Still waiting for our results 3 days…
Still waiting for our results 3 days after testing. Too late to use now!!!
Don't buy this test. SCAM!
Don't buy this test. On the website it says it will take 1 hour to get your result (or at least in the same day). I received my results in 4 days. So test is not useful anymore (as it should be received within 48h). I phoned them and asked for a refund. There is no option for the refund. Despite the fact I could prove that I didn't receive the test when it was promised. I would give 0 stars if I could. This is a SCAM!
Video verified LFT
I ordered a video verified LFT. The booking process is awful. The procedure for doing the test and taking the video is clunky at best. The process in not explained well at any time during the purchase process.
On completion of the test I clicked the button to submit the video and even though my broadband was operating fine the upload did not confirm it had finished (it appeared to upload fairly quickly). After 20 mins I refreshed the page and it returned an error. SO whole process was void and no valid test the day before going on holiday!
In the end I booked another test via Express Test to take on site at Gatwick which was very efficient and got a clear certificate within 10 mins of taking the test.
The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because Boots customer service give me a refund when I requested one and explained the process i had been through.
My advice, if you are going to use this is to screen capture every step of the process so that you can feedback to customer service afterwards if it goes wrong!
Wish I had seen these reviews before I…
Wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered and paid for the test. Couldn't get an appointment.
The process is totally wrong. Wasted half a day on it.
Never again. Customer service is a disaster!
Worst experience in ordering test
Worst experience in ordering test. No tracking. Not on time. Totally unreliable. Can’t plan a trip with this, it will let you down and don’t thing if calling a customer service, there is NONE ! Good luck. Stay away.
Poor service from start to finish, inflexible, unhelpful, makes lots of invalid assumptions about you
Where to begin? The booking system is vile and unhelpful - no search and select before being invited to pay.
Then on arrival at Boots, zero helpfulness or flexibility on timing (I arrived two hours early, but was made to wait until exactly my appointment time).
Then, Boots did not have the booking reference. If I had not by chance kept it on my email I would have lost the test. This of course not highlighted by the hopeless Recova "system".
Then, no option to print the result. So, relying on the customer having access to email before travelling. Also, a screen shot is rather less reassuring than a printout. I dont have email on my phone. What about everyone else who doesnt either?
Overall, to be avoided.
Be aware
Be aware - you set up the account and they take your payment first before you book a date and location for the test. They don't show you up front what stores operate the service you have to keep entering town/city names till you get a hit, my nearest store offering the service was over 100 miles away. Complete shambles, it's the last time I set foot in one of their stores.
BOOTS VIDEO COVID TEST - WARNING - DO NOT ORDER
WARNING: The video COVID tests are uploaded to the lab, so YOU ONLY GET ONE TRY. And if the app crashes, you can't do it again.
We're flying out tomorrow and need a negative COVID test the day before. Ordered the test last week.
Logged in, started the video, 1:30 min in, the app stops and says "ERROR OCCURED WHILE SAVING VIDEO" (hadn't finished the video).
No chance to do it again!
We did another one which worked (on an iphone 8 vs an iphone 11 which had the crash), so if you have ordered one, I'd suggest using an iphone 8 or similar older phone as perhaps the iphone 11 has cameras that are too high resolution and this caused the error (?) - or it's something completely different and the app gives an error for another reason. Regardless, it's not worth the risk!
Anyway, the app is a liability. I've had to quickly book an available face to face lft test this evening, however many others may not be so lucky as many will be flying out tomorrow and there are limited tests available so close to departure.
Good luck!
Awful waste of time - go elsewhere
Awful. You can't check which stores operate this service up front as the button on the website does not go anywhere. Then you go through the whole process of registering to find there is no store within 20 miles of my house doing this, despite having 2 large stores in my town which do flu jabs, travel jabs etc. They are a waste of time and I suggest you do not bother with them. I feel badly let down. Confusing website and a waste of 2 hours of my life.
Poor service lack of CS
Needed a covid lateral flow with certificate to travel, ordered one and received one that clearly states it does not include a certificate. We travel in 2 days, there is NO contact info or customer service chat on the recova website. Boots refuse to answer for the test. So completely bad on their part 😱 never use this service
Website is confusing
Website is confusing. Despite clicking and following the steps for in store testing I somehow ordered a lateral flow test to be delivered. Boots won’t refund. They request payment before selecting a test location or time slot also. There are plenty of other testing companies available so i would recommend going elsewhere
Beware Booking Travel PCR with Boots
Booked Travel PCR at Boots Uxbridge Chimes center. Had to wait more than 20 mins for my appointment time to get the test. After test wait 47 hrs still no results, then rang Boots general number they kept me on line more than 30 mins and in the end lady answered. I said my flight is in few hours still no results, then she emailed the lab and got results after five minutes.
Next time if I have to do travel PCR will never go to Boots. Found out I can do a RT-PCR with Randox or Collinson and results within 3 hrs
They take all your personal data and…
They take all your personal data and then charge your card £79. Thats the last you hear from them as its impossible to book an appointment as their system locks your email address out.
Absolute con
APP Issues
Fast service on receiving its from order date.
Unfortunately, the app wouldn't;'t accept my details for a number of attempts, by which time on attempting to complete my wife's details, the time slot had timed out. No way of contacting Boots re this, on phoning Boots the auto answer cuts off after advising you need to contact your travel advisor re any covid queries!?!
Day 2 Lateral Flow test useless
Day 2 Lateral Flow test: useless because the QR code did not work. Now what? I tried for an hour to reach Boots customer service which just sends you round in circles. Is there no helpline to register the results of the test?
Unable to get the qr to scan
Unable to get the qr code to scan on to the web site. £40 wasted
Easy test and quick result. Read how to submit correctly.
The tests all arrived at the specified time with regular alerts from royal mail delivery. The tests were easy to use contrary to all the reviews.
The instructions are not explicit enough for some people.
The barcode that MUST be scanned is on the test cassette itself (the thing you actually put the sample drops on). You need to open the inner packaging.
DON'T scan the barcode on the outer box, it is the QR-code on the test itself.
Once done, take a photo and upload it to the site, and from experience (having used it 5 times now for travel day 2 LFT) the result and certificate have been available within 10 minutes of uploading the test result.
EASY if you can be clever when reading the slightly poorly worded instructions.
Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague. Paid for two day 2 LTF acknowledgment no mention of PLF number asked for Twitter help on Boots social media channel took 25 hours to get a response meantime had to book two alternative tests with instant PLF information provided. Shockingly bad , refusing any service, refund or responsibility.Boots brand is broken , lifelong customer for years spending on contact lense contracts and specs. No more . No longer s household brand you can trust .
Husband and I did tests on return from…
Husband and I did tests on return from abroad. Both negative test results have come back in his name, suspect poor website has caused this. So now I will probably be hounded by Welsh Govt for not completing my test. Seems no way to remedy this on line and of course no way to contact the laboratory or Boots.
Recova site is awful
Recova site is awful! Two Pre-travel Antigens tests, mine worked well, my partner’s activation code did not work and then said ‘code already activated’ after a few minutes. PCR day two post travel sent and, as my partner was in his way to post box, I received a message saying ‘test inconclusive’!!! I think their website is very confusing and very very confused. Not help whatsoever as they kept passing from one company to another. DO NOT USE their online home testing
