Do not ignore the bad reviews!!

I purchased a vehicle from Car cart back in January 2025, the car then developed a serious engine problem less than three months into having it, rendering the car unusable. When addressed to the lady on the car cart after sales team, they informed me that due to my neglect, the car had developed this issue, despite having evidence from a garage suggesting this was an issue that should have been addressed by Car Cart before the sale and by no means was caused by me, they still refused to address the issue.

It is beyond me that they would make such a ridiculous and insulting statement, as the car had a relatively low amount of miles put on it since purchase. This was a clear attempt to shift blame and avoid dealing with the faulty vehicle they had given me. The after sales lady then proceeded to make numerous claims that were untrue, such as making up dates and versions of events, despite there being tangible evidence to prove otherwise, which often led to her contradicting herself.

Trying to get a response back from the after sales lady has been a complete nightmare. If you are lucky enough to get a response, it will come several days later, and they do not answer the phone ever. There is zero accountability and even less urgency, making this the worst interaction I’ve ever had with any establishment.

The only saving grace of Car Cart is the sales team, especially Jason, as he was the only person on the Car Cart team that seemed to care and try to get this resolved. If it weren’t for him, I would’ve been left completely in the dark with no support whatsoever.

If you enjoy purchasing vehicles with underlying issues, an unresponsive after-sales team, getting blamed for problems you didn’t cause, potentially entering court disputes and experiencing extreme stress then Car Cart is the right place for you.

Response to their response:

While you claim the vehicle was fully inspected and free of engine issues at the time of sale, you also acknowledge that I reported performance problems from the very beginning. You further state that I continued using the vehicle for three months, during which the issue worsened. This directly contradicts your assertion that the fault was not present at the point of sale, as your own statement confirms the issue existed from the start and progressively deteriorated.

By admitting the problem was ongoing from the beginning and worsened over time, you effectively acknowledge that the vehicle was not in satisfactory condition when sold. This undermines your claim that the car passed inspection with no faults. If the issue was present from the outset as you yourself have stated then the responsibility for supplying a faulty vehicle rests with you.

This is a clear contradiction, and it’s beyond me how Car Cart can stand by such a self-defeating statement. On one hand, they claim I neglected an issue that was present from the start effectively admitting the car was faulty at the point of sale. On the other hand, they insist the vehicle was fully inspected and fault-free when sold. Which is it?

If the car was indeed sold in perfect condition, then there was nothing for me to neglect. But if, as they claim, I drove it while a known issue worsened, they’re acknowledging the fault existed from day one making them responsible for selling a defective vehicle. Whoever drafted their response clearly missed this contradiction, and it reflects poorly on both their logic and their commitment to customer service.

Dear Adam,

We acknowledge that you are experiencing a major issue with the vehicle, and while we understand your frustration, we must be clear that we do not accept responsibility for the engine fault that has occurred.
At the time of sale, the vehicle was fully inspected and road-tested, with no signs of misfiring or engine issues. The problem you are now facing developed over time and has been identified as a result of a contaminated cylinder plug.
You informed both us and the garage you later visited for diagnostics that the vehicle wasn’t performing as expected from the start. However, you continued using the car for approximately three months, during which time the issue worsened and ultimately led to severe engine damage. Ongoing use of a vehicle while it’s not operating correctly can result in further complications for which we cannot be held accountable.
We have previously explained that if you disagreed with our position, we would arrange an independent inspection by a third-party expert. We even offered you the opportunity to select the inspection company from an approved list. Furthermore, we made it clear that if the inspector found the fault was present at the point of sale, we would carry out repairs at no cost to you. Despite this, we have not received any response from you regarding the inspection offer.
To be clear, we remain confident in our assessment and our process. If you wish to move forward with the independent inspection, we are still prepared to arrange it. Please inform us if you are willing to proceed.

Regarding your recent response to us:

We would like to clarify that the vehicle underwent a full inspection and passed all relevant checks prior to sale, confirming it was in a roadworthy condition at that time. We take every reasonable step to ensure our vehicles meet the expected standards of safety and performance before leaving our premises.

We acknowledge that you contacted us post-sale to raise concerns about the vehicle’s performance, and we responded by offering support and guidance. However, it is important to note that during your visit to the third-party garage, it was you who advised them that the vehicle had not been running correctly since collection. This concern was based on your account rather than any formal diagnosis made by either ourselves or the garage at that time, while the vehicle was in your possession.

Our reference to you continuing to drive the vehicle over a period of time is not intended to assign fault, but to explain how the lack of a diagnostic report or technical evidence early on makes it difficult to determine the timing and cause of any emerging issue. Without contemporaneous evidence from the initial stage, we are unable to conclude that the vehicle had a fault at the point of sale.

Purchased a Range Rover

Purchased a Range Rover last month, since purchasing a bag of crap from trade centre I was extremely worried about being sold another! 😬

But car cart were extremely helpful, they even went above and beyond to change something requested on a vehicle I wanted to purchase. Once I purchased the car, I went and had it inspected as I always do.

The breaks needed changing (still within legal
limit ) but would have needed changing in a couple of months. I let car cart know and they have replaced my front breaks the next working day.

Car runs smoothly, extremely happy with it.
The vehicle has two years warranty, which puts your mind at ease.

Thanks car cart! I would definitely recommend👍🏼

Avoid this company they was made to have the faulty car back

🚩🚩This company should have massive poles outside there gates and have massive red flags attached to it 🚩🚩
I took this company to COURT AND THEY WAS ORDERED TO TAKE THE CAR BACK..
I do have a 10 minute video of how the car is underneath. I do understand some cars do have some things wrong, but not to the extent that land rover, says its not roadworthy and the court said for the amount I paid for it, it should be roadworthy.

I brought a RANGE ROVER EVOQUE (SA61 FKZ) on the 27th April 2024.
Straight away they lied, adversitied as one owner, then when we questioned ourself, as we did see other cars online, the SALES person looked back at the log book and changed his mind and told us there was 6. But there is actually 8. He then said it only had been in the day before another lie, as the service book was stamped and signed 10days previous
And there documents to court says start of April.
I heard a noise, so i took it back to them. But two of there mechanics could not find a fault with the car. But blamed it on the new steering rack, and told me to go to land rover, as it needs time to break in, failing to fix the fault, I took it to land rover, which did a health check on this car. They found many problems such as
Where the noise was coming from, that car cart couldn't find
🚩FRONT EXHAUST MOUNTINGS, RUBBERS AND FIXINGS MISSING
🚩REAR PARKING SENSORS FAULTY
🚩OIL LEAK FROM OILSIPSTICK
🚩O/S/F DRIVESHAFT BOOT LEAKING FROM OUTERBOOT
🚩O/S/F ANTI ROLL BAR LINK BOOT SPLIT
🚩OIL LEAK FROM EGR COOLER
🚩N/S/R INNER DRIVESHAFT BOOT SPLIT AND LEAKING
🚩 UNDERTRAYS DAMAGED AND FIXINGS MISSING
🚩REAR EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD DAMAGED
🚩OIL LEAK FROM TURBO PIPE
🚩ALL FOUR TYRES CRACKED
🚩LOADS OF DENTS IN THE CHASSIS
🚩SCREWS DRILLED INTO THE FLOOR ITS SELF, IN THE WRONG PLACE.

🚩THE MILEAGE AS BE CLOCKED back by 43,000+ miles please check hpi checker.
I was told the car was not road worthy, and I had to have it towed back. So that's what I did.

I informed the sales team, and few of the MANAGEMENT TEAM
they refused to refund me, even though I was in my 30days. As it was only 11days. They took that long it went over 30days then refused past this time,
The car is not at satisfactory quality and in breach of the s9 in the same reason, if a car can not be driven, its not fit for pursuant s10. Because its not roadworthy as landrover stated, and they are in breach of the CRA. And he knew I wanted to send it back, in the short term, but declined.

Please do your research on these people on Google.
The 3 month warranty doesn't mean anythink because they didn't want to fix anything intill I was taking it to court, that's when they agreed to fix the exhaust ONLY and refused to fix the other parts.
Do not be fooled, they will sell you a dud car, and offer you £3000 less for it at trade price

They will also ask for evidence of what's wrong with the car and make excuses. They will then attack your character and say you can't have a refund because you can't afford it,.I never once said this also I brought this car out right, no finance.

I took it to a small claims court, thinking it would be sorted straight away, or they would least take the car back. but I was always refused. So in that time from when I brought it, to now, I've lost loads of money, which could of went to the bigger courts as its was way over £10,000 in the end. Because of all the expenses of insurance, to have it sitting on the drive etc, so please they will drag it out, so don't bother with a,small claims court.
I've had to edit abit of my feeback, as they have reported it, because they don't like the truth being online.
And lastly, they paid part of my money, then refused to give me the rest till they took the car back. and said they will pay the rest by the deadline of 23/12/2024

Of course I said the car isn't going anywhere till full payment is made. They weren't budging neither was I. But finally they made the rest of the payment, and the car went 20/12/2024 I'm glad it's all over. Avoid this company,

Dont bring my mental health into this because if your company had passion, for your cars and customers. it wouldn't of took till to December to sort this and I wouldn't need, to take you to court to sort it. your response does not shock me, I see alot of, crappy responses to other people's reviews. It's not only me leaving reviews about wanting to take you to court. Or being sold a dud car, i will never step foot by a car dealer like you again. You think you can push people around and lie. And leave false comments back, I brought the car out right. I didn't have finance, I insured it, till it was collected, I brought another car out right, do not say I can't afford it. Apparently your company couldn't find a fault. But landrover could, If I could I would upload the report off landrover and the 10 minute video. I won my case, because the car was in that bad of condition, even the judge said for that amount of money. You want it roadworthy

Hello again, considering your behavior from the very next day after purchase such terrible reviews on every possible platform is not a surprise for me. I will try to be as short as possible and explain what happened. First of all you’re calling everyone who working at Carcart a liars but only one person who constantly telling lies is you.

The vehicle in question is 13 years old with the odometer reading around 110,000 miles and a reasonable person should expect to find signs of wear and tear.

You never found this car on our website as you said, neither we advertised this car as having a one owner. Before court procedures I have sent you a video footage showing that sales executive told you how many former keepers vehicle had but you still denied that you knew about owners amount before buying a car. After judge watched the footage it was confirmed that you knew about owners amount before purchase.

Not sure how you find out that the mileage has been clocked back. You never provided any evidences or reasonable explanation and this question wasn’t even analysed at the hearing.

As you admitted suffering from mental issues I tried hard to resolve this dispute amicably but I wasn’t successful. I have asked your permission to instruct independent company to do an inspection but you never allowed. Alternately I have asked you to send evidences of the faults but it was never done. Instead of trying to resolve the dispute you have submitted claim to the court. Then you covered around 2000 miles with the car and done an inspection at Land Rover who found some suspension parts being worn.

I have analysed the video with the MOT tester and determined that only one worn part rendering vehicle unroadworthy. It is a split anti roll bar link boot - 50 pounds to repair the issue… As I’m not able to prove that this boot wasn’t split at the point of sale the judge made a decision in your favour. I don’t’ believe it’s fair but the law is the law.

The rest of the imperfections are cosmetic which would not be MOT failure. The oil leak described as a misting of oil. When you saying loads of dents in the chassis there are three dents 1-3cm size underneath the vehicle :) You never used a warranty or contacted our warranty provider so you should not comment that it’s useless.

When people can’t afford or don’t like the vehicle anymore they trying to get out of the car at any cost. Sometimes even doing unbelievable things such as putting bleach in the fuel tank. It’s not common but it’s happening when customer wants to reject the vehicle due to the fault which is not there. You have been lying about the facts from the very beginning, you weren’t provided any inspection reports or any evidences of the faults, you never allowed me to instruct third parties company to inspect the vehicle. Duo to these facts your request to return a vehicle for a full refund wasn’t accepted.

You would need to say a big thanks to your solicitors as they did really good job and found the way how to take you out of the vehicle. Despite of losing a lot of money you won the case, nevertheless you still causing harm to our reputation writing misleading reviews.

Please do not buy used cars anymore as you will cause troubles to other companies and look after yourself especially your mental health.

Thoroughly Professional

Have just sold my Evoke to Carcart via Motorway and have been very impressed by the professionalism of the Carcart team.
We dealt with Tom down at HQ and Steve who came to collect, inspect and approve the purchase offer price.
Very thorough process, great communication throughout and no attempt to haggle on collection. They did exactly as promised so would definitely deal with them again. Thanks Carcart.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

DISHONEST COMPANY, GO ELSEWHERE TO AVOID THE ISSUES IM HAVING

I bought a Land rover discovery from carcart.
3 weeks later, engine management light comes on, exhaust fumes coming into the car and burning oil quickly. After taking the car for diagnostics, turns out that sensors are missing to try cover up these issues, break are bent due to a bodged repair job amongst a lot of other issues.

Carcart refused to allow the land rover garage that I took the car too, make any repairs, as it's 'too expensive'.

I managed to get the car back to carcart where they have done checks and told me there Is no faults with the vehicle, despite me having video evidence and land rover having video evidence of all these faults.
They have not done sufficient investigating to find out where the oil is getting burned from, nor have they bothered looking into why the engine fault light is coming on and off.

Looking back on the MOT history of the vehicle, the MOT has failed 4 times due to this engine management light.

Carcart are refusing a refund me, so my finance company is having to get an independent person to run tests and do a test drive.

All this has been taking weeks to sort out whilst it's costing me a fortune in finance, insurance, tax, loss of earnings, car rental, other travel expenses.

I am now seeking legal advise, and it is looking as though I will be taking carcart to court.

UPDATE:
Currently, the finance company are having to send out an independent inspector. The car has been at the dealership for sometime now, so no doubt they have tried to hide these issues!

Thank you for the outstanding review and feedback however if we had something that wasn't right or being 'dishonest' then we wouldn't be getting a independent inspection carried out on the vehicle as this would then highlight the issues you are stating, which we can say aren't there.
We look forward to getting this report done and we can take next steps from there in regards to this matter.

Do Not Use This Company!!

I purchased a car from this company in the beginning of June 2024, when viewing the vehicle I noticed a vehicle malfunction message on the dashboard which I was told was a battery issue and would be resolved when I came to pick it up. A few days later, I picked up the car and was told the issue had been resolved, I began my journey home and I noticed this warning message and light were still on, I notified the sales person I dealt with and they swiftly put me in contact with the after sales team who got me in to look at the car. They determined this was a completely different issue than the battery and was in fact the brake pump and booked me in to get the repair done. On the day of the repair, after being home for a few hours, I started the car and heard a new knocking sound coming from the engine which was not there before. I know nothing about cars so just thought maybe the new brake pump that was replaced that day just needs warming up so I left it around 2 weeks but unfortunately it still persisted. I contacted after sales again in July, who said to come in, after only around 5 minutes of driving the car round the corner and plugging diagnostics in, they said they couldn’t hear the sound (I had the aftersales lady ‘Marta’ listen to and she agreed there was in her words a knocking sound) and that there was no issue with the car. I felt deflated but I took the word of the mechanic. Now 3 weeks ago I was driving along at 40mph when suddenly the car began to vibrate and shudder heavily, which now happens anytime I accelerate over 30 making the car not fit for purpose. I live around an hour away from Car Cart and unable to use the motorway, I had a trusted mechanic look at my car. In their opinion it appears there’s been on going problems under neath the bonnet which no one managed to get to the bottom of the issue and that there has already been a lot of work done to the car due to many missing screws and bolts. After advice from family with experience in cars and trading, they encouraged me to get back in contact with the company as it sounds that the car was not fit for purpose when I purchased it. Before contacting them, I looked into my rights on citizen advice which states ‘You’re legally entitled to a repair if something goes wrong with the car. Because you bought the car in the last 6 months, the law says it must have been faulty when you bought it. If the trader says the car wasn’t faulty when they sold it to you, it’s their responsibility to prove it.’ CA continues to say if I have already had a repair but ‘the repair hasn't solved the problem or another problem has developed’ then I can ask for my money back. I also had paperwork stating a 100 point check was completed before I made the purchase which highlighted no issues with the vehicle. I can confidently say this check was not carried out as they failed to notice the warning light and also failed to notice that the passenger electric wing mirror was not working nor did its indicator.
With this information in hand a family member call CarCart on my behalf who took our information and said they would look into it. They are now stating that I should’ve stopped driving the car and contacted them, which I did and as stated above got told there was nothing wrong, and that they will not do anything in regard to a refund or repairs, despite us stating the laws clearly highlighted on the Citizens Advice page. I am now in a postion where no local mechanic will touch my car and I will have to go straight to main dealer which will cost a lot of money out of my own pocket.
So, word of warning. Do not buy a car from this company. They do not care about the safety of the vehicles they sell or the safety of customers and are not a law abiding company. And for Car Carts references look up Citizen Advice because you clearly are not following what should be done.

We wish you all the best and hope you get this issue rectified and resolved

Sold a car through motorways which I won’t be using again too much hassle, pain in the rear they was, didn’t stick to there terms but Carcart when they collected obviously want to get cars for a good profit depending on condition, they was honest polite, didn’t pressure you into anything regarding negotiation even though I should of taken a private offer but didn't cause motorways said they’d guarantee more, can’t fault Carcart as they was just buying through motorways but all good in the end, Carcart seemed fair just avoid motorways or do your research before using them 😊

Gives Car Dealers a Bad Name

Carcart delivered a car from an Off Premises sale but the delivery driver did not wait for a decent inspection. Needless to say, there was a reason for this. The car had an incredible noise from the exhaust that the company is refusing to fix as they claim it to be wear and tear.

The car also developed an ABS brake fault within a few miles of driving it. This was repaired under their warranty but I have had to make up a shortfall in what they decided to pay for the repair.

I am now having to return the car at my own expense with a whole range of added extras they are adding to the bill for the privilege of returning a car that is clearly faulty. Do not use this dealership AT ALL!!!!

Edit: The car was returned at my own expense and after standing firm and being sure of my rights regarding being sold a faulty car, I got a refund. It did not need to be this hard unless they expect people to just lump it and put up with service like this.

I am sorry we do not offer lifetime warranty on used vehicles but I'm sure you can appreciate that you have had this for 4 years to which you have been able to use the vehicle. However i may suggest taking this to another garage if they cannot fix the issue you are experiencing with the vehicle instead of putting the blame to ourselves. We wish you all the best in getting your vehicle fix and the issue resolved however we aren't to blame for the fact your mechanic is unable to fix the car due to their own efforts, we haven't broken the car, nor was the car broken when it was sold to you, as you surely wouldn't have had this such a long period of time. I would suggest getting your partner to contact us rather than you leaving a bad review from a purchase you didn't make over 4 years ago.

Bereavement Sale

We sold our late mums car to carcart via Motorway.

The whole process with Motorway and Carcart was smooth. Carcart picked up the car a few days after the auction. We were happy with the price.

The money was in our bank account before they took the car.

At a difficult time for us, both Motorway and Carcart made the process easy, including the person who came to pick up our late mums car.

I would recommend Motorway and Carcart based on our experience.

Impressive

What can I say …. Was very worried about the reviews for carcart but after speaking to cal the sales rep I was pleased with how he handled with the deal and was impressed with his attitude and willingness to help so we went ahead and did the sale on the car as it was a good price and car spec was exactly what we wanted ..
A few issues where brought up when we viewed the car and it was agreed that the work would be carried out at a later dater I was very dubious but we agreed and took the car away
The following day we found a few more issues (oil leak air con issue)
I called up to speak to someone to get it sorted out and I was advised to contact “CAR CART SUPPORT “
In my head I was thinking …here we go this is where I get fobbed of or no reply !!!
HOWEVER I was pleasantly surprised by a swift reply and after a few e-mails back and forth a date was arranged for the car to go back and faults rectified …customer support messaged me every day or two with updated and fast forward two weeks and the car is back and all faults rectified… so all in all I am more then impressed with car cart !!
Excellent service from start to finish

Probably the best service I’ve had from a car dealer …. Thank you all especially MARTA and CAL ….

Avoid

They bid on my car on Motorway then proceeded to invent faults saying the car drove heavy and there was a flywheel issue, I had the car checked independently before selling and everything is mechanically sound, they then offered me £1000 less than what they’d bid. Looking at their 1 star reviews they try this tactic all the time. Avoid like the plague!

Rang carcart numerous times and wasn't interested. Since then the high drive has broken in the car, parking sensors have gone, alternators gone, needed a service a couple of days after I brought it. MOT wasn't done properly was a dodgy one due to the tyres being illegal when brought.Turbo was also leaking and no undertray when brought and now the head unit has gone. Kia sportage 2016

I purchased a car from CARCART. I was told my car had a 21point AA inspection The next day I noticed the air conditioning wasn't working also the steering was out of alignment, if it had had a AA inspection these faults would of been picked up. I phoned the garage to notify of this but failed to answer my calls and ignored messages left.
Then within the 3 month warranty of the car I broke down on the m6 due to clutch failing which turned out was the slave cylinder leaking and also the thermostat housing had failed and no water in the engine.
Total price of repair is £1384.00 warrant only paying £340 garage are not interested and basically said its wear and tear.
I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CARCART AGAIN CAR IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

Hi Mrs Scobbie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We are truly sorry you've had trouble with the car you purchased from us. As we hope you'll appreciate, cars are complex pieces of machinery and there are components, such as the clutch which may wear through time and use.
We note that at the point of raising the issue with us, you've had the vehicle for 3 months and had travelled for nearly 8000 miles. Taking into account this level of use, it's not unexpected that some components may need replacing sooner rather than later. We've spoken with you on several occasions, both by phone and email to try and resolve this issue and assisted you in submitting the warranty claim. Great experience

The pre-sales was smooth and simple (used financing options). The site is details and helpful in walking you through the process.

Contact from the sales team was prompt and efficient once the credit was cleared and with a friendly manner too! Collect dates were booked to suite me and nothing superfluous.

On site collection was pleasant, the yard is tidy and the sales office clean and inviting.

The vehicle was as described and prepared for collection. The sales rep was knowledgeable about the specific vehicle and happy to engage on it as the paperwork was completed.

Overall a brilliant experience and well worth my time!!
