Sold my phone through them and like everyone else, waited 7 weeks+ for a payout. Kept getting palmed off with excuses how busy they are etc etc. wrote an official complaint last night (template off of... See more

Avoid Buy UR
My wife and I recently used Buy UR to trade in our old iPhone 13s after seeing a recommendation from MSE.
We have to say, it was an appalling experience. On day one we were both "offered" £280 each for our phones. Loads more than Apple had offered us for a trade in and armed with the MSE recommendation we signed up.
The email came straight away (15th August) we prepared our phones which were in very good condition (took photos ahead of dispatch) and sent them off. My wife had an email a few days later to say her phone was in very poor condition with loads of scratches etc and they would offer her £70. This was not the case as we were able to prove with photos. She declined the offer, they then increased to £90 (rejected), £110 (rejected) and finally £170.50 which we reluctantly accepted. Despite saying the money would be with us within 5-7 working days it took 10 days.
My experience was even worse. It took them two weeks to acknowledge they had even received it (I chased it twice) despite having confirmation from Royal Mail and then it took another two weeks to get an offer. Exactly the same as my wife and all the same reasons - £70, £90, £110 and then £170.50. After accepting the offer, it then took nearly three weeks for them to pay out (money received on the 26th September).
All in all, I would recommend you avoid this company as they are clearly trying it on - offering non existent offers which they have no intention of paying out on to entice you in and then claiming the phone is damaged to try and make more money themselves.
nothing short of a scam
My experience buying a phone from UR.co.uk was frustrating and disappointing. I placed my order on a Sunday morning, but by Tuesday, it still had not been shipped. Communication from the company was minimal, and there was no clear update on delivery times. The website gave the impression of reliability, but the lack of transparency and delayed shipping left me uncertain about whether the order would be fulfilled.
Additionally, the customer service experience was poor. Attempts to contact them for clarification were met with slow or unhelpful responses. Overall, the process lacked the professionalism and efficiency expected from an online retailer. Based on this experience, I would caution others to be wary of potential delays and limited support when purchasing from UR.co.uk.
wish i could give ZERO stars. Nothing but a scam!
Never again
This company offered me £58 for my iPhone. I gave them accurate information about its model, age and condition yet when I sent it to them they reduced their offer to £25. It then took them 4 weeks to pay me. This company is not to be trusted.
Untrustworthy company
Tempted by their advertised £145 offer. Sent my iPhone SE 3 to them in original retail packaging. They made several actual offers starting at £45 and rising to £95. I asked them to return my phone.
It came back in an envelope minus original retail packaging. When I challenged them about this, no response.
So far as I am concerned they have devalued my phone. If I list on eBay I’m not going to get what I would have with original retail packaging.
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. They offer you an attractive price for your phone online, then you send it to them and they report back to say there are lots of things wrong with the phone to then offer you less than half what they promised online. My phone was in excellent condition and everything worked. They reported to say the camera, microphone and video didn’t work. I asked for the phone to be returned to me and they offered a little more twice. I still rejected this as it was way below what they originally offered me. The phone was returned and it arrived back with marks and chips out of it. I tested the camera, video and microphone all was working fine. Sent the evidence to them and the images of the damage before and after as I took photos before I sent to show how immaculate the phone was. Guess what, no reply from them even though I raised a formal complaint. A proper company would always investigate a formal complaint but this company is not professional or honest from my experience.
Failure to deliver
I sent my phone to UR.com on 15 August and more than 10 days later it still hasn’t been processed or paid for. Their own policy promises a much quicker turnaround, yet I’ve had no update.
I’ve tried calling multiple times, but was left on hold for over 20 minutes each time without ever getting through to an agent. I was told last week my case would be prioritised, but nothing has happened.
Right now, they have my phone and my money, which is unacceptable. Unless this is resolved immediately with payment or the return of my device, I will have no choice but to escalate this formally through Trading Standards and the Consumer Ombudsman.
I would strongly urge others to be cautious before sending devices to this company.
I wanted to sell my iPhone 14 128GB but am being scammed.
I wanted to sell my iPhone 14 128GB, I decided to search on MoneySupermarket.com and looked for best deals, most companies were offering to buy the phone for £265. As UR.co.uk (a brand of this company was offering £340, I decided to go for it). I checked the details and they arranged PayPal payment after a day. All looked good.
Sent off for a Royal Mail pack to send it in. After 2 days, last weekend the box arrived. I immediately posted the phone.
After waiting nearly a week, also having to complain to both MoneySupermarket.com and UR customer services, they sent me a revised offer of only £120!!!
They said the phone had both heavy and light scratches on it. This is an absolute lie unless they have scratched the phone themselves. I took great care of the phone and it was ALWAYS kept in a case.
Then they said the battery was only 79% and would have to be replaced. Even with a battery change which would cost them maybe £60, they still only end up offering half what the phone is actually is worth. This downgrading of the phone was in order for them to maximise profits and basically scam me. I will be reporting the matter to trading standards and if I do not get an acceptable offer, I will also be attempting to take out a CCJ as a matter of principle.
They used misleading advertising and a false and unrealistic price to get the top of the comparison list.
Took over a week to offer a price then…
Took over a week to offer a price then offered a reduced price than first quoted .
5 weeks later and nothing, I have requested the phone be returned or payment and still nothing.
Do not use this company , terrible customer service who just make excuses.
Still no payment – completely unacceptable
I sold my phone to this company on 18th July. It’s now the end of July and I still haven’t received my payment.
I’ve contacted them several times — all I get is copy-paste replies blaming “system delays” with no explanation or timeframe. Phone calls are ignored.
I sent my phone in perfect condition and even included the IMEI number and photos. If you can’t pay people, you shouldn’t be taking their phones.
I’ve now reported the company to Citizens Advice and Action Fraud. I strongly advise others to avoid using them.
This has caused me serious stress and financial difficulty. I just want either my payment or my phone returned.
Should be a zero rating
Should be a zero rating. Scammed me !! Sent an empty box. How can this company still be able to trade???? They sell on amazon, they say they will ban them as a seller now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
They scratched my screen and offered £140 less 💩
Offered £369 for my iPhone 13 Pro Max (which WAS in almost new condition). When I sent it they offered me £230… then £255… then £310 final offer. I opted to get my phone back, and it came back with scratches on the screen that weren’t there before. DO NOT USE!!
Scammers
Would give 0 stars if possible. DO NOT use this company.
Received a competitive offer for my phone. I photographed it all round and carefully backed it and sent it in. Revised offer nearly £200 lower.
I made contact, no response, chased and had to resend complaint. Requested evidence of the alleged damage, they finally came back and said it's too late phone had been repaired.
SELLER BEWARE. THIS COMPANY WILL CON YOU.
Disappointed with the price paid for iPhone
Was quoted £47 for my iPhone.. which was in great condition. By the time Buyur had finished they only gave me £20! Although this in my view was unfair, the company knows it’s a lot of hassle to ask for it back and re-sell, so like me most just accept the (hugely) reduced quote. They know exactly what they’re doing and shouldn’t quote so high as I doubt they ever give full value. Disappointed.
Very bad company to sell your phone…
Very bad company to sell your phone with. Didn’t keep their arrangement and agreed price of iPhone 15 Pro selling with my son and tried to bargain. Having said that after they received and tested the item it will be paid the same day but they didn’t acknowledged the price agreed and tried to bargain in the last minute and up until now, hadn’t paid the item. Do not trust this company to sell your mobiles if you need money as it’s not instant pay out.
If I could vote 0 stars I would
If I could vote 0 stars I would.
Sent the phone, got offered an amount that was an insult. Rejected it. Repeat this a few times until I accepted it out of frustration. Advised on 30th June that payment had been made. Now it has been over the maximum 7 working days to receive payment and it has not been received. Not sure whether asking for the phone back out of principle would have been more or less hassle than accepting the offer and not being paid. Now I have to waste more time chasing them to pay me.
Don’t bother using this company. It’s not worth the stress.
This company is hit and miss
Just to be fair I have recently slated this company for giving me personally the run around with a phone I was going to sell them.
Today however they contacted my wife who was also selling her old phone , having made her an offer of £61 initially then revising that down to £24 and then up to £40, today one of their staff contacted my wife ,apologised for the revision to her initial quote and told her if she was still happy with the initial quote she would insure she got the payment today , so she agreed and believe it or she has just had the money paid into her account this afternoon .
So it's not doom and gloom for every customer , thought it only fair to share
Don't send these people your used phone. You will regret it.
These people trap you by advertising the best price for your phone. You send them the phone then they tell you that it's slightly scratched so they offer you much less - in my acse nearly half - and then they don't pay you anyway!! The firm seems really dishonest. i wish would have read the online reviews - my experience is no way unique!!
Where’s my money
Sold them an iPhone for a reduced / revised price as it was for daughters pocket money jar, was happy with the reduced price they offered as phone was just lying around however day 7 and no payment !! 2 emails sent, 3 online chats ignored and can’t get through on the phone after trying all day yesterday. If payment isn’t recieved today I am contacting the police , action fraud and any other organisation that can stop this scam .no bacs payment takes this long .
Still waiting for my money from this…
Still waiting for my money from this company been over the 7 days now, tried calling the number all day and no one ever answers, no response from my emails either.
Regretting using this company now seems a lot of other people having the same issue
Horrendous service
WHERE IS MY MONEY??
This company is a scam!
This company is a scam!!
They offer the most competitive price online then once they receive it drop the price drastically claiming there are issues etc. after I requested my phone back they then decided to offer me a much higher price (how is that possible if they say there are issues) received the phone back and there is a scratch on the phone that wasn’t there before. Proved by date stamped photos. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I really wish I had read the reviews first!!!
