I don't know if this is indicative of real estate agents in general, but the lack of due diligence done on a vendor meant we were seriously disappointed twice. First time vendor pulled out. Same seller then came back to us through Burchell Edwards (Burton on Trent) to ask if we were still interested. They had changed their mind. They then failed to instruct their solicitor for nearly a month even though it was meant to be a quick cash sale. Burchell said they're not responsible for what the seller claims. They have ignored my email since and knowing the vendor messed us about twice (we lost vast amounts of money), they now continue to sell the property after we pulled out due to lack of action. This is totally contemptuous and shows a complete lack of care and respect for the buyer.

Appalling service and that's a compliment. They never answer the phone or return calls. Gave them my house to sell but they failed on everything. Took weeks to arrange photographs then lost them for weeks. Waited weeks for a sale board to be told we had refused it (never did). Told me the property was live on the net, had to go to the shop to find they had forgotten to upload it. Missed loads of detail about the property which I had to point out. NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. Guys if you don't answer when I call, you're not answering potential buyers either. Decided to cancel the contract as it wasn't fit for purpose. Except, they have messed around and dragged it out. They (Carl especially) us a total waste of time

I bought this particular property 10 years ago from BE and the last tenant Emily found for me stayed for 7 years and left the property in very good condition. Emily has just found me 2 new lovely tenants. It must be sole destroying on occasion when so many viewing appointments are booked and tenants fail to show up , but thanks Emily for persevering!
Emily always answers my emails and phone calls the same day or following day if she's out of the office. I am an experienced landlord with properties in Birmingham and the North East, I deal with several agents, but I would happily recommend the service I receive from Emily, Eliza and BE, thanks again!

I am a professional landlord & moved over to Burchell Edwards (B.E. ) Some five years ago. I have completed numerous Lettings through B.E. & always found Emily to be extremely competent. Since Christmas 2023 we have completed on three new tenancies ( most recent 25.06.23) and all went smoothly.

Honestly the worst agency I have ever dealt with. They never pick up the line. Ever. We made an application and have had to chase daily for updates. I honestly think they are a scam company at this point. Keiran was lovely at first but since they took our deposit have proven to be a nightmare. Saddest thing is all I want to have is an update on whether or not we can progress but the rare time we do get through we are told the landlord is in China and still has not gotten back to them. This was 5 days ago.

ABsolute shambles from start to finish as a potential buyer. Went to view a property they were selling in Chelmsley (an area I know well and that has a number of roads that are non-standard construction). I arrive at the viewing to be `welcomed` by the least enthusiastic sales person I have ever met. Grunted a greeting at me and barely opened the door for me to view. 'Is the property standard construction?' I ask. 'Yes, it is', says grunty. I like the property and make an offer to be told the next day that, actually, now he has double checked the property is non-standard construction and unmortgagable! That's OK, I say, I've got £100k lying around doing nothing so why don't we use that. NOT! Must be licence to print money at the moment being an estate agent if this is anything to go by. When I asked why they don't tell potential buyers the status of the property from the outset he then blamed it on the poor little old guy who is selling the property saying that he didn't want to put people off! Disgraceful service from start to finish.

Fantastic work from Emily and Eliza at the Castle Brom office, who made a stressful experience of finding a home very easy through lots of communication. Thanks Ladies keep up the good work and all the best for future.

This is a message to tenant's. Please go elsewhere, find a different house.

If MOLLY has done your viewing run a mile. She lies, says things are included in the tenency that aren’t then denies it once you are in the house.

ALEXANDRA - Uses annual leave for her excuse to not replying constantly. To my record she was off 3 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December. She lies, she gaslights, she has no intention of responding to you. She ignores complaints, enquiries and request to escalate above her. She does not respond to senior staff at Connells or Burchell Edwards. And has even suggested to me that there is no management above her to complain to as she is the letting agent. This is after telling me she had requested the area management gets in touch with me…….three months later and after more request to escalate my complaint Adam gets in touch. Clueless of the situation.

ADAM CLIFF - Area Manager constantly searching for excuses for his staff’s mismanagement and lies. Seems to spend his time trying to de value and dismiss my complaints rather than resolving them.
He told me Molly and Alexandra denied telling me certain things were included. And that it was my word against theirs. Sent him emails as proof which he has ignored. And continues his argumentative and dismissive style of communication daily. This could have been solved months ago but Burchell Edwards culture seems to be a manipulation and delay response approach. This is nurtured from middle management down to apprentice.

Landlords please give your tenants a chance and stay away from this company. Tenants have little choice what letting agent they end up with. Also it would seem that we are in a managed property that has been completely mismanaged by Burchell Edwards and they are passing the responsibility on to the landlord costing her a fortune.

PLEASE GIVE THIS COMPANY A MISS if you do end up going with them my advice would be to communicate only in writing so there is a paper trail. Don’t ask question on the viewing ask them via email afterwards so you have answers in writing.

Mellissa was fantastic.
The process was lengthy being a part of a chain amongst other issues, though she kept us updated and pushed the relevant parties to reach the transfer of ownership.
We would definitely recommend Burchell Edwards to anyone looking to move.

Absolutely Shocking company who done EICR report .

We gave the our house to estate to rent out. Which needed EICR report so Burchell Edwards (Mansfield) who Hired electrician (B&P Electrical Installation Ltd) through Vibrant energy who quoted £1100 for the repair to pass the EICR.
Then found out Electrician only quoted £649 for repair but Burchell Edward and Vibrant Energy added their commission
more than 60%.

But the fun fact was that the property didn't require much repair at all. The New EICR and repair was done only for £120.

If I could give zero I would have. Scammers!!The shocking behaviour from them for letting our property out,so much delays and we never get informed or updated about anything no matter how much we chase our eicr failed and they quoted us £1100 and when spoken to the electrician he said he only quoted £650. And now with payment of our rent,they are trying to over charge us out of the contract and not paying us right amount. After chasing them since few weeks nothing has been sorted and we still haven't got our money back..never use burchell edwards.
The staff none of them are professional and never replies to your call or emails. Really disgusting behaviour and service. Mansfield branch is the one I used so please avoid.

Absolutely shocking service, what my partner had to put up with was just shocking, months and months of arguments, them not doing their job - no details passed onto sales progression team!! No one ever got back to him unless he literally harassed them or waited on hold until someone would speak to him, even then there was times when they would lie and say they were out of the office (they wasn’t just couldn’t be bothered to deal with it) but my biggest problem is they sell the conveyancing side to the buyers which are the completely inept premier property lawyers who just sit there and do nothing!! NEVER list your property with Burchell Edwards if you want to get anywhere!!

If you ever deal with a landlord called Sharon featherstone and her house to rent is on whitebeam road kingshurt Birmingham DO NOT RENT FROM HER! she is a nightmare.does not fix anything that needs repairing she plays victim that she is a single person and can’t afford to do repairs she then kicks you out when ever she sees fit and tries to extort money out of you.she has done this twice that we know off but she just switches estate agents.Solihul housing officers are aware of her.spread the word so she doesn’t make any other innocent families homeless

After a slow start with the buyers Solicitors being very slow and performing poorly. Connor took the reigns and pushed things over the finishing line. Glad you were able to step in and save the day. Overall a good result. Well done to team Ilkeston.

Olivia from Solihull branch was so laid back an made my renting experience calm despite a few hiccups on my own end. The whole team pulled together to help with any problems faced. Would always say Burchell Edwards team are great

Five stars for sales team, The sales side was amazing, but unfortunately the after sales was extremely poor and totally cancelled the good experience with the sales, if there were negative stars I would highly go for a -10.

Lack of communication, emails being ignored and communication was appalling, when chased on phone calls by me or email, the attitude I got from the team was poor and disgraceful. We are still getting nowhere, months later!!!

If you go for the amazing sales team in Sheldon, be prepared to deal with the after sales, emotionally and mentally!!

I recenlty used Burchell edwards Shirley on my property sale after using the sheldon branch in the past which was a positive experience. However shirley branch was terrible, initially they were good but once my property was listed and viewing started the process was awful. No communication regarding the viewings without me chasing and even had to go into branch to get feedback as i was getting nowhere fast. Ended up selling with them but only after pushing the team to do weekend viewings as they wanted me to do them midweek. I would never recommend this branch in my experience the worst agent ive ever dealt with.
