The place was so charming and clean. The hosts were so thoughtful and we really enjoyed our stay. I would stay there again

The cottage was really lovely, well equipped and nice and clean. We did think the 1st floor bed was a little hard.
It could also have a had another lamp by the tv and the staircase was a challenge if carrying a drink but that’s being super critical, the kitchen diner with the lantern roof light was fantastic!! Beautiful place,

Went to Banbury Hill Farmhouse with 2 dogs & 11 members of my family varying in age from 22yrs upwards to celebrate my 70th Birthday & it couldn't have been better. The accommodation was excellent with a beautiful bedroom for everyone & a fantastic dining room, lounge & kitchen. The quality of all the kitchen equipment & furnishing provided real luxury. Everything had been given considerable thought & no matter what we wanted from extra tea towels to a cocktail shaker was provided. The breakfast delivery was superlative & every service person we encountered were wonderful. Beautiful surroundings with plenty to do. Absolutely perfect.

The house is lovely, tastefully decorated and spacious. The beds are very comfortable and the location is great for footpaths straight from the front door and pubs.
However there are a few things that would have made a BIG difference - and we would have expected - given the cost of the rental.
1. Matches / lighter for the fire - none provided. We searched every drawer.
2. Shower gel / shampoo - none provided, we used the handwash pumps
3. Hot water and heating was all switched off when we arrived so the house was freezing and, when combined with no ability to light the fire, we naturally were concerned there was an issue and were very annoyed. Thankfully my resourceful husband located the boiler and sorted it.
4. VERY squeaky floorboards. I have never known a house so loud! Strange as it doesn't seem old. Fine for us but if you have light sleepers, be warned!
5. Tiny kettle for a rental that sleeps 6+
6. A welcome hamper would have been... welcome. I've stayed in much more rough and ready cottages and they always supply a pint of milk, generous tea/coffee allowances, perhaps a loaf of bread.
Overall a nice stay but a bit style over substance. A few tiny details remedied as above would have made our stay top notch.

We had a wonderful stay in the Cotswold's, via Bolthole retreats. Communication was great and we were able to speak directly to very helpful owners also to organise elements such as a later check out. The property was beautifully presented with delicious welcome cake on arrival!

Beautiful cottage, well appointed and tastefully decorated. Although available for 6, probably best if no more than 4 as the accommodation is not very big.

Positives - emails on check in and directions towels and bedding were lovely. Storage good for clothes etc. nice to have dishwasher tablets and fairy etc. cottage is bright and airy, nice to be in such a lovely village - will be good when pub is restored.
Negatives - the water tastes horrible and there should be a note to advise it is undrinkable beforehand. Your hands and hair smell of chlorine. Would be good to have a brita tap or filtered water to drink fitted near sink. Sofa was broken. House not particularly clean, we found others people’s socks and a toy in the bedrooms and it needs a good clean around skirtings, plug sockets etc. Sad only six logs supplied for log burner, would be nice to have a full basket at least. You could not adjust temperature in Shower in en suite so the water was scolding! Frying pan in draw was so black and encrusted - needs changing. Water pressure goes up and down so two people cannot shower at one time. Normal tv cannot be watched - picture all pixilated. Thank goodness we had a log in for Iplayer and Netflix.

Beautifully decorated and pretty house, with great facilities in a pretty village. Shame about that tarpaulin and scaffolding covering the adjacent derelict pub, which shows no sign of reopening any time soon

The VIEW is true Cotswolds landscape. The location is in a quiet neighborhood with available parking, within walking distance to shopping and dining
The house is a very cosy typical cottage, well equipped. The garden is a mini paradise with local fauna roaming freely beyond the see through fence.
Just be aware, for people with mobility issues, there are 2 sets of stairs inside the house, which are mentioned in the description.
