Quite a shocking start to our international flight to Brazil in Business Class due to the foul tempered nature of one of the check in staff at Bristol Airport. Couldn’t care less, dismissive and rude.... See more

I had a return flight cancelled by BMI and when I tried to claim this back using EC Regulation 261/2004 I've not heard a peep from BMI. They initially said they'd get back to me within 60 days, but it... See more

Flight cancelled last minute. Nobody seemed to care one bit. Their partner airport desk were very poor and just wanted to get rid of me rather than help me. The 'helpline' (I use that term loosely) wa... See more

I take issue with so-called 'budget' airlines because by the time you've added all the compulsory extras on, they're usually no cheaper than the full-service alternative. However, BMI Baby were the only airline to operate on the route so I begrudgingly booked with them.

Firstly the extras - £12 (£3 per person per leg) to pay by *DEBIT* card. I really begrudge this as I know that it only costs somewhere in the region of 30p to process a transaction. Strangely they manage to process the transaction for free if you're lucky enough to have an Electron card - peculiar as it costs the merchant roughly the same to process.

The cost for baggage in the hold was reasonable if a little on the high side but I accept that this does reflect the additional cost incurred by the airline.

The service at both airports was good - friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the same cannot be said on the aeroplane. On both legs the attitude of the staff seemed to be one of 'I'm doing you a favour by being here'. One member of staff made an announcement to the effect of 'If you need a hand lifting heavy bags into the lockers, don't ask because we an all-woman crew.' Not the level of service I would expect.

On a final note, the gin and tonic was terrible (and not cheap). Gin in plastic sachets not dissimilar to those you find at a service station with ketchup in.

Overall I will avoid at all costs. BA all the way.

I recently flew with bmi and was not impressed.

I found the extra charges ridiculous who is going to go on holiday without a suitcase huh, even if it is only one between two, so why is it classed as extra. It is a case of captive audiences. When I arrived it took several minutes for the blood to start circulation as the seats were so close together and uncomfortable to boot, the staff were snooty and unhelpful, next time I visit my friends in Toulouse I will drive, I will not be using bmi baby again.

good price ! on time pleasent !

one fault i found was the hand luggage that has to fit into there basket! i noticed there s was smaller than other airlines ! hence if it didnt fit in there basket you had to pay a surcharge ! i know i had to pay on the flight ! but saying that once i knew ajusted things on the way back ! But everythink else was excellent and i would use them again !

Jammy Planes, Great Prices

Used BMI baby a few times, not bad when your going away with mates to amsterdam (my case) but can be a bit of a tight squeeze on the plane (couldnt stand more than 2-3 hours on it), all in all great service and very good prices

I like my legs

Flights are competitive in price and go to all manner of destinations. The drawback in a lack of legroom on the plane. This may not matter to some, and I am not even tall, but if I suffer then many will find the experience very uncomfortable. However, the duration of many flights is not so great that I can't just ignore the throbbing pain in my legs, or the fear of developing DVT from a lack of blood circulation for a few hours. Anything to save a few quid!

Good steady service

Write why you found the experience good. For instance:

Everything went well. The item arrived one week after the promised date of delivery. Good customer service and the item is really good.

Comfortable flight, great seats, very efficient and - on time - !

Well, BA have managed to lose my luggage 3 times and Easyjet - well - I love them but they're definitely no frills arent they? So flying to Dublin last month with BMI was a real treat. Highly organised, great communication, seats which felt almost luxurious and the smoothest landings I've ever experienced! Will be booking again.

Not for a while

Have flown with these but not for a while, but they were excellent and very cheap to fly, mainly used them for mainland spain when my family had a villa, dirt cheap flights and good quality service to boot

Dreadful!

They're a cheap-flights company, so in one respect you get what you pay for. The baggage allowance is pretty low, though, and hold luggage costs extra (pay after check-in): it's costly at £25-£30 per bag.

The seats are cramped and pretty uncomfortable for anyone who doesn't have a small build. Even if you're a medium build, it might be worth requesting a seat by the emergency exit over the wings, as this has one seat removed in front of you, and can give anyone over 5ft8 valuable extra leg room.

BMIbaby flight to Lisboa

Flight was OK, the plane a tired 14 year old 737, but the way they pile on the costs!!! extra for just about everything, baggage, seats allocation, I was beginning to expect to pay extra to have cushions on the seats and fares on the bus from the terminal to the plane!. Pity its the only carrier from Manchester to Lisbon!, bring back competition!
