Very poor quality. Top broken off instantly upon unwrapping. Gold trim is different shades of orange. Egg opens unevenly and one side very hard to open. Painting is uneven. Unable to give as gift. Not an heirloom collectible at all. Extremely disappointed.

The egg doesn’t “do” anything, I figured the nut cracker guy would spin or the egg would open on its own or something.

Poor craftmanship. The pedestal the egg sat on wobbled. The magnet did a poor job of holding Clara upright. If you bumped it she would tilt sideways. Had to return the item

Very disappointed in this product and I returned it, awaiting refund. I have several lovely older BE pieces and the quality has always been superb, but this piece was not up to standards. First the item was advertised to play one piece of music (Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairie) and it plays something entirely different (Dance of the Tin Soldier) albeit from the same ballet, the mood and tone of each piece is very different. Second, the finial was broken off and loose in the packaging. Finally, the entire egg had a stickiness to it. Also the nutcracker does not turn inside the egg as traditional music boxes. I did not expect it to turn but advertising this fact would alleviate that expectation for music box collectors.

None of the advertising says the ballerina is only a magnet that doesn’t move, doesn’t dance. And, the egg has to be manually opened and closed. This is nothing more than music box; nothing more. Very disappointed.
