Listed only with Carsales for a full month Paid top dollar for a Premium Advertisement and got nothing but crappy people either trying to fraud me or making dumb requests. Listed on GumTree and sold in 1 week - sorry I am a detractor - I wasted my money with Carsales trying to I sell my Campertrailer.

Great exposure and interest. Sold in a couple of weeks. Very happy.

Easy to list and edit ad. Good communication tools as well.

Ridiculously expensive, antiquated ad lodgment process, long delays getting ad up.
Other online avenues are better and often free.

Selling the caravan was a simple process through caravansales.com It was easy to put up and manage the ad. Communicating with interested parties was also very easy.

I received a surprising number of serious enquiries within only days of creating the ad. It sold within less than a week and I got what I wanted for it. It was a convenient and streamlined way to sell my van.
It was worth the $120 fee to list the van.

I appreciated the fact that I was one step removed from direct contact with sellers being able to respond to them first by secure messaging. There were a few despicable responders, but most or the 11 who did respond were genuine. The warnings given on the caravancampingsales site were of great value to protect from scammers and conmen. When there was a minor problem with my advertisement, the staff who contacted me, promptly, dealt with the difficulty in a pleasant and professional manner.
I received no useful response from a parallel Gumtree ad.

I think our target audience for our Jayco swan was to young for your website.
We got a heap of enquiries Via face book and a few via Gumtree with even less through your website which is supposed to be number 1. In the end we waisted our money advertising here.

Having sold my 4WD a few months ago on Carsales.com, I needed to sell my beloved Tvan. Placing the ad was easy and painless; before Christmas there were very few enquiries, but after refreshing the ad a couple of weeks ago, there were several enquiries. Today I sealed a deal and banked the proceeds. I had to lower my sights a bit, but I needed my garage back!
