Started on Butchers approx 6 months ago which I've got to say my dog loves. Bought a box of 24 from Asda before Xmas which only had 23 tins in the box, after being unable to find who we could contact... See more

We have three very fussy dog's, and they took to Butchers dog food with gusto, we use the pouches, easy to handle, and share out if needed, we had a query about something, contacted the company, and they responded straight away, with a successful outcome, would highly recommend, both the product and customer services

Purchased a pack of dog food from Tesco and the first tin had been damaged and the food was rancid.
From the beginning Julia dealt with our query promptly and was extremely apologetic. She initially offered £5.00 as compensation, however, when I explained that this would not cover the cost of the tin plus fuel costs to Tesco Perth she was readily happy to agree a cost of £5.00.
She sent the link from NatWest and the money was in our bank account the next day.

I've been using butchers for my very fussy shihtzu for a few months now and he loves it . He loves the jelly in the tins of salmon and I buy him the lamb turkey and beef too . Over the years we have tried every type of dog food going even hypoallegic. So one day I bought him a tin of butchers and he woofed it down but I also noticed his skin improving . I don't know what isn't in this food but for the first time in years his skin is 80%clear . I avoid the chicken because I think chicken iratates his skin and it's hard to find multi packs without chicken so I'm pleased they sell the lamb beef and turkey because my dog likes variety 😄

I had an issue with one of the food trays so contacted Butchers via their website messaging service. I was astounded when I received a reply only hours later. This was from Julia in Customer Services who sent me a very helpful, friendly email asking for more details and pictures. I obliged immediately and then once again received a very quick reply from Elizabeth explaining how the issue probably occurred, information I found very interesting, and offering me a £5 voucher which I appreciated. I could not believe the excellent service I received, very rare in this day and age. I felt that I was actually being treated as a person as their replies were very personal to me and not scripted as so many are. Other companies should look to Butchers Customer Service for guidance on how to make a customer feel special, and heard! As regards their dog food, I use their Simply Gentle trays for my dogs as they have sensitive stomachs and it works, even though they are very picky and sometimes won't eat it but that has nothing to do with the quality of the food, which is good, just my little fussy mutts!

My miniature schnauzer, Betsy swallowed an acorn which lodged in her small intestine. She needed 2 major surgeries during which they had to remove part of her gut and stomach. She lost a lot of weight and couldn’t eat enough of her usual food due to her reduced stomach to regain the weight.
I changed her to Butchers and she has put back all her lost weight and is full of energy. She loves her new food.

I recently had to call customer service regarding an issue with packs of 24 trays Simply gentle dog food. My concern was dealt with by Mari and it was dealt with very professionaly.

Our dog, Patti, loves Butcher’s dog food. Recently I had reason to contact the customer service department and communicated with Mari. The service I received was exceptional, which unfortunately is rare nowadays. The issue was resolved quickly, efficiently and to a level beyond what I was expecting. Well done Mari and the whole team.

In general I've been satisfied with the tripe mix but recently have noticed that the food is very sloppy with no firmness which is what it is usually like.

This is for the Classic Cat Food range. My cats love it. They’re six and have never eaten any other brand of wet food. It’s grain and sugar free, which isn’t something you can say for the well known brands. Having had a previous cat pass away from CKD a grain and sugar free diet is essential. Comes in tins which I prefer over the non-recyclable pouches, and doesn’t cost the earth. It’s made from British produce too. Both my cats are bursting with health, their coats, eyes, weights, and gums are healthy (all signs of good health). I thoroughly recommend it.

Have used Butchers tripe dog food for a while and am generally pleased with the quality. However, bought one of the recent boxes of 400g x 24 tins, contained 9 tins that were just full of jelly with only a small blob of meat. Have contacted them 3x, but have not received a reply. It's disappointing that they respect their customers so little.

Have always fed my dog healthy heart grain free butchers dog food as it does not contain chicken which she does not tolerate. however after a pack of 6 had useless ring pulls that where not for for purpose , had to which Iuse a tin opener.
Contacted customer services and after a lot of to and froing they offered me £5 of my next purchase because they say I only complained about 1 can which I clearly did not.
I do not want their insulting token gesture just more quality control . Am now buying a more expensive brand and have had no issue with ring pulls.

Rotten dog food
Purchased £400 of Butchers tinned dog food, emailed 2 weeks ago to complain as multiple cans were of poor standard (some still sealed). Attached receipts, photos and still heard nothing back. I have kennels and multiple dogs had upset stomachs. Needless to say I will be returning the rest and looking for another brand to use!

Our cockapoo had only ever eaten dry food when we rehomed him last year. We started him on a mix of dry food and Butchers trays for dogs with delicate stomachs. Within a few weeks, he was picking out the wet food to eat, and leaving the kibble. Now, he still has a small dish of biscuits to nibble on, but wolfs his Butchers food down at every meal. He comes to tell me it’s food time, and loves trying out different flavours. We have a very happy, healthy dog now, who is full of energy - and I think a lot of that is down to Butchers. Good quality products, with a great range of textures and flavours, and a reasonable price for the quality, would totally recommend

I have always been happy with Butcher’s dog food and my dog does very well on the turkey recipe.
However, it now seems that many suppliers only sell the variety packs and no longer stock single tins.
My dog can only eat the turkey flavour, so buying a mixed/variety pack means most of the tins would not be used and go to waste.
It would be really helpful if Butcher’s could offer a multi-pack of just the turkey tins, or make sure suppliers continue to sell single tins.
The food itself is good, but the lack of single-flavour options makes it difficult for dogs with specific dietary needs.

Ive today opened a tin of tripe in jelly and its mouldy

Have used butchers dog food for over twenty years and until now I was happy. The consistency and meat content has been changed and things added with no warning anywhere! The food is sloppy and mouse like. My dogs definitely do not seem to enjoy as much as they used to

Great products that I have been very loyal to and used for years. Customer service is excellent and efficient. Jules C has been so helpful with an issue I felt they should be aware of. A lot of other companies could learn from their quality of service to customers. Well done 👏

After complaining about the amount of jelly in the tripe loaf variety and the watery content also in the tin , I complained and Julia offered me a £10 voucher , I told her that I had bought 4 boxes of x24 cans and they were the same not the normal standard , she then offered £40 as a bank transfer which I thought fair and accepted, our boxer girl is 10 yrs old and has eaten this tripe loaf all her life as other dog foods upset her stomach ,
All my emails were answered quickly and politely, by Julia and Taku also Liz thanks again for your help .

The customer service is very good . They go out of their way to resolve matters.
Even if it's not the outcome you are hoping for, they explain why and offer alternative guidance..much appreciated..thank-you

I have been feeding my dog tripe grain free for nearly 3 years as she has allergies to grain and the last 3 months every time I buy a box of six or more every tin has a different consistency and almost all of them have a ball of jelly in the middle of the meat and hardly any meat. The meats are all different colours and really unhappy with the product
