I’ve called, written, and emailed multiple times asking for help getting released, only to eventually be told it would cost thousands of dollars. I also explained that I haven’t used this membership in over two years and that I believe the sale was misrepresented, with important details left out at the time of purchase.
My timeshare itself is already paid off. I am not paying anything further. All I have been asking for is a honest answer about how and when this ownership will actually end.
Instead of guidance or solutions, I get pressure, lectures, and vague timelines. If you’re considering Bluegreen, understand that when you need help on the way out, the support is not there and the conversations can feel more like blame than assistance.
Misled and Struggling with No Support
We were assured that what we were purchasing was not a timeshare, so we trusted Bluegreen during their sales meeting. We were rushed through a 100-page contract in just a few minutes and told that everything had already been explained to us. Based on that, we saw no reason to doubt them. To only later discover that cancellation was impossible and we were locked into a long-term financial obligation we never agreed to.
Bluegreen’s responses to our concerns have been vague and unhelpful. They claim their records support them, yet they’ve provided no proof. We were promised a simple, easy vacation process, but now we must contact them for every reservation. This ongoing lack of transparency has caused frustration, stress, and financial strain.
We should have the right to terminate this contract. Bluegreen’s practices have been deceptive, and they are not supporting their customers as promised. We hope others approach with caution.
Bluegreen’s “Solutions” Ignore the Real Problems
We are beyond frustrated with Bluegreen Vacations. Over the years, we have been subjected to high-pressure upgrades, misleading presentations, and promises that never materialized. From our 1999 Shore Crest purchase to our 2022 experience at The Fountains, every interaction left us more stressed and financially strained.
Recently, we spoke with Brentney Davis, and the so-called options of reselling, transferring the title, splitting contracts, deferring payments, or letting fees lapse completely ignore the real problems we face. These “solutions” simply push the burden back onto us while Bluegreen avoids responsibility.
Maintenance fees that were said to remain steady have skyrocketed, promised perks were meaningless, and booking frustrations made actual use of the timeshares nearly impossible. The financial strain has affected our household and our retirement plans.
We are not asking for more delays, sales pitches, or creative ways to pass the problem back to us. Bluegreen has shown a shocking lack of understanding and support, and their continued avoidance only adds to the stress.
Not what they promoted
This is not what they say when they sweetened your ear to buying it. They are really complicated to get a hold of and when you do they just have something else to say. They do NOT return your deposit even if you leave the room how you got it. We called several times to get our deposit back and they kept arguing they had return it when we told them we had not received anything and our bank could send them the evidence. They only said they're nothing we can do. Do not book with this people.
Difficulty Exiting Bluegreen Vacations
We have had a difficult relationship with Bluegreen Vacations. We have been trying to cancel our timeshares with them for a while now. They were willing to help with the ones we have fully paid for, but it has been like pulling teeth to get them to help with the last one that isn’t paid off. They don’t seem to want to be helpful, as we did have to jump through hoops before they gave us the option to pay to exit the other two contracts. This was frustrating, but it was at least a way out. All that said, Bluegreen poses as a reputable business that wants to give its owners the world. It just happens to be much smaller than they tell you. Be careful when buying into Bluegreen and make sure it's something you want to have for generations.
DO NOT BUY A BLUEGREEN VACATIONS TIMESHARE!!!
Absolutely Appalling and Extortionate Practices (1/5 Stars)
My wife and I have been trying to cancel our Bluegreen Vacations timeshare for well over a year now, and our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We were initially told that our contracts are binding for life and that our only recourse to get rid of it was to sell it ourselves.
The situation escalated this year with what we can only describe as extortion. In 2024, we were quoted over $35,000 to be released from the contract. This year, the number has somehow jumped to a staggering $60,000 for a property we cannot and do not use.
Bluegreen Vacations is preying on people and extorting massive sums of money to release them from contracts they can no longer afford or use. Their practices are unethical, and they need to be shut down. Save your money and your sanity.
A Nightmare of Deception and Financial Pressure
From the moment we walked in, we felt highly pressured to buy. We were sold on a grand idea that turned out to be all lies! We feel completely misled—the reality of the timeshare is nothing like what we were told.
The issues only compounded after the purchase. When we inquired about selling, the timeshare company (TS) had previously said they'd buy it back, but later claimed that was not an option. To make things worse, they charged us late fees and even locked us out of the timeshare system until we got the Maintenance Fees (MFs) current.
Speaking of MFs, they keep going up, now almost double what they started at. We were never told that the maintenance fees would increase so drastically. We also felt intense pressure that we HAD to upgrade just to be able to use the timeshare effectively.
Stay far away from this company. This has been a terrible, misleading, and expensive experience.
Nightmare of an experience
I seriously didn't think getting my timeshare cancelled would take so long. I thought it would be a lot quicker to get this taken care of. The Bluegreen people sold me a package that was supposedly no longer available; therefore, I would not have any benefits with using it, and so they used that to persuade me to buy a bigger package.
The first package I paid off before my first welcoming meeting to " show me" how to use my package, and instead told me that it would not be feasible to use alone, and that if I purchased an additional package would make either better. I would think that should warrant reimbursement for the first package.
I hate calling these people because they continue trying to talk me into something I do not want. They are thieves of the worst kind. Painting a picture and telling lies about their program so people will give them their hard-earned money or their retirement. This has been a nightmare, and I am so very tired of it all!
Bluegreen won't help you cancel
I’ve been trying for about a year now to cancel my Bluegreen timeshare, even though the mortgage has been paid off in full. Bluegreen keeps telling me there are no real options, and the only paths they offer involve paying thousands more just to walk away from something I don’t even use anymore.
The communication has been disappointing. I’ve reached out multiple times asking for help or at least some clear direction, but the responses are slow, inconsistent, and never actually address the problem. What we were promised when we purchased—flexibility, easy family trips, and manageable fees—turned out to be the complete opposite.
Instead, this ownership has been nothing but stress. The hidden costs, rising maintenance fees, and lack of support have made it feel impossible to get out. Bluegreen makes the process incredibly difficult, and their unwillingness to work with owners who are trying in good faith to exit is frustrating and unfair.
Trapped and Misled, Extremely Frustrating Experience
I am beyond frustrated with Bluegreen. Since purchasing my timeshare in October 2023, I’ve only managed one vacation, and it was nothing like what was promised. The resort I booked was changed at check-in, amenities were missing, and the experience felt misleading from the start.
Every interaction with their staff including Yayonna Caldwell, Germaine, Brentney Davis, and others has been exhausting. Calls go unanswered, emails are ignored, and I’ve been repeatedly misgendered despite correcting them multiple times. I’ve been given contradictory and irresponsible advice about cancellation, and no one seems accountable for the false promises made during the sales process.
The upselling, confusing paperwork, and lack of follow-through have caused unnecessary stress and financial strain. I feel trapped in a system designed to confuse and pressure customers rather than help them. I am now looking for ways to cancel my ownership and hope others can avoid the same nightmare.
