Charged for damage on a legal technicality
Everyone at the depot was very pleasant but they will promise you one thing and deliver another. Honestly I would avoid this company. We arrived for our 5 day hire in Belfast. Firstly we were told they didn't have the linen that we had booked and we'd have to go and buy our own, which they promised to pay for. Secondly - we discovered damage to a skylight bracket which was not visible when we picked the van up which meant we signed conditions forms in good faith. We alerted them to it within hours of leaving (after we'd first been shopping for linen and then the skylight blew open on the motorway almost causing us to crash!). We sent an email and were assured that was fine. On return we were charged for the damage and I had to fight tooth and nail to get our costs back for the linen, which we returned with the van. They have hidden behind the legal technicality of signing condition report. They are honestly just not trustworthy. There are plenty of other campervan hire companies. Do not choose this one.

Good Van but with disappointing bits on premium service options
Pick up and drop went smooth and well, with both members of the team very helpful.
This was our 3rd trip with Bunk, knowing what level of quality to expect we were a bit disappointed with the lack of towels, bedding etc not being provided even thought we had paid the extra premium for having these. However, the representative discussed with the manager and then offered a £100 credit. Please note: this was described as a service that "they were struggling to get a reliable supplier for on bedding etc" which I found disappointing to then know that this was not just a one off problem for the Belfast branch.
After using the van for 2 days we noticed our food in the fridge was freezing and the setting would not move from Max setting, this caused us to throw out various bits of food (sausages/ ham etc). Furthermore, we also noticed we ended up with 3 chairs and 3 tables but we were 2 adults and 2 children. we mentioned this to the staff upon return, to point this out but they simply mentioned this was a common fault in the fridge on the model of camper we had and also they thought one of the tables was the 4th Chair.
In summary, a good experience but with some disappoint in the extra over premium service we paid for.

They make their money off of damages not rentals!
I’m really disappointed to be writing this review, we had a really good experience until we got charged 750 Canadian dollars for damage. We returned the camper in perfect condition, there was a small scratch on the bumper we didn’t remember getting, however fair enough it was new from the original walkthrough. We bought the extra liability and the guy who did the walkthrough at the end said we probably wouldn’t be charged as there is already a lot of damage on that part of the bumper. Fast forward a week and we get an invoice for repair of this scratch, charging us for two hours of work and parts for painting a minor scratch…389.50 GBP. This is basically the max they could have charged us because of the extra liability we paid for, basically pay extra to pay less when they rip you off at the end. The invoice also said the payment was due on the 12th of August, they took it out of our visa on July 31st. We have contacted them for proof of the repair and how a small paint job could possibly cost this much. We were really looking forward to renting another van but I feel this company is ripping people off with their liability program and making money off people for minor damage. I would be very aware of extra charges before you book from this company.
Update: it’s nice the company can respond to a bad review but can’t return our emails asking for proof of repair.

Great 5 berth motorhome good company to hire from
The motorhome was new and in perfect working order it was pleasant to drive, the wing mirrors were a bit wider than what we were used to but it wasn’t an issue.

Unfortunately
Unfortunately, my experience with Bunk Campers was terrible. The camper van was not properly cleaned, and we had mechanical issues during the trip. Customer support was slow and unhelpful, which made the whole experience stressful and frustrating. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

Brillant Belfast Rental
Collected in Belfast from Paul, he was exceptional from the outset.
Helpful, explained everything really well and got us in a great mood by putting any stresses we had at ease and ensuring we would enjoy our trip to Glastonbury :)

A personal approach of the branch manager
The personal approach of the branch manager Paul Heading has made a huge difference. We knew Paul from an earlier rental period in 2023. This was main reason to come back. The campers are the same everywhere, it is always the people that make te difference

Great experience. I would recommend it to everyone.
This was a wonderful experience for us. The campervan was great we went many places that I didn’t think we could go. As a photographer, the freedom to be anywhere and stay up late or wake-up early was so nice. It allowed me the flexibility to take advantage of the blue and golden hours was key to getting great photos.
I would have given you five stars but we did not have heat for the first two weeks because we were not informed that the window latches above the heat exhaust needed to go behind the stops and not in the slots to ensure carbon monoxide did not come in. Because this was a new model there was no information on line and the support staff were not aware of it either. Please make sure the documentation provided to your customers is complete and the help staff also have this information. We had to take time out of our vacation to go into your Dublin facility to find out the issue.
Despite the inconvenience, I highly recommend Bunk Campers. Overall it was a terrific experience!

Did not let poor service ruin our holiday
Booked a specific campervan for our Wild Atlantic Way trip. On pick we were given a larger motorhome. Told campervans in repair shop. No prior communication so we had not choice but to take what we were given. Quick tour of the motorhome given and we discovered no cutlery, crockery or cooking pans. They took some from storage. On our first night we discovered other items on their inventory list on their Web site were not there either. Clearly no inventory check before giving to us. Problems encountered with use of some equipment resolved by text. Except the oven, it only worked once despite repeated attempts. Very clean inside so clear not used before. We did not let our poor customer experience affect our holiday but did had to modify some routes and park ups to take account of the motorhome size. Have hired campervans before and this was the most unprofessional company.

Van great, but....
UPDATE ** Answer from company offering to look into matter went nowhere, so just optics, empty offer**
Van itself was great. Problems started when pick up time was delayed an hour which threw our plans out, then there were problems with the fridge which caused further delay. Biggest issue was when we finally set off and got to our overnight stop. We discovered all of the kitchenware was missing. We had no means to make hot drinks or food, no dinner, no breakfast and had to further impact our schedule to source and buy a pan, cups, plates and cutlery. Company were skeptical at first and took a few emails to even get an apology. Afterwards they sent an offer of reimbursement which we were not happy with. They now ignore our emails and we are still waiting for them to refund our security deposit.

I recently rented a camper from Bunk Campers in Belfast and overall had a positive experience, though there were a few hiccups. The pick-up process could be better coordinated, as we were given different times and had to wait past 3:30 for a staff member to assist us. However, the staff were very thorough in explaining the vehicle features and safety procedures. We encountered some issues during our trip, like the absence of gas in the vehicle and some electrical problems due to a blown fuse, which was inconvenient. On a brighter note, the customer service team was cordial, although it took a while to get a response. The team in Belfast was brilliant and made our first-time hire easy and enjoyable. While there are areas for improvement, the overall experience with Bunk Campers was quite satisfactory.

Bunk Campers in Belfast provides a solid campervan hire service, earning a respectable 4-star rating. While there are areas for improvement, such as occasional issues with vehicle condition and communication during pickup, their team is knowledgeable and thorough during the vehicle walk-around. Despite a few hiccups with vehicle amenities and customer support response times, their Belfast staff are friendly and helpful, making the overall hiring process smooth and enjoyable. For future hires, better clarity and response time from customer service would enhance the experience, but overall, Bunk Campers offers a decent campervan rental service.
