My husband, two friends and I joined 8 others plus 4 crew and tour guide par excellence Dionysis on the motorsailer ERATO. Wielding electric bikes all, we undulated through the stunning Saronic and Cyclades Islands off Athens. Charming, clean older boat, amazing meals, initiative and sincere good cheer among all aboard. Interesting destinations, Moderate to difficult terrain- a truly wonderful reset. Just enough aboard and ashore time. Def. Bring bike shorts, gloves. A swimsuit. Euros in cash for tips. Leave any mental baggage at home.

We were thinking the food would be just ok, but it was really good. The daily rides gave us different scenery each day which was beautiful. We were very lucky in that our weather was outstanding (chilly mornings, a lot of sun). Only the final day threatened rain, and had high winds, so that was a challenge, but ok. Tour guides were very friendly. Ship staff excellent. The bike paths in the Netherlands are outstanding. We will definitely do another tour with this company.

The crew and guide were exceptional in adapting and pivoting to weather and wind changes and always had our safety and best interests foremost in their mind. Food was was always fabulous and unique. We cycled, we hiked, we swam and we had a fabulous time. Highly recommend.

Boat bike holidays deliver again. Great combination of cycling, sight seeing and a floating hotel/restaurant. Crew were great on Estello especially Hugo our tour guide.

There are much cheaper and more reliable outfits out there. Do some research. This oufit is lacking in many ways.

Staff, routes, places of interest, bikes, accommodations, and the food!!

The trip itinerary was changed due to a waterway issue. Instead of canceling-or offering an alternative date-they chose to continue the trip which resulted in a) fewer days of riding; b) different routing, including two days of "new" routes; c) unprepared guides who did NOT know the routes-and took us onto some unsafe routes (steep cobblestone paths not intended for bikes, single track through the woods, gravel drainage ways under the highway), repeated routes (up and down the same street--3 times even, going around the same block), and generally boring routes (parking lots). The boat experience was good. Passengers were great. Bikes were good. Guides were nice. Immediately after being notified of the trip change, we asked for a refund of tickets for experiences we'd already purchased (that would go unused because of the trip change) and a partial refund of the bike rental fee since we rode fewer days than advertised. Initially, they promised our guides would have a form for us. When asked about the form, the guides said they didn't know what we were talking about. Since we've returned from the trip, Boat Bike Tours has ghosted us--refusing to even return multiple emails or respond to our requests. This was our second trip with Boat Bike Tours, but we will not be using them again, nor would we recommend them to others.
UPDATE: As of Nov 12th, despite having been promised the "check was in the mail', nothing has appeared and we've been ghosted. Again. Seems if everything goes right with your trip, people are extremely happy. But throw in a wrench, and all bets are off. Too bad.

The staff were fabulous. Food and accommodations met all of our expectations.
Biking equipment was well maintained.
Bike routes were easy enough to do self guided. Time on the bikes was reasonable- allowing time to stop and explore the areas. Riders were all shapes, sizes and ages and seem to manage well.
Changes to routes were well explained.

Having a excellent crew who provided a welcoming atmosphere.
Providing a social atmosphere where people from all different backgrounds can come together through cycling to build camaraderie and friendship.

The boat and cabins are lovely and very comfortable. Most of the staff are kind and helpful. The food available for lunch could use a bit more variety. The thing that would be helpful would be a detailed, printed itinerary for the entire trip. Not having all the detailed information (by date) meant we had to ask many questions throughout the cruise. A specific example was that the information about our day in Vienna was not shared until the night before and therefore it was a surprise to find out how little time we had there.

We really enjoyed the adventure! Our guides were stellar. Both ladies were professional, caring and well organized. The team on board worked hard to make sure we were informed and taken care of throughout the trip. The only negative feedback is about the manual bicycles, with only 7 gears it was difficult to keep up with the electric bikers and almost everyone was on an e-bike, even though we were in great condition my wife and I both ended up switching to e-bikes. The boat was well appointed and the food was very good (with a couple of exceptions). Overall we had a great time and are probably going to book another trip at some point.

The everyone was fantastic , captain, crew, chef, guides. They all worked together and made the entire experience fantastic. Totally recommend

Guides were amazing, as was the crew. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The noise levels at meals were painfully loud. The food was good, but less wonderful than we have experienced on our previous trip. Almost as if the food budget had been reduced.

Some caveats - large client size (40) meant little time for stops and town visits during the day. Biking was mostly riding along the river, so repetitive over the week.

I would do a boat/bike cruise again, but only in a smaller capacity boat with more local color and time in smaller villages.

Well laid out cycling itinerary. Clear orientation each day prior to ride. Cruise director Leslie was top notch!
Trail markers were well placed for easy identification! Bikes ran well without any issues.
Stress free cycling and beautiful countryside to explore!
Boat accommodation, meals and entertainment nights were top notch.
Highly recommended to anyone who loves travel and biking!

Another fantastic trip for us with Boat-Bike! This was our third trip with you and this time we brought our family to experience this kind of travel. We appreciated very much how the boat staff on the Gandalf (Hans, Saskia, Edwin) and guide, Cara, made this such a positive experience for all levels of abilities, ages and biking experience. The accommodation was good, food was fantastic (dank je veel Roos & Alesandra) and route from Maastricht to Amsterdam was interesting and beautiful. The side tours, like the glassblowing in Leerdun, Isvogel Distillery, and history/archeology tour in Vianen and dairy farm were great too and added to our knowledge of the area. My only regret is not having enough time in some of the places to explore more, but that just means I have to come back. :).

My only recommendation for this late season cruise would be able to have access for heat in the rooms or access for extra blankets/duvet as the evenings were quite cool.

Staff are always very personal and helpful.

A really enjoyable experience on the Island Hopping Boat Bike Tour of Holland. We'd not undertaken a holiday of this type before but would really recommend one. The boat and cabin are perfect. Very comfortable cabins but very limited on space, there's no where to store hard shell or large suitcases in the cabin so take soft sided bags. We took our own helmets but they do provide helmets. We should have taken our own bike seats as the ones on the bikes are quite hard and wider than our own. The guides told us we could have brought our own. But we managed
The Crew are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were always able to answer our questions.
The food was really delicious 😋 and the chef very accommodating for those with different food preferences. There was something to suit everyone.
