I have always used Independent opticians until now and of late been extremely disappointed with the lack of service and up selling now involved in using them.
Yesterday 21/10 I used Boots at Folkestone and have to say that my experience was exceptional. From being greeted with a smile as I entered the opticians area, to My pre screen, undertaken my Karen with up most care, totally actively listening and engaged. Offered an extra screening service but moved on when I turned it down. To the lovely relaxed but professional service by Amaka My optician to Hannah who dispensed my prescription, explaining my options clearly and repeating what was on offer and timescales.
I hope collecting my spectacles is as good as my initial experience. Thank you ladies and well done for great, great service

Extremely happy with my experience during an eye test at the Chester Foregate store, the guy (whose name began with R as I recall) was expert and considerate.

Boots opticians victoria street London .. Dispensing manager Sakina was absolute help. i had an issue with my new pair of glasses and the way Sakina solved the issue was remarkable. not only she got me the best frames. every little details that sakina evolved was simply superb i think boots have a wonderful person at this branch. i would extend by gratitude to Sakina

On 22/10/26 I attended for my annual NHS eye check and have to say it was the best eye check ever. This was at the Royal Leamington Spa branch.My optician was called Saaniya (hope spelling is ok). This check up was very thorough and she explained every part of this as we conducted my test. She did identify what was required and it did not involve buying any new spectacles. She explained exactly what was required and how to do it. If going for a check up and can select your optician I recommend asking for Saaniya. Onto what happens next and it was back to Neil who was the first point of contact after reception. Receptionist was also excellent I might add. Neil takes over and guides me through the products required and fetches them for me. He explains what to do and how often. The complete experience was very professional and friendly. This was a very good experience and so deserving of a 5 star review. Highly recommend. John Dewar

Wonderful staff. Welcoming and thorough service, just like it used to be. Manager should be proud of them all.

I wish so much that I had decided to use a different opticians. Things in life go wrong, but a complete failure to respond / update / communicate after issues is just so disrespectful.

I ordered three sets of glasses from the Southend store, because they had a great selection and to be fair, they did a good job. Paid for 2 x Designer pairs and a free Boots pair.

Picking them up in Covent Garden London, was a whole other story. One pair was damaged and the response I got to asking how this would be rectified was defensive, rude and honestly bizarre.
Unless he has personal shares in Boots, I failed to see how it would benefit him in any way to not help me get a replacement or a repair.

I emailed customer care on 5th October, to get a solution and they have still not contacted me to let me know when my glasses will be ready, despite the fact I have chased 3 times.
I keep getting a generic apology saying someone will be in touch. I would love to know when.

Next, despite tightening many times, my next designer pair keep slipping down my face. I will go back tomorrow to try and sort, but that is 2 pairs I cannot use.

The best pair? The Boots own, that were free.

I really really should have gone to Specsavers...

While they are upselling lens effects and tinting and blue light, they are wonderful. As soon as something goes wrong, you are either met with hostility, or silence.

Be very cautious before you commit..

Ruman explained everything to me in detail. Ordered new lenses after cataract surgery. Very happy with all the care I was shown.

I was helped and advised by a lovely young lady ophthalmologist, who took every care to obtain all necessary information regarding my situation and offered excellent advice and suggestions for further treatment for my eye problem.

All staff at the Irvine store are so pleasant and made me feel very comfortable during my eye test appointment. I was wondering about changing to varifocal contact lenses and have offered me
a free trial to see if I prefer them. A great service from Boots in Irvine. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone.

I wasn't rushed. I felt that the staff were knowledgeable, they were not pushy. The examination was thorough. They were patient while I chose my frames. I came away feeling good.

Very comprehensive testing and great care taken. I have been extremely impressed with the Hereford team

I visited Boots Opticians at St James Quarter in Edinburgh on 20/10/26 and received exceptional service from Ruby. She helped me choose the right frames and patiently supported me as I tried on several pairs. Her calm, gentle manner made my visit particularly effortless. Almost all the staff, including Ruby at the Boots branch (Edinburgh St James Quarter), have provided incredible customer service on every visit.

I came in early at 6pm for a eye test for 6.30pm and had time to look at frames. I sat down and a staff member made sure I was ok and confirmed my booking. Then the Optometrist, Hafsa Mukhtar greeted me warmly and put me through the various test. She was very informative, efficient and knowledgeable and installed great confidence in me that i was in the right place. I then chose two glass frames with another employee who was great and tested the varifocal height. At this stage Hafsa came to check as I;d had trouble always lifting my neck on the previous set (mainly due to my eyes changing as it's been a while since my last test). Just brilliant excellent service from everybody from the minute I arrived until the minute I left. A fantastic experience.

I received excellent service and care from the Boot Croydon Opticians team. In particular, Mel who was very-very helpful, attentive answering all my questions. My Optometrist Dr Amaka was absolutely brilliant, and a great job by Janet whom also supported during my appointment.
