It's a week since I took the Day 2 PCR test and sent it off but I've not yet had the result. Baring in mind that my wife received her result within 24 hours a week seems an unnecessarily long time. Frankly I don't think it's good enough

DO NOT USE boots.recova-19.com

I ordered a Day 2 test for my daughter for her return to the UK. I followed the instructions on their website, bought the service and received the invoice by email. Then, when I tried to fill out my passenger locator form, the number on the invoice was not valid. Cue an hour and a half of panic as my daughter was travelling the next day. As her flight was at 2040 on a Sunday there was no way to discover this until about 2200 on the Friday (the locator form has to be filled in within 48 hours of arrival in the UK), by which time there was no help available. I was not the only person fooled by their utterly misleading website: Google it. When they finally replied to my desperate email on the Monday it was basically to tell me to take a hike, wrong product, no refunds, all my fault. I was amazed. To get out of the crisis I had paid another 22 pounds to a different supplier (Breathe Assured) and their immediate email gave me the number I needed, we were able to fill in the locator form and my daughter could travel. Bottom line: avoid this website like the plague as you very probably won't get what you need. I still have no idea what I'm supposed to have done wrong.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling! I have just missed Our flight to Antigua as this company sent me a PCR test from a test I had last Year in July, instead of the test I had 4 days before this flight! After ringing Boots customer services I was told it wasn't their problem and after I had logged onto the website, which clearly showed the result wasn't there, I was told to log off then back on and suddenly it appeared! I also received the email with it. I would avoid this company. This has cost us dearly and with no apology!

Have used them 3 times now, great each time

Have used them 3 times now. First the 2 day lateral flow test on arrival service in November prior to the recent rule change. Test delivered to home a few days after ordering. Results back in less than 2 days after posting.

Then used the in-store Lateral Flow service for ready to fly proof for another trip - again all easy to order online and results back in less than an hour. Very friendly staff in the branch.

Just used the 2 day PCR home test after returning to the UK after spending Christmas away. Test kit was delivered to home in less than 48 hours from ordering. I posted my specimen off on Tuesday to get the 1645 priority post. Results were back at 0010 Thursday am. I therefore only had to spend less than 2 days in isolation. Very impressed. Website easy to use and certificate easily downloaded.

Best to order your kits for home delivery at least 2 weeks before you need them, just to be sure, but for both of my home kits they arrived much quicker.

AVOID service not fit for use

AVOID service not fit for use. Took till day 14 post arrival back in uk to get a PCR result. Note labs closed at weekends cause further delay. Told sample lost, they blamed Royal Mail when Royal Mail show evidence sample delivered and signed for. Poorly informed customer services team or where they just fobbing us off. no honesty or transparency in service. Due to delay they promised result back in 4 hrs only to then chase and ultimately find labs were closed that day. Promised a return call none received. An extremely upsetting experience, such poor service just making money out of covid rules with no care for the service they are delivering

Just to echo everyone else's bad…

Just to echo everyone else's bad reviews. Try another company (Collinson seem least bad). Website it unclear and poorly laid out. Then for the day 2 return you have to re-register for boots to go and book at their stores. Have actually used once or twice and they've been ok but now give up as just too exasperating. Complete rip off like most of the UK providers (same tests in greece half price of less).

Abandoned in the USA

Purchased day 2 post travel lateral flow kits, then the rules changed and we had to book PCR tests instead. Called Boots and asked if we could use the lateral flow tests as pre-travel tests for our return, as they are the same as the pre-travel tests they currently have on sale. Was informed that would be fine. Came the time to upload our results and the Recova-19 portal would not accept the QR codes. Rang Boots, they checked the order no. and informed us that the order had been cancelled when the rules were changed. Had to spend the last day of our trip, driving around the local area to find a rapid test site. Fortunately found one! Do we have any confidence that the subsequently ordered post travel PCR tests will turn up and work? NO!

My pcr was inconclusive

My fit to fly pcr was inconclusive. The staff are not trained on what to do in that eventuality.

The retest results are now too late for me to fly. I've had to change flights and I'm going to have to do an emergency one at the airport probably.

Useless.

Boots - do better

So, where to start ... I have used the service several times in recent weeks. Booking is awful, I mean bad. Service in store is excellent. Postal shocking. Italy - antigen, in store good. Us trip 1, antigen, in store good. US trip 2, New York with my wife for our honeymoon - bad. Return PCR returned together on 22 Dec mine all clear; hers still pending. Posted the same day, time, postbox. Starting the fight to get my money back.

Hopeless

Hopeless - they lost my PCR test - apparently it never reached the lab! This was a test taken instore so THEY were responsible for getting the test to the lab. They did refund the £79 but as a result of their ineptitude I have lost my holiday and the £2999 it cost me.

Do not use they are useless

Do not use they are useless. They use third parties for everything and when there is a problem pass the responsibility on to the third parties, who tell you the data base is held with Boots and cannot do anything, yet Boots tell you it’s down to the third party. However Boots are very quick to take your money. Aweful service, will never use again and do not recommend.

A friend visiting us still waiting for…

A friend visiting us still waiting for a test result on Tuesday after posting on Friday. Sadly, I recommended Boots as thought they were not scammers like most companies set up for covid business.

UPDATE:
The result came on Thursday, a day before her return flight, six days after mailing the sample. Also, the pre-departure lateral flow test could not be registered so was useless. All in all, complete waste of money, caused a lot of stress and worry.

Ordered a day two PCR test for my return from Spain. They sent me the rapid test. I rang boots ( 30 minutes waiting on phone ). They immediately accepted responsibility, apologized and sent me PCR test to do on my return from holiday . I've been back 3 days and sent off PCR test on first day but yet to receive my test results . Its just very disappointing and I haven't a clue what to do if it doesn't arrive .

Shockingly bad

Shockingly bad, paid £68 per test only to discover price dropped to £59.99 less than two weeks later. Thought Boots was a reputable firm?? Should have used airport testing instead. Manchester has tests at £55.20 with results due by 23.59 the day after.
Boots…sort yourselves out!
#Woolworths….just saying!

VERY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Do not use their service else you will regret it!!! No PCR results for more that 48 hours. The number I called said it wasn't showing on their system that they had not received my sample at the lab and that there was nothing that he could do. Scam of the highest order!!! I missed my flight and spent a fortune to rebook another flight and get things sorted out. Use them at your own peril.
