Was accommodating, friendly, worked hard to find us the boat that fitted our brief and we are very happy with the whole booking process.

Booked yacht via Tom who was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I wanted to make sure of the bottom line price without in country extras to pay. He sorted it all out. Dream Yacht charters in Lefkas were excellent, everything ready for us Inc early departure. Georgia did a 1st class boat handover outbound and return. Yacht very well equipped NIL issues at all. No hesitation in recommending BAB or DYC. (You would have got 5* but the web site still has me down as not having paid!)

I used Borrow a Boat in 24 when Federico was the contact. He coped with our never ending changes of location, dates and boat size and offered us a number of options and we had a great week sailing round Elba. On the charter there were some issues with the boat itself, maintenance overdue, some equipment a bit old but that was down to the owner/local operator. For 2025 Nicolò has helped us find a nice yacht, to our requirements and within our budget, and offered helpful advice on port of departure and possible itineraries south of Athens.

Fantastic service when booking - the booking agent was Luke Quinn - professional and expedient replies - couldn’t fault.
Had an issue with marina information that was passed on and a couple of kinks in the thoroughness from after sales dept. But when issues raised Borrowaboat rectified quickly and looked after our group.
I won’t hesitate to contact Borrowaboat again in the future especially Luke many Thanks!

We rented a boat ….that did not exist!!!! Scam !!! We paid €1350 and there was no boat !!! Please never book a boat on this site!!!

They then replied that they wil refund me , but up to today 11 December 2024 no refund received 😏 and no contact possibly

This time last year we were planning a 2 week sailing holiday in Greece and looking at the yachts on Borrowaboat.com. If you’re doing the same this year - think TWICE. They aren’t guaranteed by ABTA and there is no protection or support if you have problems.
In a 2 week charter we experienced a broken anchor windlass, a broken bow thruster, faulty electrics that failed to charge the batteries so we had to constantly run the engine, 2 broken outboards and a myriad of poor maintenance problems such as an anchor chain without 10m markings, and faulty water gauges. Despite numerous attempts to address these problems since our return in June 2024 Borrowaboat have repeatedly failed to communicate with us or offer redress. Their excuse is the charter company who owned the boat are responsible. The charter company have NEVER replied to any of our correspondence - Borrowaboat are aware of that.

I booked a boat on the website, but when I contacted the owners of the boat later that day to check when they would confirm, they told me that they are not affiliated with Borrowaboat and had no knowledge of the listing or booking.

After multiple phone calls to the number on the Borrowaboat website, I finally got through to someone who said he would cancel the booking with immediate effect.

However a hold of the booking fee amount (hundreds of pounds) had been put on my bank account, showing as a debit, was not cancelled as requested, and it took me 10 days and numerous emails and phone calls to get it reversed and have my money made available to me again.

A quick google reveals that Borrowaboat actually went into administration last year but the owner/s just started a new company and continued trading under the same name.

It all feels very shambolic and unprofessional, and the owners of the boat involved in my booking are about to start a formal complaint against them for using their company name in their listing.

Essentially huge red flags all round - I would strongly advise not entering into any kind of contract with them. There are many far superior companies of this type out there.

This is my second review of borrow a boat, because I cannot respond to their BS response to my initial review. They claim to have contacted me several times, BS! I have left them several emails and VM's with my phone number and email, not my wife's, and have not heard a word from them. They look to blame the captain and our family for reviewing the itinerary before our trips, but didn't book the trip with our captain until 3 days before our trip, so how is that supposed to work???? You guys are real winners!!! They think that providing a voucher, which I acknowledeged in my initial review, is going to makes things better. Guess what, you couldn't pay me to use your services again. This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime, and your company ruined it. Your lack of professionalism, unwillingness to admit fault, and your reluctance to provide financial compensation for creating a massive challenge (which 3 kids in tow) for this vacation will never be forgotten. I truly hope people read this review and NEVER use your PATHETIC service!!

Andreas was fantastic from initial enquiry to booking. Not pushy and very informative.

We just spent a fantastic week sailing the Saronic islands in Greece. Otto organised the whole trip really well. He suggested a wonderful and varied itinerary and found us a great boat and skipper. We can't recommend him more.

At first, the boat I tried to book (and paid for) turned out not to be available. I got contacted by an agent with several new offers. An annoyance is that I had to pay for the second boat, while the payment for the first is still pending (I trust it will be reverted in a few days). The agent with whom I communicated, Zaxaroula, was remarkably helpful and responsive; her attitude was exemplary.

**Horrible Experience – Avoid Borrow a Boat at All Costs!**

Do NOT book any travel with this company.

We booked a boat with air conditioning in every room and a generator, as we were promised. Upon arrival, we discovered the boat only had air conditioning when connected to the shore, a critical detail they conveniently failed to mention. We had made it abundantly clear that we would need air conditioning while anchoring in coves. Despite this, the boat had no generator and no air conditioning in the cabins. Our attempts to contact them via messages, emails, and phone calls have been completely ignored. They have refused to refund a single penny.

Borrow a Boat ruined our holiday. This company is utterly untrustworthy and unprofessional. Our much-anticipated vacation was destroyed due to their deceit and negligence.

I have contacted my lawyer and will be pursuing legal action against them.

While Vicky was friendly on the phone and assured us that all our requests would be fulfilled, once we paid and encountered a problem, everyone disappeared. This company clearly does not care about their customers once they have your money. Avoid Borrow a Boat at all costs if you want to ensure your holiday goes smoothly.

This is not a serious or reliable company, and they do not deserve your business. Save yourself the stress and disappointment – book elsewhere.

Nektarios from Borrow A Boat was amazing. Helped with every question that I had and responded very quickly. I would recommend using Borrow A Boat and especially Nektarios.
