Buildbase Thrapston are only interested in trade not one customer. I ordered 8 sheets of moisture plasterboard around the 10th Oct and asked for delivery. The first available date was the 19th Oct. I only live 1/2 mile from the store. Called today to see when delivery will be made and all I got was after 12. What sort of answer is that. If my company ran transport like that we'd all be out of a job. The fact the best person who worked there got laid off says it all

Worst company I have ever dealt with, overcharged for items compared to their online price, asked for invoice rectification, despite numerous calls and being assured the newark branch manager would be in touch no contact at all, they also invoiced me for rainwater down pipe at five times the price of screwfix,ie buildbase £21.15 screwfix£4.46, even after their discount still 2.5 times screwfixes price, I think they treat customers with contempt and I will never use them again, this way of trading not giving prices and sending out invoices is totally archaic. terrible service.

Absolutely disgusting service paid for flags mid week to get a phone call Friday afternoon to say problem with wagon so no delivery till monday flags delivered Wednesday, get to job fri to find pack of flags missing to be told you will get them sat morning then nothing phone not answered not happy will not use again

What a joke, the old saying "Couldn't organise a ****up in a brewery" couldn't be more true. Order 13m of curb edge blocks and they order 1 (no not 1m) just one block. And that was just the start of their joke service. A week and a half after contacting (and many phone calls since) to ask that they collect their unopened pallet, it still sits on my neighbours drive. Milton Keynes buildbase are a joke.

Needed 1 length of 15mm Copper to take to a job tomorrow so I called into BuildBase Thrapston to collect as Screwfix was 10 miles away. Then received my Invoice for £24 yes £24!! Thought I had better go home and check to see if prices had gone through the roof due to the current situation but No Screwfix are still doing it for just over £6 a length so immediately returned and got a refund then made my way over to Screwfix and collected two lenghts at 3mtrs for just over £12 and spent what was left of what BuildBase wanted to charge on Diesel. SWore I would never go back last year after being charged £9 for a tube of White Silicone, Screwfix £4. UNbelievable prices, wont be going back in a hurry!!!!!

I placed an internet order with Buildbase for some paving products on 19th August on the basis that the products were on 7 days delivery. After making several phone calls chasing up the delivery (without which I am sure I would not have received anything) the order was delivered this afternoon, one day short of a calendar month since the order was placed.
This was my first order to Buildbase, and it will be my last.

2nd delayed order of bricks from Aylesford branch. First time I was told they had an issue with their van. Bricks were a week late.

Second time I was given a date for delivery, which they failed to honour. Every time I call them I’m told they are going to pick them up and I’ll get the bricks tomorrow. I’m still waiting, a week later. Just continually fobbed off. Won’t be using them again.

Placed an online order on Friday. Two hours later my local Buildbase (Farnham) called to confirm the order and let me know delivery would be on the Tuesday. Tuesday 9am - I called to find out the delivery time. I was called back within 10 mins after the person I spoke to had checked with the driver for and ETA. Driver turned up at the ETA, was polite and helpful. I couldn't ask for more in terms of service. Thank you

Placed an order at the Corby Branch for 14x4.2mtr fence rails. Was told they would be delivered weds 26th Aug. Looked on their online site , which said that I could order gravel boards that would be in stock within 7dys. I ordered 6. Received a phone call on Monday 24th telling me that the gravel boards would be due in on the Friday, so could I have all my rails & boards delivered as one on Friday afternoon, the 28th. I agreed. Today contacted Corby branch at 4.30pm because my delivery hadn't arrived, to be told, wouldn't have gravel boards until October & my delivery would'nt be till Saturday morning anyway. No one phoned to let me know any of this! Quick enough to take the money, wasted afternoon, Bank Holiday week-end, because I was going to repair all my fencing.. Need to update your website for orders. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. Wont be recommending Buildbase to any one

Went to Buildbase in Tamworth this morning and the customer service was really poor. Was served by a chap called James Mitchell-Jones and it was like I was an imposition on him, like he was doing me a favour. I made two trips, the last at 11:50 when they close at 12. I was met with ‘do you know what you want, mate? We close in a minute’. He could not have been less helpful or impolite. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to his colleague in the yard and was met with ‘I’m not surprised, we all want to go home’. I pointed out it was still before 12 and said ‘you are all being paid, aren’t you’? He replied by being critical of his hours and new owners who had included Saturdays within the working hours. Clearly disgruntled staff and a really poor experience.

Great bunch of friendly people at our local branch, who would go the extra mile to help us get the materials we needed. Even during shortages, they'll ring around to get hold of parts from other branches so they wouldn't let us down.
The only issue we've experienced in the past is that they are very much separate branches and not a single "unified" business, so it can be hard to get stuff which is available 50 miles down the road.

Build base has a severe problem with people with disabilities. They also have no respect for government guidelines . I was embarrassed in stall , intimidated and forced to wear a mask when i have severe breathing difficulties, so severe it’s visible . I would urge anyone with a disability who doesn’t want to be made to feel that way to avoid this place . Clearly they don’t think everyone should have the same opportunities as I wasn’t welcome at there store in Awsworth

Ordered 2 full size sheets of plasterboard at exorbitant price on 3rd June from Airdrie Branch who said delivery would be 1/2 weeks.
After several phone calls in July, to find out why it was not being delivered I asked for a refund in mid July.
I was told with no apology or reason for non delivery, the money would be refunded. Money back - Time wasted on unreliable company.

spent two days driving around trying to kerb stones and corner piece finally found them at new south gate staff were so helpful checked stock for me i drove over the next day again staff were so helpful even told me how to mix the muck so to speak and how to lay them correctly its so nice in this day and age to have this kind of service thanks to every body

I met a good bunch of lads in the Buildbase yard at the Heathrow branch. I was after some fencing panels and posts. Under Colin's supervision they take me around in the yard and showed the different type of panels available and gravel boards. Very pleased with the good price and service provided. Spent over £800 and very pleased with the order.

As promised the delivery was on the next day early morning, really help me to start the work with the materials delivered onsite on time!

So we ordered an 800kg bag of gravel, was told it would be delivered Wednesday.
No one told us their supplier had let them down and we didn’t get the delivery or notification it wouldn’t come.
The manager however got it sorted for the next day, apologised and got it to us the next day as equal weight in small bags.
This worked better for us anyway!
Hence 4 stars, they made a mistake but fixed it quick and better.

Have been great while I have been doing my garden in covid 19

UPDATE: Despite the response below, looking like this company care, I emailed as asked, and no reply... 6 weeks later.

Had a delivery in May which was incomplete, called 6 times to ask for a refund but although staff are friendly, still no refund.

Ultimately I've paid for something that's not turned up and politely asked for my money back over and over again.

Reporting to trading standards as there is no other option now.

Braintree branch - excellent service from Steve on the hire desk. Although he was doing the work of 2 people, I didn’t feel rushed and was given advice and Service as though as though I was the only customer that day.

The sander I hired wasn’t quiet up to scratch, but I would certainly return and not hesitate to recommend them in the future.
