How can this company improve??? Easy. Stop being greedy and use common sense. If someone is using the carpark legitimately and can prove this despite not signing their registration into their tablet... See more

As is usual with this company …
As usual with this company, the machine was out of service, any relevant signage was impossible to see in the dark and their insulting, aggressive tone as they conceded that we had not breached conditions was still intended to cause offence.
Everything that is wrong with the new method of making money out of innocent members of the public.

Scammers!!!!!!!!!
I really hope someone twists your cameras into a ram’s horn! A pathetic company of idiots who don’t respond to appeals, send fines three months late, and try to extort money for time you weren’t even parked. You keep changing parking rules and work with the same kind of scumbags like BW Legal, who also try to squeeze more and more money out of people.I understand that you’ve reached a point where you’ll try to extract money from people by any means, but don’t forget there are those who won’t pay you a single penny. Go to hell and change your company name! You’re not Britain — you’re just a couple of stinking мошенников hiding behind big, loud names!!!!!People should avoid these jerks and their parking lots! Otherwise, you’ll end up paying for their constant rule changes and for the time your car isn’t even parked. So that the people in that company can gorge themselves on your money and sleep on the Maldives. They also put up signs everywhere saying they aren’t responsible for your car! They demand money but won’t take any responsibility. Yet they will send you unclear fines retroactively! Fraudsters.Your company should urgently be stripped of the name “Britannia,” along with all your businesses being shut down across England. Because you are a pathetic bunch of assholes who threaten people, demand money that people don’t owe, and deliberately ignore appeals.
Also, if someone exits the parking lot and it takes time, just like parking does, you send fines for 10 minutes of leaving your shitty parking lot! Then why don’t your machines have a 10-minute payment option? Why the hell should I pay you for an extra hour that I’m not even parked? Why are you trying to extract money when I haven’t signed or agreed to anything with you?
You’ve built your business on extorting people by force while making a profit! I really hope there will be people who shut down your business because you are just plain crooks.
Wrongfully fined - I suspect scam.
I parked in the car park managed by Britannia but owned by The Sun Hotel in Hitchin town centre. Residents of the hotel are not required to pay for parking, they just need to register their vehicle at reception so that is what I did. Britannia scum decided they couldn't be bothered to check if my vehicle was registered at the hotel and issued a fine. I provided proof of residence in my "appeal" which even Britannia scum decided was incontrovertible. However, in their email advising me that they wouldn't be collecting the fine, they still accused me of not complying with the registration rules and claimed to be letting me off out of the kindness of their hearts because it was my "first offence". After receiving that, I rather wish they had tried to take me to court so that they would have to incur all the costs of preparing their case before discovering that they didn't have one.
A crooked company
A crooked company! Try to avoid if you can. Machines, app and tel line all not working. They will still send a fine. Appeal is pointless.
NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!
NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!. This company shouldn't even be allowed to run as a business. I am a long term parking user and when I say long term I mean more than 1 year. I went on holiday and forgot 2 extend my payment for 1 day and half and received 2 PCN on the expiry date of the 14 discounted days. 1 day of parking is £6. The tickets £80 each. I live opposite to the car park and I noticed their employees all the time how they watch the cars and how they run after PCN. There are no costumers for them we are but sheep. Totally disgusted and disappointed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
Grifters totally committed to…
Grifters totally committed to profiteering with no common sense. Parked in an empty car park of a supermarket WHICH WAS SHUT ON A SUNDAY EVENING BECAUSE OF SUNDAY TRADING LAWS. Would love to know how these spineless morons sleep at night.
Paid, Receipt Received & Still Had a Penalty Notice for All 3 Days of a Travelodge Stay
I stayed in the Travelodge in Chelmsford, a hotel to avoid. On top of that they use Britannia Parking for the charged car parking. I registered my car at the hotel desk, paid and then received a penalty notice for all three days. So inconvenient to have to spend my time appealing validated parking. I recommend you avoid this hotel as I will be doing from now on. I stayed for business, my client will no longer use the hotel and I will check who is contracted to manage car parks for future hotel bookings.
If I could give a zero I would
If I could give a zero I would. Absolute scam of a company. How they’re still allowed to run I have no idea. Charged me £60 fine when their machines were not working. Refused my appeal. Tried to pay it, their website wouldn’t accept payment, explained the situation all I got back was it’s working, they have now increased the payment to £170 and if I don’t pay it I will be taken to court. Scum
I parked to pick up my son from…
I parked to pick up my son from Birmingham new street train station. I had parked on the 3rd level. My son arrived around 11.30 and we were unable to access lifts or stairs, as escalators leading to these are closed off at 11.30. Instead we were told we had to leave the station and walk around to the car ramp to access stairs and lifts. Ramps had no pedestrian walk ways / path so we found ourselves dodging cars entering and leaving the car park in the pitch dark. No safe at all. Very disappointed
This Company should not be allowed to …
This Company should not be allowed to operate in this manner. I was ‘caught’ out when parked in a space waiting to pick a patient up from a hospital car park. I was actually sitting in the car. Of course, the photos they provided are ‘cropped’so that I can’t be seen sitting behind the wheel. If I had gone into the reception area of the hospital I’m sure I would have seen the tablet and registered my car. I appealed the £100 charge immediately and more than 14 days later received a notification that I now need to provide a copy of the patient’s appointment details. If it’s not provided within their own 28 day time limit I could lose my appeal. I’m tempted to let them take me to court, and let a judge decide if it’s fair or not.
Complete leaches.
Complete leaches.
Absolutely awful Registered my number plate when parking but I forgot to take a photo of it to prove it.
So now I have to pay 100 pounds for there machine not working properly and can not prove I put my number plate in.
I hope who ever runs this company rots in hell.
This company are absolutely ridiculous…
This company are absolutely ridiculous parked in car park meters quite clearly not working has the cover over
And they still being dicks what am I meant to do get a ticket out of thin air
This is scamming business not parking
This is scamming business not parking, use at your own risk.poor customer services despite having financial evidence or proof of payment. They never pick up calls ,neither do they respond emails. I have been issued with fines twice despite making the correct payment, I wonder how their system works if you can still pay and get a fine, so quick to escalate and very poor customer service. Needs a better monitoring system
Avoid Britannia Parking if possible. If I could give zero stars, I would.
My experience relates to one of their Plymouth car parks, where the problems started immediately when trying to pay for parking.
On arrival I attempted to use the payment machines. They were difficult to locate and the one I eventually found would not work properly. Like many others appear to report in reviews of their sites, the system effectively forces drivers to download and use a parking app instead.
Unfortunately mobile signal inside the car park was poor, making it difficult to download the app and then register for an account while standing in the car park.
During my stay I made two separate payments for parking. Despite this, I later received a Parking Charge Notice.
After submitting evidence and going through the appeal process, Britannia Parking eventually cancelled the charge and acknowledged that a delay in their booking data syncing had led to the charge being issued incorrectly. It must have been a very long delay, as the parking charge was issued almost one month after I had parked there. They also confirmed that my personal data had been requested from the DVLA in error as a result of this.
There was also a clear issue with the payment system itself. My receipt confirms that I paid for a “one-hour parking session”, yet the system only credited the session with “58 minutes of parking time”.
In their response, Britannia suggested that I should have noticed this discrepancy and contacted their third-party app payment provider immediately while parked there – effectively suggesting that a fault in their own system was my responsibility to resolve.
This is completely unrealistic. Doing so would have meant spending even more of the time I had just paid for trying to contact a company on New Year’s Eve, with no obvious contact number available in the car park. Their systems should simply provide the duration that customers have paid for.
Although the charge was eventually cancelled, resolving the issue required several hours of my personal time gathering evidence, submitting an appeal, and corresponding with the company over a charge that ultimately resulted from faults in their own systems.
After researching further, I found many similar reports from motorists describing problems such as:
• faulty or difficult-to-find payment machines
• app payment issues
• poor mobile signal making app payments difficult
• parking charges issued despite payment
This suggests the problems with payment systems and enforcement are not isolated incidents.
Private parking operators should ensure their payment and billing systems are reliable and fair before issuing penalties to motorists who have clearly attempted to pay.
Based on my experience, I would strongly avoid using Britannia Parking where alternative parking options exist.
Spires car park not good ( payment…
Spires car park not good ( payment machine is not working still ) 3 weeks now . No machine on top floor . Charged me £3.50 instead of £2.50 ( rip off car park
I received a parking ticket based on Britannia not even bothering to see if i paid or not.
I received a parking ticket based on evidence of a camera at the entrance to Showfield Car Park in Pentewen, Cornwall.
I had parked for less than 1 hour but had paid for 2 hours in advance as i thought i would be parked longer than i was (payment on arrival terms applied).
I appealed the ticket (obviously) having found my parking stub (which i keep for just such an occurrence) and sent it in as evidence.
I received a letter saying my appeal had been upheld so nothing to pay.
The reason they said was that at the time on issuing the fine they had not received the data from the ticket machine, and would look into the issue.
My gripe is, how can they fine me without even knowing if i had paid or not!!
If i had not had my stub as evidence i would have had to pay the fine.
How many other people have been fleeced in this manner and how can it be legal?
NOT IMPRESSED !
How are they allowed to get away with this?
They don't care about their reviews clearly, but hopefully this might help someone else avoid a fine.
This company are disgusting. They are money grabbers and you can't do anything about it, as they will hound you to court and if you lose you will have a CCJ against your name so who is going to risk that?
Be very careful parking at North Landing Flamborough Head. The first time i parked here after the cameras were installed, the machine would only let me pay for an hour and I tried a few times to increase it but it wouldn't let me. I paid for an hour and just assumed it was faulty and as such they wouldn't be issuing a ticket. I got a £60 fine through the post and tried to appeal it twice with no luck. I then thought I would try my luck in court as I really do not have £60 to spare...never mind £100 ...then £170!!
A year later it's now gone up to £250 and I've realised if I lose in court I will get a CCJ! I'm livid! How can they get away with these ridiculous charges!
Please be careful and if possible AVOID any Britannia Carpark. Companies like this are worst of the worst...reading the other reviews on here I'm clearly not the only one.
Smelly, dirty, neglected, embarrassing.
Review: Britannia Car Park, Plymouth City Centre . Dirty disgusting neglected.
Rating: ⭐ 1/5
I have never had such a poor experience in a car park. The state of this facility is frankly a health hazard and a disgrace to Plymouth city centre. Looking online the same complaints have been made for years!
Hygiene & Safety: The entire place is filthy and infested with pigeon droppings. The environment is grim, poorly lit, and feels completely neglected.
Accessibility Fail: The lift has clearly been out of order for a long time. As someone with a pushchair, I was forced to carry it up and down the stairs. This makes the car park completely inaccessible for parents or anyone with mobility issues.
Faulty Equipment: The ticket machines are broken. One failed to issue a ticket after "accepting" payment, leaving us in limbo with no signal to check our bank accounts. Don't bother calling the phone number for help, no one will answer!
The "Parking App" Trap: We wasted nearly 30 minutes just trying to pay via a third-party app due to the faulty hardware. I fully expect a fine for the time spent simply trying to navigate their broken system. They can whistle for it I will go to court before I pay!
Summary: I was embarrassed of my county to take someone here. This is privatisation at its worst. They take the money and do nothing absolutely nothing to maintain it. Do not park here! What with the grime, the broken lift, and the technical failures, it is an unnecessarily stressful experience. I have taken photos of the lift and staircase as evidence of the appalling conditions.
Scammers will still fine when you have paid
Wow. Scammers ! Worst parking company ever !!! Sent me 2 fines for the same day ? I had pre paid for the parking online sent the proof and appealed it, it was still sent to a collection agency who closed the case after I sent them confirmation I had won the appeal, 7 months later another email from the collection agency with a PCN for the same date under a different PCN number. Cannot call the customer service number as it will just tell you to go online ! Take forever to get back to you if at all. No response but still sending out letters which I was charged admin fees of £45 a time for from the leasing company, so what was 2 x £100 fines still ended up costing me a fortune and it was their mistake. Will never ever use this parking again ! Luckily I kept all the proof and still had it 7 months later….i’d avoid !!
Britannia Parking in Inverness
If you intend to visit Inverness be aware when parking your car with regards Britannia Parking. They are very happy with sending you letters re non payment of a parking ticket. Yet, quite happy at not maintaing their ticket machines. I will never use this comapany again.
Their operators licence should be reviewed.
