Horrible company, They change their pricing without more than 2 months notice.Originally it was a free service and it was supposed to be. "always free" except all the services that were free no are charged so once you are intrenched into their system they can just change the prices. No transparency, I highly recommend finding another service. look elsewhere

Love this app!. Makes doing the books and invoicing for my new company so easy. Love that it keeps tracks of everything I need to do. And thanks to it providing my BG business account, Visa and accounting reports I've saved thousands in bank fees and don't need an account which more than cover my monthly fee. Definitely recommend for small-medium companies.

Tool was great, but the billing structure has kind of ruined it and limited everything. I'm more than happy to pay, but with multiple businesses it gets expensive quickly.

The key issue is that when your Open Banking connection expires and needs reconnection, Bokio does no notify you at all so you can go days or weeks before realising, then a ton of transactions will need review. Really really annoying and could be solved so simply.

Additionally, to change between Making Tax Digital accounts you have to contact support to disconnected one business to reconnect another. Really weird design on that and should be able to support multiple MTD connections especially as they are entirely different gov gateways, so just seems like bad engineering design on that connection system.

Complete lack of Flat Rate VAT scheme is really strange and antiquated. We're currently looking for alternatives now as their support just doesn't seem to care about Flat Rate

HORRIFIC! Out of nowhere a service that was free is now charged (which isn't even so much of an issue, but there are far more robust systems out there which charge and have far better reporting mechanisms). But to not advise of such changes in the lead up to the end of the tax year is horrendous. I will be working through the night to migrate data and pay for Xero or something along those lines.

Further to this original review (I've received a reply months later - still shocking).

I have no issue paying for a service, my issue is being blindsided by costs. I am now using a far more robust software (not Xero) and yes I am paying and yes it's great!

Used to be OK when it was free. Now completely worthless

Don't use it. The platform itself is nice, looks nice. The problem is the support. If something goes wrong the support is next to non-existent. And even with priority support I am still waiting for critical information that right now prevents me from invoicing my clients over 150 000 kr. The respons from Bokio is that we will get back to you when we now more. That was 5 days ago....

Really great platform but they just did a classic upgrade to make money on their existing customers. Most of their, previously free, usability features are now locked behind a paywall rather than developing new and useful functionalities to put behind that paywall.

The free version is basically an excel program as of now. Given how poorly they did this switch I'm hesitant to upgrade.

They said the service was free forever, accumulated a lot of users, and then in the middle of the year they essentially said "pay within 2 months or lose access to the features you're using in your day to day business". F*** that! That's not enough notice for small business owners to change course! I was expecting to pay for their services at some point, that's not the problem - the problem is the hostage situation. Yeah yeah, extreme comparison, but you get the idea.

I used Bokio for the first time today. I just searched for book keeping and accounting software and found it. No Hype. Then I used it.
Beautiful use of AI with invoices and receipts.
The ability to load ur bank transactions and create transactions from there - easily.
Seamless - intuitive design.
Totally, Loved It.
Made me do my book keeping which I had dreaded for close to 1 year in nearly 4 hours. Shocked I could concentrate so much.
Beautiful software, they should charge for it.

I used to use Wave Accounting until they withdrew support this year. Bokio has been excellent - everything very easy, intuitive and above all, free! Having the ability to scan and include expense receipts is one of the main things for me as a sole trader, and I am sure for the next return, this will be a much easier process!

10/10 – bookkeeping made fun (nästan iallafall). Keep it up :)

Super Website and tool! Really helpful for our small company, has all what’s needed to make the accounting very fast, fast and easy invoicing, easy to use. And last but not least, really great support. Thank you for your service!

I have been through a few bookkeeping systems and always end up paying for a lot of features i will never get to use or need.
With Bookio, i got what i need, i dont need to pay for features i dont need and when i do need help, i can easily pay for the help i need.
All that a side, this has got to be the easiest bookkeeping i have ever tried a little setup, a few invoices registered and it saved the "most used" choises. Now i just get the invoice sent into the system when its paid, click a few buttons and its registered and ready. Takes me less then a minut per invoice. :)
A few times i may need to edit a few steps due to different currency, but all in all it collects all data just fine.

I have been through 2 Tax registrations now and a Year End and it has been easier then i have ever had it. They have reminders for all you need to remember (a great to do list), links to all help sites needed for what i have to do if in doubt and every step of the way is explained and almost done for me from start to end.
It has been such a pleasure to use Bokio, specially in these Covid times where the mind is all over time place. :)

best of all its free, you get all you need for nothing and as mentioned just pay for what you really need or when you need extra help. So give it a try for free, its well worth it and dont be afraid of lag of support because its free. so far i have had my answers within a day and always helpful and kind support.

Bokio is awesome, would like better translations in English from Swedish! Not everything is available in English, especially in the accounting sections!
