I was so impressed by the staff who…

I was so impressed by the staff who helpfully replaced my garden fork. I am extremely grateful. It was an easy straightforward replacement with no fuss. Thank you so much. We will be singing your praises and telling people about your fabulous service!

Hassle free replacement

Excellent Customer Service

Broke a garden fork digging up a rose bush - originally purchased through B&Q but out of the 12 month warranty from their store.
B&B replaced it within a week of my 'complaint', no fuss.
What refreshing customer service and thank you.

Brilliant customer service!

I called to enquire about how to repair our lawn edging tool that had a broken handle.
After sending a few pictures, the tool has been replaced under warranty with no fuss whatsoever.
Brilliant and customer service that is rare these days.

Happy wife - happy life!

An excellent company to deal with.
Stainless steel spade snapped without warning. Bought for my wife’s 60th birthday for her birthday nearly seven years ago. Replaced free of charge without hesitation by B&B.
My wife very pleased !

Broken spade



I purchased a spade from this company in support of businesses that manufacture their products in England. (Turns out they don't, after reading other reviews here.)
Unfortunately, the spade broke at the joint after minimal use in the garden. I share the concerns of others regarding the design, as the bolt seems to weaken the wood.

I contacted customer service and received a prompt response that replacement parts are not available. When I asked about possible solutions for repair, I was told, "I am terribly sorry, but we do not offer a fixing service. I understand this is frustrating and not very environmentally friendly, and I apologize for that."

Well that's that for UK made overpriced spades then.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. Contacted the team explaining a secateur issue and had a new pair sent out immediately. So glad I got these lovely tools for my big birthday, it's luxury gardening with them.

Good tools and excellent customer service

I am part of a small volunteer group making improvements to a local park. We have a number of Burgon & Ball tools which all do good service. One of our rakes broke. B&B replaced it without any hesitation despite it being well over three years old and without our being able to produce proof of purchase after that long. Good tools and excellent service.

Lifetime guarantee honoured

Some years ago i bought a border fork which has been in regular use, a favourite tool. When it broke recently I emailed some photos of it to B & B who without quibble sent a replacement, received the following day. Very pleased with their response.

Excellent customer service

Bought a spade about 4-6 months ago & over the weekend the blade bent, annoying as I didn't have a receipt anymore & not bought directly. However customer service has been excellent and a replacement was on its way to me in a matter of hours.

My B&B rake got damaged...

My B&B rake got damaged and without any quibble I was informed that it would be replaced. Excellent service from an excellent company. In these throwaway days of mass production and low quality, thank Goodness firms like B&B are still here. I shall definitely continue to purchase their high quality goods.

good customer service

I received a trowel set as a gift but unfortunately one item was missing. I received an immediate email response from Nancy, Sales Administrator, and a replacement set was sent out without delay. A shame that an initial packing error had been made, but I was pleased with the customer service to rectify it.

lifetime guarantee - excellent

I had a digging fork and the tines had bent badly. Despite the fact that I could not recall where I originally bought the fork, B&B kindly replaced it under their terms of guarantee. The replacement was delivered to my door within a few days. Very good service, I would say.

Lopped once, lopped last

I inherited my old loppers from my grandfather. They were 50-60 years old. But, the handles were bent and the blades dull. I therefore took the decision to treat myself to replacements from B&B’s National Trust range. Today, I had cause to use them for the first time. The handle snapped in half. On inspection the wood is of low-density and the design sees fastening bolts further weakening the handles. It’s no surprise that this item failed. I’m so dissapointed and now regretting throwing my grandfather’s trusty loppers away. I hope that B&B honour their lifetime warranty and make things right!

13/01/2025 - Update. B&B has responded and we are negotiating a resolution/replacement. Their customer services seems good, however I would recommend avoiding their wooden handled loppers for the reasons stated above. I'll provide further update and may adjust the star rating when we reach a conclusion.
