Always thought this was a fab app but…
Always thought this was a fab app but recently been down for so long and the response has been false each time I contacted them as it's not working after each time they say it will
False promises
Promised to be up in 2.5 hours, I’d be added to a list and manually added to be working again.
5 days later and nothing, just a waste of time.

Excellent customer service and a great team
I have been with the company when it was Awaymo and cannot fault customer service at all. During a conversation with William today he has answered all my questions and was happy to explain the problems they are having. They are working hard to get the app up and running but sadly Sometimes technical faults are beyond our control and can’t be help. I would recommend before moaning on here to give them a ring first.

After speaking to William my App has been up and running since Friday. I have managed to order from two different websites and both have been delivered.

Ive been a customer for 3.5 years now since they were Awaymo and cannot fault the customer service, especially William who goes above and beyond to help me with any issues i may have.

From 5 star to 1 star
So I still sadly won't change my review from a 1 star.... although when they can be bothered to make contact their customer service is very professional and polite the rest of the company has gone so down hill it's unbelievable. Qhen I left my last negative review they then decided to make contact with me telling me of their new trial of only one purchase which is ridiculous. What they then went on to say was that they were trialling some customers customers being able to make more purchase than just the one. However I would need to have my account reviewed for this as it hadn't been reviewed for over 90 days however this was not correct and had actually only been done at the end of November so I pointed out at the end of January this was only in fact 60 days and wasnt due to be reviewed but to enable me to use my account for more purchases I did it anyway and renewed my banking access and low and behold they still didn't allow me to make any more purchases. I'd like to point out that if you look into my credit file I have NEVER missed a payment on ANY one of my credit accounts, I have never gotten into bad debt and not paid any of them NEVER any defaults or CCJs and can easily get £10k loan if I so desired but yet these say I can only make one purchase at a time on the shopping app. But guess what I can make as many purchases as I like for holidays. It officially makes no sense.

I've only ever had brilliant experiences using butter, and customer service is 5*. There seems to be a lot of unfair bashing in the comments because the shopping app has been down a while, however the travel side has been up and running just fine. Butter is definitely than Zilch and Clearpay

I've used this company since their Awaymo days and have nothing but great things to say about them and their excellent app and service. I will be using them for a long time to come and will happily recommend them to anyone! Big shout out to William who is always superb 😀

Great customer Service
I have been a customer since the awaymo days and have always found the customer service extremely helpful. During a brief conversation today all my questions were answered and the app was back up and running within an hour after my call. I know it can be frustrating but please try to get in touch with the butter team before slaughtering them here, I am sure they will be more than happy to help; as always.

Really fed up with the app and not…
Really fed up with the app and not being able to use it for so long after being down for weeks & only back up for a matter days with no changes despite that being cited as the reason for it being down . Has anyone else noticed that there’s been a change in their wording to the replies on here in the last week?
Previously they were assuring customers it would be back by 22/11/21 , however the last few replies there’s no mention of that date . It just says they hope to have it back up and running soon.
I’m not feeling hopeful for tomorrow. The only silver lining is - if it doesn’t work then your balance can only go down .

Following butters comments on here I did what was suggested and call customer service. Call was answered really quickly by a member of staff called William who was very polite , friendly , apologetic & professional. Credit where it’s due - these guys are taking the brunt of it . I know I work in customer service as well & bring an anonymous voice at the end of the phone makes you an all too easy target for angry customers but William doesn’t sound like he’s letting it get him down . He sorted out my app , sent me a text to confirm it was done , got me to log out & back in later & I’ve done a test purchase which worked fine . Thanks William . Butter - your customer facing staff are carrying you here . Let’s hope it’s all plain sailing from now on .

Redeemed themselves
Update: after the shambles of the weekend I can now say Butter have done all they can to amend for the original error.
They have put measures in place to ensure this doesn’t happen to others and are actively checking all other bookings made on the same date as my original booking to ensure no one else encounters the issues I was faced with.
On top of that they have refunded me and given me a generous gesture of goodwill to apologise for their mistake.

I love this app
I love this app. Can basically shop anywhere and it’s ideal when birthdays are coming up and your a bit skint lol. Unfortunately not 5 stars but only because the app had been down for so long. Christmas is coming and i need the app up and running or Santa ain’t coming. Anytime ive had to contact customer services they have been great and get onto whatever problem you have straight away. My next payment is due the 20th so please please get the app up and running 😊

Great way to spread the cost!
I love shopping with butter. The best thing about it is how you can spread the cost over 10 months which is the most any finance company offers. The downside is the fact that there is always transaction fees so you end up paying more than what you’re actual purchase is which I don’t think is fair.
