Quirky, interesting, beautifully decorated and well maintained place to stay - a great meeting place for a weekend with friends. Very helpful owner who came and introduced himself, answered questions and gave us useful information. Drove down into the town and walked along the tow path into central Bath - and then back again later!
Tucked away nature of the property made it a little tricky to find - better signage on the entrance to the drive would make this easier - otherwise, no complaints!

Our second holiday using Bolthole Retreats, this time in Todenham. As always the booking process was simple and straightforward, all questions answered quickly. Lower Farmhouse in Todenham was perfect for our needs. The farm was immaculate and the farm shop and Herd restaurant a real bonus. Would definitely stay again.

It was our first time in an Airbnb and it didn’t let us down. An amazing property in a great location.
Beautiful house all very well kept and presented.
Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
Most definitely recommend this property in Chipping Campden, Singer House.

A very dissappointing time. I have been before and found it to be superb. This time the telly did not work, there was no light working in the upper hall, the pillows in the small bedroom were extremely hard and I could not use them as was the mattress. I called the team the first evening to report the telly but they did not attend until the following day, not good enough.

We had a lovely stay at the Stables. The house is beautifully renovated, very clean, with a great mix of character and modern comfort. There is also a pleasant outdoor seating area. The Stables are located in the middle of a beautiful park, which makes the whole place feel very peaceful. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area, especially the charming villages of the Cotswolds. Communication with the host was excellent, and we would happily return.
We would highly recommend Bolthole Retreats for booking a holiday home.

My wife had a major operation and is fighting for her life in intensive care. Your response to having to cancel our stay as she will not be able too travel and we are not sure when she hopefully be coming home. We have used before and thought you would be more understanding as there was over a month to go. I am sure you will fill the vacancy. I was told we would get 50 persent back£600 pounds. A good company would be more understanding as there.I will not be using your company again.

Lovely place to stay. The combine shed was clean and tidy, with extras like coffee, tea, dishwasher tabs, toiletries available for us to use. Only slight negative was the double bed is rock hard so not the best nights sleep. The other positives like the hot tub, outdoor seating, dressing gowns and flip flops made up for that though so I would give it five stars. My family including two dogs had a really lovely stay. Thank you.

Have just spent the last 3 days at this beautiful manor cottage in the Cotswolds with family. A much needed break and getaway; some downtime, plenty of relaxation and a chance to catch up.
Highly recommend the Woodmancote Manor Cottage in the delightful villa of Woodmancote, 15 minutes from the heart of Cirencester, via Bolthole Retreats. It’s a charming cottage, with original wooden beams and structures, spacious and quaintfully decorated. 2 large double bedrooms and a smaller twin room, it was perfect for our getaway. Everything was super clean and we loved the old world feel of the cottage. Highly impressed that the kitchen was fully equipped with everything, plus small thoughtful touches such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The only slight niggle would be that the bathroom that has the bath tub needs a shower curtain around it. Just be aware that the “door” to this bathroom is a heavy curtain but that didn’t bother us.
The owner, Alex, who lives next door was extremely helpful with our queries and guided us to a wonderful small playground a few hundred yards from the cottage, where we all lived out our inner child dreams of playing on swings and doing obstacle courses!

Badgerwood is a fantastic place to stay. It's a huge, spacious property that is beautifully maintained. The owners have thought of every detail in this well equipped holiday home. We loved the views, the hot tub, the pool table and cosying up in the snug to watch films. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all well appointed - everyone in our group was delighted with their room. The hosts were super helpful and very responsive when we had a minor issue. The location is stunning and the visit to Studely Castle well worth it. Very highly recommend this property.

The Thatch cottage’s traditional charm and character were truly delightful. The large open fireplace was a particular highlight, adding warmth and atmosphere. Todenham is a beautiful village, and the accommodation itself was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable short stay. While the side garden faces the road and isn’t the most private, it’s still a pleasant spot where you can enjoy the peaceful sound of birdsong.

The lodge was a lovely place to stay with family in a great location. The facilities were perfect for our needs and it was very comfortable with ample space. It was tastefully decorated and clean and tidy. The added bonus of an outside area to relax and enjoy was great including paying extra for the hot tub for during our stay. A great getaway for the family. It was nice to be able to take a short walk into South Cerney and also to the boating lake nearby.

We had a really lovely time. Everything was excellent. The barn has been beautifully restored. It is literally on the farm, surrounded by nature and animals. The children even got to see the first lamb of the year being born which was memorable and a perfect end to a lovely stay. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at Browns Cottage for two nights in January and overall found the property itself lovely - well presented, comfortable, and in a great location.
However, we did experience a significant issue during our stay. For a large portion of the time (around 24 hours), the main kitchen/dining area—the primary living space—was very cold (around 14°C) due to underfloor heating not functioning properly. This was during an extremely cold weekend and particularly challenging as we were travelling with two babies.
To their credit, the house manager was responsive and helpful, arranging for maintenance to attend over the weekend, which we appreciated. The issue was eventually resolved, but 50% of our stay was impacted.
We feel checking for heating working correctly (they said a previous guest left incorrect) ahead of a booking is something that ideally should have been checked and addressed prior to arrival, especially given the weather conditions and them knowing babies were in the booking and it was an amber weather warning in place.
The experience did impact a meaningful part of our stay. What was most disappointing, however, was the handling of the complaint afterwards by Bolthole (on behalf of owner too), where the issue was ultimately dismissed as minor and they didn't feel any need therefore to make it up to us. We were also ignored twice on emails and had to escalate to the CEO. The tone and outcome left us feeling that the impact on guests wasn’t fully acknowledged.
A lovely property, but based on our experience, the overall stay and follow-up didn’t quite reflect the standard you would expect so do give caution to Bolthole and the owner of this property.

Our accommodation was excellent very clean and comfortable and we had everything that we needed. The owner was lovely and checked in with us on arrival and to ensure everything was OK. We loved the 2 horses which were very friendly particularly with my 2 granddaughters. I would recommend this accommodation and would consider staying there again.

Leafield Cottage stunning property within a fantastic location and close to all you would want from the Cotswolds. Owner great to deal with clear and excellent information provided. We will be back. This should be 5 star if not I will be amazed.

Kingfisher cottage had everything we needed for our family Easter break. My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year with our children and grandchildren. We spent most of weekend in the house and lovely garden playing games. Winchcombe is typical Cotswold village with a good variety of shops and food outlets. The Lion does an excellent Sunday roast. Thanks to Diane and David who were great hosts.
