Started on Butchers approx 6 months ago which I've got to say my dog loves. Bought a box of 24 from Asda before Xmas which only had 23 tins in the box, after being unable to find who we could contact... See more

Julia C was so helpful when I enquired about ingredients in the Lean and Tasty range. My little senior Coco has some health issues and trying new food is problematic, but finding Lean and Tasty has been amazing as she loves it and it is a great quality food for her. Thanks Butchers for making a little dog enjoy her food again.

Had an issue with a defective tin, I imagine was down to the delivery driver rather than a dodgy batch. But Julia C was really understanding and explained how the issue would have come about and was incredibly quick to resolve it. Can't fault the company! Thank you!

I had Jules Cartwright help me with an issue I had, I bought 12 tins of butchers dog food and unfortunately there was a issue with transport and 1 of the tins had split open and to grow mold. Once we got the tins open and open the box we noticed this. I emailed the helping and they were more that helpful with the issue. They offered me a refund for the full 12 tins and were quick with the reply. Not only that my dogs love there food and they have always been very picky eater so its nice to see some good quality food and customer service.

Bought pack of 12 Butchers Tripe loaf from Tesco, 6 were badly damaged and had to throw away
Batch 000410 10/27 25330 16;53.
Packaging was intact, so Butchers must have knowingly put them in damaged, not the first time I've had this, it's only a matter of time before a dog dies of botulism poisoning.

I have a fussy cavapoochon who doesn’t really like to eat dry food. Would practically starve rather than eat dry food. I remember using butchers tripe years ago. So purchased some and mixed with the dry. My dog goes mad for it and licks the bowl clean. She has tried all the range and loves it all. My dog has put on weight since using it and is looking much more roly poly. We have 4 cats and they love butchers classic cat food. I love that Butchers are still one of the few companies that uses cans. Others have moved to sachets..less food and increased the price. I love that butchers is British made and they know a thing or two about quality ingredients. Please don’t change Butchers. Your food is quality and great value. Please please please don’t move to sachets.

We have fed our Labrador Butchers tinned food for a long time now. We had a bad experience with a tin in the summer, that was obviously off. We had not stored this any differently to normal.
The dog meat went everywhere! We quickly put our dog in another room whist we cleaned up. Did report this to Pets at Home, where we bought it. Then all was fine. Continued as normal. No further problems .
Then, recently , in the last month or so, Butchers has been making our dog violently sick. We will not buy it again and will discard the tins we have as we would not advise anyone to feed it to their dog.
As I said we have been buying this for years thinking it was a good product. For whatever reason it definitely does not agree with our Labrador now. It literally felt as if we were poisoning him.
We were very worried as we felt there was something seriously wrong and in a way were relieved to find it was the food but also upset that we innocently fed it to him.
He is fine now. He is now having the same food as we are. No more processed stuff. We feel much happier now we know exactly what he is having. And he has been fine, not sick at all since stopping the Butchers.

Having the top hunting Bloodhound in the country uk! as I’m writing this her name is Deirdre and her job is very high-level and to know that I have butchers tripe …( I do us the others) main one I use is the tripe! This helps to top up a kibble it keeps her stomach settled keeps her energy levels up …what more can I ask for and her coat is fantastic so thanks guys!! With Deidre having a massive competition coming up called the Brough cup… with the association of bloodhound breeders … I’m not worried about how she is gonna be feeling in side with this food
So thankyou

I have three dogs. I've been buying your food for years triple loaf . Unfortunately, for the past few months, instead of canned food, the canned food has been jelly... of course, I'm talking about food without jelly. Now your cans are just meatballs in jelly. I can attach photos. I don't recommend it.

I have been using this brand for several years with no problems,,,however during 2025 the recipe changed…the consistency wasn’t the same & my three dogs were still hungry when they'd finished eating….whilst they still enjoyed Butchers tripe loaf it wasn’t the same…..I’m starting to loose confidence in the brand & have found myself having to add additional nutrients….I am seriously contemplating look around for an alternative

I have just fed my 5 year old about 3 hours ago the lamb butchers choice that I bought in a 18 multi batch. I left her and my 12 week old pup unattended in the kitchen whilst opening the front door I was gone less than 2 minutes when I returned the pup had also eaten a little of her mums food few hours later both dogs where being violently sick throwing up everywhere. I have never seen anything like it pup does not go outside yet as just waiting for injection curfew to pass and is only allowed in secure garden and mum is fully vaccinated .I also do not give them human food only age appropriate treats and they hadn't had any they also have wainwrights dry kibble that is stored in airtight containers and have been on this since life stages and have had no issues I have reported this and will be taking both dogs to vet first thing in morning with remaining left over food

My fauve basset had a growth near her anel gland so both had to be removed she was struggling to poop on her usual dry food so I've swapped her to butchers canned meat gradually now all is good it's certainly made a huge difference and she enjoys her food
