Brought a sheet of ply and 20 lengths…
Brought a sheet of ply and 20 lengths of tongue and groove. First time customer at Build Supplies and I know there's a virus outbreak but jees. I saw the wood had some discolouration from damp and mold but thought oh well there will be enough to complete my job but as I started to cut it down to length the discard pile started getting bigger than the keep pile. I phoned them up and dared to say their timber was crap and OMG don't ever insult their products. Needless to say if you dare to say your not happy you get a WW3 level onslaught and hung up on. Anyway if your unlucky like me and have no other choice but to buy from here you need to buy twice as much as you need and make sure you can dispose of the waste... Also the sheet of ply was dog eared and full of more holes than Swiss cheese and the TnG supplied was 8mm instead of the 9 I requested so ended up with mismatched wood half way through the project. AVOID THEM IF YOU CAN
Eventually offered to refund as long as I never darkened their door way again but project timeline dictated I try and make do with this terrible wood.
EDIT (as there's no ability to reply to a reply.) The comment from build supplies below is a load of rubbish. see my reviews WITH PHOTOS on facebook or google for the quality of wood i received. what they should have done was a partial refund for all the waste in my wood. instead they basically blackmailed me knowing they were the only supplier in miles with any stock and gave me the only option of a refund if i bring it ALL back and never be a customer again. they offered this knowing damn well when a project needs to be finished having bad wood is better than no wood. a partial refund for the waste was all that was required to maintain your integrity.

Roy, thank you for your review and comments which we appreciate good or bad to help keep us in check.
However I feel that there are several points of the conversation you and myself had, which you have chosen to omit from your comments and review.
Firstly on answering your telephone call, you engaged the conversation with an onslaught of loud, abusive and somewhat aggressive language regarding the quality of the goods you had purchased from us. Having waited for your rant to calm I then immediately told you that if you returned the good’s we would refund you.
You then informed me that you had cut the match boarding to 450mm lengths. My response to you asked, why you had cut the timber having seen that it was not fit for the purpose you intended. Having not seen the goods you collected from us, I then again asked for you to return them so I could look further into the issue and you went into a further rage of shouting and swearing about how poor these 20 lengths of matchboard were, at this point I cancelled the conversation.
I then answered your second call and responded to you with exactly the same manner you had spoken to me, which is why I am amazed in your comments that you were shocked, given that you clearly called with the intention of an argument. It also beggers belief that you even mention the pandemic as during the call you referred to it as just a cough.
You mention the plywood you received also had defects, however this was not mentioned during our conversation and you have chosen not to include any photos of said plywood in your review.
I have taken the trouble to photograph our current stock of match board, both in the shrink wrapping and opened and see no quality issues or mould. I have also included an image of a plywood sheet taken from the same pack as the sheet you received and again as you can see it is perfect condition.
We have also taken the time to look at some of your other trust pilot and google reviews and note that you leave many 1 star or 5 star reviews, so you are clearly a very difficult man to please.
I do however have to apologise that the match boarding is 1mm too thin that was my mistake. I wish you all the best with your bathroom match boarding project, it is clearly very important to you in relation to the other problems we are all facing currently.
Kind Regards
Excellent prices
