Very good trip! The walking was outstanding, such a beautiful part of the world to visit and experience at walking pace. Some lovely towns and villages along the way. Good time of year to do this in... See more

CaminoWays were absolutely fantastic from start to finish when we walked the Camino from Sarria to Santiago
I would thoroughly recommend

From the very beginning, CaminoWays made our trip effortless! It was Outstanding in all aspects! The hotels chosen were were clean, and reflected a cross section of the countryside we were traveling in. We stayed in "rural hotels" , one which was a 200 year old converted water mill! It was incredible! Not only was it comfortable, but the meals were delicious! We also stayed in very ultra-modern hotels, that were very luxurious as well. It really gave us a flavor of the different areas we were staying in as we traveled between Sarria and Santiago. I enjoyed the different accommodations and people we met along the way immensely! The luggage transfers were seamless and on time. And pick-up calls were on time as well. The whole experience was exceptional, due to CaminoWays expert planning and execution. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

Camino ways were helpful, knowledgable and patient from start to finish. Only criticism is with some of the accommodation/dinner standards through out the trip, it varied form 4* luxury to 1* basic/comfortable room but terrible food! Also the luggage company decided after 3 days that suddenly our bags were too heavy incurring extra costs, Camino ways communicate very well with us, but could do nothing for us. I still fail to understand how the same company can suddenly decide the bags are too heavy and there is nothing we can do about it! So pack lightly and make sure you are under weight! I would still recommend Camino Ways as an agent. We did the Portuguese route starting in Viano da Costello, with taxi transfer from Porto and then back to Porto airport from Santiago.

We missed our flight, and lost our luggage, but caminoways.com was there the whole way for us.
When we missed our flight, i reached out to caminoways through the Whatsapp channel. their staff was very accommodating and offered us alternative options.
When we lost our luggage, they even made suggestions on what to buy and how to get them.
Great customer service, even through the stresses of losing luggage and missed flights, i felt the caminoways team was always on my side and supporting where they can.

Camino Ways were great when planning the route (Portuguese Coastal), quotes, providing information in the portal and arranging the trip. I was really happy with the prompt reply and action/work around when there was an issue with the reception hours at the first hotel.
There were no issues with any of the hotels booked during the trip however, some were a lot better than others. Meals provided were generally great and again, some were much better than others. Luggage transfers worked well. I would recommend Camino Ways and be happy to use them again.

We had never used a bag service on previous Caminos. Camino Ways did an excellent job...our bags were delivered to their destinations without any issues.
We did encounter an issue with one of the accommodations. It was not the fault of Camino Ways and they were good to work with in rectifying the situation.

Everything worked out great! One hotel did not look great online, so we asked to be moved to a different hotel and our request was done with no questions asked! All breakfast offerings were sufficient (some better than others) and fueled us well for our walk.

Accommodations were as described in our package, all breakfasts were great and luggage was delivered before we arrived at each location.

The company selected great accommodations that were always clean and easy to locate. We made one request to change and they gave as an even better option at no extra cost.
Luggage was always there and on time!
Very happy and amazing experience!

This was our fourth camino trip and the most disappointing.
No evening meals were provided and we were not informed until we contacted Camino! After a long day walking e.g. 27 kms, it is nice to know where one can have a meal!
Two of the hotels were rather poor choices - third floor without a lift; rather hostile hosts who did not even understand English.

found generally solid accommodations. Good help planning route. However, distances were fairly consistently underestimated leading to some unexpectedly long days. In addition, when my luggage was not transported, you tried everyway you could to blame me before solving the problem (that was your problem). That was the only big issue I had and I'm thankful since the help/customer service was not great.

Accommodation, meals, and luggage transfers all worked seamlessly.

From start to finish, I found CaminoWays a truly professional company to deal with, especially Gisa and Laura. Our email correspondence was quick and efficient and answered any of the queries I had. One of the best things about CaminoWays was that each of our group of 12 could pay off their individual portion of the cost of the trip…very convenient. I have been on 3 Caminos with 3 different companies, but would not hesitate to use CaminoWays again and recommend this company to others.

Really enjoyed travelling with camino ways..guide was very good, very knowledgeable of the area, really took great care of the group and was super kind and friendly. The accomodation were top quality and the restaurants were the best. I could find no fault with the company.

I had the best time. Everything was perfect. Our accommodations were great and the breakfasts were so good, miss them everyday. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Logistics and pre-trip communication was poor. As if the planner had no clue what the route was. Examples below.
Itinerary had us starting Day 1 in Matoshinos. However, the start of the Camino Portuguese is at the Cathedral— 13 kilometers before Matoshinos. We had to walk that piece upon arrival from the U.S.—the day before our start—to avoid a 40 km day because you didn’t book a day of lodging to allow the walk to Matoshinos. This was a huge miss by your planners.
Spiritual Variant and Boat: If taking the boat from Vilanova de Arousa, and CW has no control over the boat departure times, and can’t guarantee a late-day departure, CW needs to 1) tell the client that it could be a 7:30am departure, and 2) itinerary needs to include another day accommodations to allow for the client to walk from Armenteria to Vilanova de Arousa (25 km). Then take the boat the next day. CW failed to book the accommodations and some of us had to miss a whole day of walking because CW missed adding Vilanova de Arousa to the itinerary. And it took 48 hours for anyone to respond on the “emergency” contact. HUGE miss on the scheduling of accommodations, route planning, and communication with “24-hr emergency line”.
One of our scheduling criteria was no more than 24 km per day. Yet EVERY day was much longer. CW needs to do a better job of matching up hotel locations with the stages and providing accurate mileage between hotels.
The “Superior” rooms were far from superior. If there aren’t superior rooms at every stage, you need to communicate that in advance to manage your clients’ expectations. A few of our “superior” rooms were actually hostels. Some were 2 star quality.
Our group of 8 were booked in 3 different towns —some 7 kilometers apart—even though our reservations were linked.
In three locations provided incorrect addresses for the accommodations, resulting in us walking out of our way and having to backtrack up to 1.5km after a long day of walking. Pre-trip communications need to provide the client with a map that shows 1) location of hotels on the map, and 2) accurate addresses and 3) accurate distances between hotels.
While I had a reasonably good experience with CW last year on the Frances, I can’t express how deeply disappointing Camino Ways has been this trip.

Overall a very good experience. No issues with transfers of luggage or the taxis. Some of the Bed and Breakfast’s were not of the “premium status” as far as accommodations or food service.

The website (layout, travel documents, guidebooks, detailed maps to hotels) was excellent. Bikes did not have a detachable top pannier bag as depicted in the video. Had we known this, we would have brought small backpack or camelback for valuables, but all worked out in the end. All in all, couldn't have asked for better, seemless support.

I have just returned from the Guided Walk in Tuscany on the Via Francigena, and I have had the most wonderful time and experience. The whole process of booking was so easy, I was able to contact the team with any queries which were always promptly dealt with. The route, the hotels, the food were all way past my expectations - superb. Our Guide Sara was absolutely fabulous and completed the wonderful expectations. I will not hesitate to book with you again and I thank you for such an amazing holiday
