I hire two sets of equipment
I hire two sets of equipment. A Brad nailer and a porta nailer and after a floor sander and edge sander. The Brad nailer did not work, the response I got from the service desk at Reading branch was basically rude saying I was using it wrong before even looking at it.
Overall I think the price is good the and customer service shocking. Instructions on use were limited and when I asked a question I was told ‘if you don’t know how to use it you shouldn’t be ordering it’ Oh and they do sell 24 grit sandpaper which is essential for removing many tough varnishes or paints but it’s not on the website as apparently not many people order it. Funny that, how you’re supposed to order when it’s not shown as available is beyond me!

Don't supply the right tools
I went into the hire station asking for a drill that would be powerful enough to put holes into a concrete lintel. The person on the desk suggested one but then didn't have the right size drill bit to sell me, so he said he had an alternative that would do the trick. I got home and the drill just couldn't cut into the concrete - I phoned him and said and he said it must be metal, I replied that the lentil was concrete not metal and that I would return the drill. When I got back to the shop I said that it hadn't worked and I couldn't make any holes - he then turned round and said well it wouldn't be able to get through concrete. I was stunned as I had said that the lintel was concrete more than once. So I have had to pay to hire a totally inappropriate drill and on top of that employ a handyman to come and drill the holes for me. A total waste of my time and money. Really can't recommend the Reading branch.

Hire of post driver!
Although we had an early failure of the hired Honda petrol post driver which blew up half way through the first day of hire. Danny at Reading Brandon hire centre was quick though to find another one and was able to hire me the new one for the following weekend. This second Honda post driver worked well:)
