An excellent bike, obviously bigger but the ride and poise are so much better over varied terrain. The 8speed by Shimano with excellent trigger shifter should be on all Bromptons. On the half fold the front wheel collides with the folded rear wheel more than on the C&P lines. Larger wheel format and tubeless ready makes for easy riding. I use mine for a London commute with country lane start and finishes. On the train it is wider and taller but not much more than the C&P lines and storage in standing areas or luggage racks is much the same. The C&P lines are great bikes but the new G Line is so much more a commanding ride it breeds confidence. On gravel trails and rough terrain it is so much better.

Brilliant, comfortable, versatile bike

A superb, versatile bike which handles well over many surfaces. Shame the gearing isn't a little lower for touring with a load

It is a bike that does what it is meant to do, very well!

Really pleased with my new bike - fits like a glove!

I bought it for commuting as my previous one didn’t like uneven surface so much, and it is a lovely bike, feels much safer and stable than an original Brompton, however I will have to change the tyres as it is quite bulky and very hard to ride at speed (compared to my previous Brompton)…I also don’t think that the highest gear is enough

So far the bicycle is great. If anything is missing it is a kickstand. The bicycle rides very well and is a great solution if typical for the UK you own or rent a place with no space to park and protect a cycle other than inside. If at all one thing which could be improved is to keep a buyer informed, if they want. I would liked to see a video of the production, a film to make the waiting time feel shorter, but this has nothing to do with the hardware. I use it as my office bicycle and so far even some clients found it very interesting.

The G Line is an Brompton evolution on the claissic Brompton. It feels more solid and you know its going to be better off-road. I intended to replace my classic 2 speed Brompton with a classic 6 speed Brompton, and I was also looking for a comfortable euro style touring bike for a while as well. So when saw the G LIne, realised it would do both. We happened to be going to London, and test rode the G Line at the Covent Garden Shop and we immediately impressed. We have a few trips planned already this year, and would have took the old classic Bromptons or a new touring bike. But the 8 speed G-Line will give us both. A bike that easy fits in the car (photo is in a Suzuki Ignis) but can also do hills and hard core/gravel trails. It may be slightly bigger folded than the classic, but I don't put it on a train very often, they mainly go in the back of the car and the G-Line still fits no problem, even a Suzuki Ignis (with the seats shoved forward, like we had to do with the classic B). Yes, a bit pricey, but in our case it will replace 2 bikes.

The design is problematic- the cables to the rear are too close the the pedals, the handlebar gripper is too close to the pivot point. Having used it for a week, the gear mechanism failed & it had to be taken back to the dealer, who told me it was put in too loose. A day later the inner tube on the front tyre went flat due to a faulty valve. I’m now told you’ve recalled a part which is failing, but no word about how you intend to resolve the problem

It would appear to me that the scaled up ‘G’ line is now most definitely on par with the latest Moulton with regard to the overall utility of both machines plus the added convenience of portability, truly a ‘go’ anywhere machine for all but the severest off road conditions. Truly a worthy stable mate to the 16” wheeled machines for even broader horizons……

Rides totally different to the old Brompton, feels more like an old MTB. Not a zippy as the original, feels much bigger to live with.

Well made capable bike but very heavy. The usual Brompton tool kit doesn't fit, and has the wrong tools to remove a wheel so you need to fit a bag and make up a kit. There is no pump, or mounting for one. I love the bike but you have to be aware of these issues.

Best Brompton yet, has a tendency to fall over when folded. A bit heavy for carrying when commuting but great for cycling when the roads and paths are less than perfect.

It’s just a great fresh version of the original Brompton and allows me to do even more with the bike off and on road. Rides and feels like a normal bike and is a different ride experience from Brompton. Love my purchase !!!!

Great bike and so versatile, feels more substantial as it should but with the roller frame moving it around is not much more difficult than a classic Brompton. Works well on forest tracks and city roads.

So far so good - unfortunately not many G Line specific accessories available several months into product launch

The general build quality and ride are good, but the bike is let down by the low-quality gear shifter. Having invested a lot of money in this bike, I am disappointed this component lets the experience down. I may need to replace it with a better quality shifter.

Sent it back. It’s big, awkward and pretty pointless. It’s not up to your usual high standards. Bought a Brompton chapter 3 instead.
