Don't use this company
Can't cancel due to covid so it would have been illegal to go. Still charge extortionate fees despite paying over £500. The owner of this company was obviously touched inappropriately as a child and hates people to have such an Draconian cancellation policy. Rats

I really appreciate the inclusion of insurance. Although it would be helpful to have an explanation of what deductible means.

Terrible Service
Terrible Service. Rented a camper for a Glasto 2020. Festival cancelled and they took £500 deposit and want another £90 cancellation fee. Nearly £600 for a camper I never got to use. What a joke of a company!

Our Customer Support has let us know that there has been a lot of communication regarding this issue. Through Camptoo you book a rental period for specific dates. It is possible to request a date change on our website as has been done to change the first period. When the date change or a cancellation has not been requested before then the rental period stays on the same dates and the owner prepared the vehicle and could not rent it out as it is already reserved.
For this the cancellation policy is in place and the costs are rightfully for the owner.

I used the site to hire a camper van for my grandson and his partner.They had a great time and the camper was more than they expected.The camptoo site was easy to use and had a wide variety of vans to choose from.I would recommend this company.

In February 2022 we rented a 6-bed motorhome for an 18-day family trip around the UK in July 2022. Around the same time, we also paid for flight tickets, campsites, attractions, etc. We are a Chilean/Spanish family of 6; three adults and three kids.
The motorhome profile in Camptoo clearly stated "suitable for international driving licences", an attribute we explicitly sought out.
Unbelievably, just three weeks before our trip, the owner cancelled our booking! She argued that her insurance company declined to insure me, a 45-years-old adult with accredited, flawless driving and penal antecedents who drove around Scotland for one week a few years ago without any inconvenience. The reason? "You don't have enough experience driving in the UK".
I think this is unacceptable. Having "enough experience driving in the UK" was never stated as a condition for renting the motorhome, and the owner had plenty of time (three months before our trip) to realise I would not be insured and warn me with enough anticipation to allow me booking another option or changing our vacation plans.
Her negligence left my family and me without vacation and a lot of expenditures already incurred unusable. Camptoo, on the other side, refunded our reservation deposit, but basically washed their hands, ignoring that it was on their website that misleading advertising took place.

We are so sorry to read that your vacation could not continue as planned because of an issue with the insurance.
Before your trip you have had to hand over documentation to the owner to put you on their rental insurance. Some insurances are quite strict and they have confirmed to the owner and Camptoo to not be able to provide a cover for this. Not only you but the owner and Camptoo regret that this had to happen and it was out of everyone's control.
The Customer Happiness team has put much effort into finding similar vehicles with different insurance companies to help you find a replacement to continue your trip, but we have not had a reaction or seen you rebook. We hope that you have been able to find an alternative and that you are still able to continue your plans. We regret not being able to find a solution to your satisfaction within Camptoo.

Nice trip with some troubles
Nice family with four children rented my motorhome. They made an awesome trip to Danmark, Legoland and Sweden, Gothenburg. Camptoo reservation platform was easy to use, comfortable and reliable for both sides.
Unfortunately some robbers broke in the motorhome during the visit in amusement park. Luckily we both had good insurances, and got compensated the harms quite soon. So, friends, keep your insurance coverage in order!

Great company and straight forward to use. I signed up to rent my camper out in January. Was abit quiet for the first few months but our travelling seasons do not start till around the end of April so it’s to be expected. I’m booked out for the whole summer now and even had booking for next year 😊
