Would have given in 5 stars had it not been for the "Chat" function. I tried to find out if my purchase qualified for a military discount and got in a do-loop with the chat. It provided no information... See more

Not great
Not great. The website has errors where gun photos do not match the description. They sent the wrong gun and charged me $300 to restock. Would not reccomend.
Abysmal customer service

Extremely Disappointing Experience
Extremely disappointing experience with Buds Gun Shop.
I ordered a simple SKB rifle case to be shipped to a gunsmith who had previously provided me a replacement case. Shortly afterward I received a generic “thank you for your order” email and assumed everything was progressing normally.
By pure accident, while reviewing prior orders, I opened the order detail page and discovered a hidden note stating that I needed to call Buds to continue processing the order. Had I not randomly checked the order history myself, the order likely would have sat indefinitely with no notification whatsoever.
After a prolonged hold time, the representative required me to verbally verify:
* my full name,
* billing address,
* shipping address,
* recipient’s full information,
* item ordered,
* and the last 4 digits of my credit card.
Only AFTER all of that was I told they also required a copy of my driver’s license via email before they would process a $217 gun case order.
If enhanced fraud verification is required, fine — but proactively communicate that clearly and professionally upfront. Do not bury it inside an order-history page and force customers to discover it accidentally.
The entire process felt disorganized, inefficient, and unnecessarily intrusive for a non-firearm accessory purchase. This was a very poor customer experience and not one I intend to repeat.
Priced great
The product I’d been looking for was offered at a great price and I couldn’t pass it up.
Buying a Ruger revolver
Easy to navigate the sight and found the item in just a few minutes
Absolutely
Absolutely. The best prices and rare guns that you can buy on the website. I can't find them nowhere else.
In-store is great; online is garbage
I am a very happy customer of the in-person location in Lexington. However, the online store has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with out of any company. I ordered a $20 magazine, never received it, and they basically told me I was out of luck. No possibility of a refund or reshipment. All I wanted was my magazine. Asked them if they could send to the local store to make sure I received it...nope. I said I would just dispute with my bank for breach of contract, and they said if I did that I would be banned from purchasing from Bud's ever again.
I mentioned this to the folks in the Lexington store, and they handed me the magazine out of their own inventory and said this is a common issue with the online store and said that it wasn't worth losing my business over (as an annual member of the range and frequent purchasher of firearms) over $20.
I'll never buy from Bud's online again. In-store, yes, but the online store is worthless. Not a single product they sell that I can't get elsewhere, with way better customer support.

Buds makes buying online a breeze
Buds makes buying online a breeze. Tons of listed FFLs in my area, several I never knew about. And some of the best prices online with free shipping. Lifetime customer for sure!
Very pleased
Excellent selection (I was looking for a specific brand/model/feature), fair/competitive pricing, customer service responded almost immediately to my email question about the product, easy to place an order . . . the site even provided a list of FFL's in my zip code, receiving email updates to order progress, waiting to hear re "shipped". First time buying online (I usually go to brick and mortar for firearms) very pleased.
