I had a great experience with Ben, he listened to the struggles i’ve experienced with education and immediately put things in place to improve them. He explained everything very well and helped me to understand all the help i was receiving. 10/10 experience, especially after not feeling like you’ve received any help within the education system before :)

I had a great DSA assessment with one of Broadbent’s assessors. She was kind and supportive, really listening to what I had to say and what support I would benefit from.

I have recently had my DSA assessment with a kind lady called Jennifer, who had went through everything with me so which I could get my DSA. I found that she was a really reassuring person and had explained and asked questions about my illness in a clear manner. For anyone who are preparing for their assessment it is not a scary experience, and if you are lucky I am you will get all the help you need for you to have an easier university experience.

I had a telephone assessment with Ben today, who was really professional, compassionate and helpful. He took time to understand my individual circumstances and I felt my needs and concerns were listened to and valued.

I was very well informed and the person who spoken to me Ben, was very polite and great at explaining.

I had to wait quite a while for an appointment but other than that it was absolutely perfect!! my assessor was super duper nice, and i got everything i felt i needed

The needs assessment was really good Helen helped me understand and talk about different sotwares and what they do. Can be a bit confusing trying to submitting forms and such bit overall they are pretty helpfull

I cannot speak highly enough of the outstanding treatment I received from Jennifer Thorpe during my recent needs assessment. From the moment I made my initial contact, Jenny was professional, attentive and understanding of my situation.

Booking in my assessment was simple and straightforward, Broadbent provided clear instructions and answered all of my questions with ease and professionalism. But it was during the actual assessment process where Jenny's exceptional skills really shone through. She listened to all of my needs and concerns with genuine interest and empathy, ensuring that each of my concerns was addressed in a thorough and thoughtful manner.

I had my assessmentwith ben; he was wonderful and friendly and made sure I felt comfortable during the procedure.I'm pleased with the phone call I had because it was easy to understand. What will happen next was clearly and precisely explained in the information provided. They are incredibly helpful and walk you through the assessment step-by-step so you don't feel overly overwhelmed. I would want to appreciate this company for their help. I'll will highly recommendation this company for DSA. Good overall experience.

Ben was great and very helpful. I didn't know what kind of help I could expect with the DSA having a Mental Health condition but he helped me at every stage of the interview to clear my doubts and suggested lots of helpful things and software that I'm sure will be useful in my further education. The whole interview was conducted in a very relaxed atmosphere, so I didn't stress as much as I usually do when interviewing someone new. Despite faults on my part at the very beginning of the meeting, we discussed everything with care. The whole interview lasted about 1.5 hours.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Rosalyn Lord assessed me for my DSA assessment in 2022 and I was lucky enough to have another assessment with her in 2023 as I go into Year 2 at University. Her delivery, communication skills and empathy to my situation has helped me feel confident in the tools I've been given to help achieve my degree. Honestly, don't have anything but great things to say about Broadbent and Rosalyn

Spoke to Ben. Very receptive and helpful didn’t make me feel inadequate when explaining my problems to him. He listened and has put in a plan to submit to help me in the best way possible.

Full of apprehension before the assessment, following negative experiences of any previous assessment to do with health and disability, I'd already resigned myself to having a battle on my hands to get anf support or help - despite everything I'd seen online about the needs assessments being a positive experience.

There should had been absolutely no concern whatsoever, there was no requirement to prove or evidence my problems - Helen was warm & welcoming without that awkwardness when someone is too enthusiastic. She was clear and concise, but provided ample detail and clarity - both when directly asked and when she identified that it was relevant.
Helen could word and describe my study issues and concerns appropriately, even when I struggled to make sense of and recognise them myself. This was, in itself, hugely beneficial for me in gaining an understanding.

But more than this, she made a significant amount of recommendations - thoroughly talking through and explaining each one before going away and promptly (especially for someone used to waiting on DWP responses!) provided an articulate and persuasive assessment report requesting a combination of physical equipment, software, training, and coaching/mentoring - advising me at the time that there were recommendations for two pieces of equipment that DSA didn't give often and as such, not to get my hopes up.

But again, I shouldn't have been concerned. Every single item recommended on the report was agreed to and provided!

Thanks, Helen, I'm already hugely benefiting from the recommended items, and my course is just getting started - you've managed to turn a pessimist into someone who is quietly excited for what is to come!
