Compared to the traditional Brompton, this is a beast! It is bigger and heavier, but is a joy to ride, I strongly recommend a test ride before buying to ensure it is right for you and your needs. The big positives are the ride on rough surfaces, the gears and the brakes which stopped me being flattened by an inattentive driver and me flattening an out of control dog! The size and weight aren’t an issue for me as I won’t be using it as a commuter – I wanted something that took up less storage space than a full-size bike and that could be put in the car boot for days out. The fold is a little slower than the traditional bike, but I am not looking to set records. The inclusion of bungee straps for the rear rack would have been good, but a multipack from a hardware shop will do. The price, phew… After two weeks, really enjoying it, although the saddle may get swapped out.

Fantastic Bike I’ve waited half a century to own a Brompton. It’s British-made, and there aren’t many purchases these days for which you can say that. I’d had my eye on the G Line ever since it was released, and it suits me perfectly. The colour turns heads wherever I go, and I wasn't disappointed when it finally arrived. It’s a very capable bike: the brakes are great, the build feels sturdy, and the folding mechanism is brilliantly practical. Despite weighing a little more than some other models, its agility more than makes up for it. It rides confidently, handles well, and is a pleasure to use.

Bought using my company cyclescheme. Really well built, quite heavy but folds down well but you need to pick your spot on a train as it doesn’t fit in places smaller Brompton would. The roller cage is nice but it can topple easily. Beware of cable rub on the frame paint. I’ve used helicopter tape to help protect that. Rides lovely though!

Excellent bike - unfortunately, had some issues with it on arrival that it wasn't folding and locking in place. This required a return to Brompton who fixed but then damaged the rear triangle, so the bike shop fitted this for me - overall, this delayed me getting the bike by a month, but now I've got the bike, it's good. The difference between the 16 and 20 inch wheels are noticeable in both the riding but also the size of the fold. I wouldn't recommend this for multi modal transport but for my use case of having the bike folded up in the office, it works fine.

Not the lightest but the best bike I have used on my commute. Not the cheapest either but the build quality is top notch and has a 7 year frame warranty so will probably out live most other bikes.

Absolutely love this bike! The bigger wheels make it feel more like a full size bike. Rock solid and easy to ride. I took it off roading on the South Downs in Worthing and did a bit of a mad downhill on a rocky n rooty path. Felt safe and was amazing. Would recommend to anyone :-)

I have had my g line for about 2 weeks now and it is excellent. It replaced an aging M6L. The quality of the bicycle is superb, rides well (although the tyres are chunkier than I thought they would be) off road and on. Folds easily and rolls beautifully when folded. Brakes are excellent and the seat comfortable. I really can't fault it, maybe except for the price (which I don't tell anyone, because they would think I am mad - all my other bikes are ancient). I suppose if you are going to buy the best, you have to pay. Far better than any other folding bike I have come across.

I would not buy direct from Brompton again but would use a dealer. The first bike was faulty and unrideable, trying to simply speak to a person who could solve a complex problem was v difficult with a long turnaround time for a replacement. I hope a dealer would have headed the problem off at the pass and also adjusted the locking block and inserted the optional post sleeve. The replacement bike arrived with no more than a few hours notice from the courier company - no forewarning of a date with the option to re-schedule as the first faulty bike did. The bike is expensive and should be in perfect condition, the recent problems with cables dragging against the chain and hinge spindle recalls point to design and manufacture problems, and in my case at least potential quality control of products leaving the factory. I am however still awaiting feedback concerning the terrible state of my first faulty bike and the cause of the problem. On a more optimistic note the bike is super fun to ride, rather bouncy on the roly poly tyres and has freed up a lot of space in our small house's hall way. The portability is a real boon even with the larger G line although I am not jumping on and off buses which would guess be more suited to a Trad Brompton, for me it is a matter of putting it in the car to cycle bike trails. The gear ratios are good for hilly Cornwall and the 20 inch wheels while still a little twitchy relative to a full size bike are far more stable than trad Brompton's that I have tested. The tyres also predictably involve a good deal of rolling resistance, but you would not be buying a G line as a go faster machine in the first place. Overall - pricey for the quality that I have experienced, and a customer service that while super pleasant and friendly struggles to deal directly with any complex issues.

It's my first foldable bicycle. It looks expensive at first, but after a week of use, I totally love it. Incredibly smooth and well-made.

Really enjoying my G-Line Brompton. Only had it one week and done over 50 miles on mixed terrain. Copes well with gravel and potholes.

I really like the hub gears ,,I can stop in 8th gear and just take off in 1st it’s really easy ,we got them to put in our car rather than normal bikes on the back so we can travel to Norfolk and cycle the quiet areas ,then leave them safe in the car ,it’s a Yaris so not massive, I also got us liability insurance so we are coved for any issues we may cause ,they go well on the road and field path/bridleways ,,it’s a premium product but we’ll made and solid when locked together, happy with purchase ,we can get out together that’s what we wanted

Some excellent features but setup on delivery was lacking and some design flaws in my opinion. Otherwise excellent bike.

A lovely bike, will make a big difference to travel around the country by train and bus, and will allow me to make full use of the cycle network, including bridleways and tow paths. My only reservation is the use of hydraulics for the disc brakes, as this makes it difficult for me to maintain them myself and effect any necessary repair while away from home. There does not appear to be any instruction about how to bleed them myself in any of the manuals. The rear wheel removal seems a faff, too, and looks to be a challenge if I pick up a puncture when out in the wilds. I am from the tradition of doing as much as I can for myself in terms of maintaining everything I have in life, and will resent having to pay people for a fair bit of the maintenance. But that reservation aside, and given this is only the third bike I have owned in 65 years (I may be an old lady now, but still ride the Claud Butler I bought in 1980), I do love it already.

Looks and feels like a very well made product and rides almost as well as a full size bike. It is a bit too heavy to carry easily but being able to just put a bike in the back of the car has been a great benefit for me. I live in a hilly area and I'm getting on in years so I plan to change the chain wheel to ease the strain. It is expensive but I didn't find an alternative that managed to beat it.
