I hired my car out with Carhood Brisbane in early August and I am still waiting for my payment of only $74!!
They received money from who ever hired the car but they do not pay you! I keep emailing and they say they are looking into it each time but nothing happens and they do not answer their phone.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

This is not a trustworthy company, we left our car for them to rent and picked it up in August and still have not been paid. We have chased them up every month and still no payment. They are very good at sweet talking and very apologetic but they are very poor on keeping their promises. Our advice to anyone considering them is to STAY AWAY. We would never use them again and have told all our friends and associates about our experience.

This is not a serious business, they have no respect for customers. I've rented my car with them in April 2018, and they still haven't paid the income I earned, such a scam! Customer service keeps making up excuses but hasn't solved the problem after 8 months. This is completely unacceptable, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

MASSIVE INFRINGEMENT NOTICES from CARHOOD Hired a car in July from Carhood, no problems. Received a speeding ticket to my home address in NZ in November for $174 which I paid thought no more about it then on December 13th I received an email with two infringement notices from Carhood. The original ticket for $174 which I had paid is now $870 and the second ticket which I have never received the original ticket for was a whopping $2175. I cannot get them on the phone and I am still waiting on a response to my email to their support email address. I am so upset and have contacted the Speed Camera police in QLD and am waiting to hear from them. 6 months it has taken Carhood to make any contact regarding these infringements and the MASSIVE cost escalation. How can a ticket go from $174 to $870? NEVER AGAIN will I hire a car from this company.
WORST COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA - DO NOT USE
WORST COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA! I am a huge fan and user of the share economy and was very excited when I found this great concept but will NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone. Had my car booked in to be rented out for almost a month with this company and it was the worst experience I have even had.
1. No one there for car drop off which was booked in within normal hours on a weekday had to book and get our own Uber to the airport, even the Uber driver told us he never picks up anyone happy from there. They don’t ever answer any call you make to their 1300 number.
2. Car was damaged during its only rental mid way through our holiday. We were told that it would be repaired by our collection time. Car was not repaired in time so we were told we would get a car rental from them in the interim. Whilst waiting for our flight home we received an email from their rental centre that our “car rental” had been cancelled. We then arrived at car hood to pick up our rental only to be told that there was no rental car available for us that someone had sent our rental our with another customer!!! After much argument they told us the only available car (in a large warehouse full of cars) was a manual single cab Ute which we had no option but to take due to work commitments. We had to strap our luggage in a rusty, dirty, open Ute tray to drive home.
3. We were then told that our payment would be expedited due to the circumstances of our situation. It is now over 6 weeks later and we have not seen $1!!! Have sent dozens of emails, every phone call to the company goes unanswered or am hung up on.
4. Throughout the entire process every person we came across associated with this company had the worst attitudes and customer service I have ever experienced. Mind you it’s hard enough to get in touch with them as they don’t answer ANY calls or emails ever.
Carhood you have been reported to the ACCC. I honestly believe this place is a complete scam DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Ford you should be ashamed to be associated with such a joke of a place I am actually surprised that I got my car back at all!
Bad payers Beware!!
Love the convenience of being able to use this service for leaving my vehicle at the airport when going away. Unfortunately Carhood is very BAD at paying up for the use of my vehicle. I am still awaiting payment for when I left my vehicle the last two times (before July 2018). Carhood has collected the payment from the person who used my vehicle but I have never been paid even though I have been chasing up payment for the last 8 to 10 weeks. They only owe me around $185 which suggests the company is having MAJOR cash flow issues and should possibly have an Administrator appointed. I am not one to normally take to social media but I think the public should be aware of what this company is up to.

I have listed my car and was rented out for 4 days , but they never paid nor responded to my emails or phone calls . It been over 3 months that i am chasing without any success . Glad my car did not involved any crash or else i would have been pulling my hair to get a response or compensation from this guys . Will definitely stay away in future from this Dodgy company . Great concept but really poorly executed

Unacceptable service, not worth your time…
The service is appalling and their support services are notoriously unresponsive. The drop off at the Sydney site was unattended despite it being 'core' hours. The site operator was not contactable even by Carhood's support team. We took an Uber at our expense to departures. Carhood initially agreed to reimburse but has taken no action and has not replied to any emails since their inital response. It seems many customers online have voiced frustration with similar issues and it seems Carhood is happy to get by without returning customers.
Very Poor Service
Very Poor Service, Cancelled the car one day before the travel and then still getting canned responses from them.
Moreover it was the long weekend, so if I book anything now, its gonna cost me a lot. Whats the use of booking 2 months ago if we get a last minute email saying things are cancelled.

Don't Trust Carhood With Your Car
It is a good business concept, I had been using Carhood when it first started in Sydney, I listed out my car a few times with no major issues (there were some small issues). However, this company offered poor support when things go south. When my car was damaged by Carhood valet driver, there were poor communication and multiple barriers to claim (mainly because the claim is managed by the Melbourne head office, and Sydney operation staff has no control over claims). I am yet to know the claim process one week after the incident happened (zero communication/explanation given as to how to make a claim). There is no direct number to claim team, the staff always refer me back to the generic number 1300466663 which leads me to a support member who doesn't know anything about the claim process.
When someone eventually got in touch (after 1-2 weeks), I was asked to get 3 different quotes to repair the car in my own time so that Carhood can choose the cheapest quote to approve. Some panel beaters had refused to provide a quote knowing they won't be picked due to the price, some panel beaters try to give you lowest quote so that they can get the job. Normally if your car is insured by your own insurance company, you're allowed to choose your own panel beater who deemed to provide good quality service. The whole process, from filing a claim till the panel beater get paid, took about 2 months, not to mention the time, energy and money spent.
I have learned my lesson, concluded that Carhood is an unethical disorganised company. It is not worth the small money earned from the listings, high risk for a small return.

Did not collect me at the airport, had to pay for an Uber, promised the amount would be refunded ASAP.
Three months later still fighting our way through faceless emails to get my refund.
After 6 weeks: still chasing payment, still waiting on off-road investigation, payment owing for extra kms still not recorded. No response. No transparency. Never informed of anything.
Rented my car out twice. First time was ok, but was booked in for me at the wrong time, was not driven to airport (had to catch an uber at my own cost), and also had to chase payment. Car came back very clean though.
Second time around was a joke!
1. Car came back with a lot mud of on the undercarriage, on the side behind the rear wheels (clearly the cleaning effort has gotten worse), with some in the cabin as well: on the headliner, cargo area, upholstery and trims. I also sometimes hear a knocking noise when I brake, something that didn't happen before this rental period. Car also returned with my etag bracket and I wasn't informed, nor a replacement offered. I suspected that my car was taken off-road (against Carhood's terms), and I informed Carhood within the 24 hours limit, and still had to chase up after several days. Was told they will do an investigation and they put a GPS tracker in all vehicles hired out. Was also told they are understaffed at the head office (not a good excuse). This was over a month ago and NEVER heard back from them after several emails. I prefer emails, because it's a written record. They record calls, but will I ever have access to the recordings if I need to refer back to them?
2. Also still chasing payment for my car's rental. Was given a paypal collection credit the first time around so I expected this again, but was not given any paypal collection credit like the first time. Only logged in after several weeks to find a reminder to put my bank details in my account (but received no email about this), still haven't received payment after 6 weeks.
3. Was not told that the hirer of my car purchased extra kilometres (I'm entitled to 25%) and then still went over those kilometres (I'm entitled to 25%). Luckily I recorded my car's odometer before and after I left my car with Carhood and read the Terms about the 200km/day limit and chased them up because they never bothered to inform me. Who knows if they were going to tell me. I doubt it, because my account still doesn't include the hirer-purchased kilometres or the extra kilometres as part of the "planned" payment. Zero payment has been received at time of writing this review.
Pretty lazy if they decide to copy and paste a reply here asking me to contact customer support when I've been doing so already. Are they now only going to follow up with me that I give a 1 star rating and not before? Either customer support is a joke, or management aren't looking after the customer support team. The system is unorganised. Record-keeping is clearly not a priority. And neither is transparency to the customer.
To Carhood: as a customer, we are leaving our valuable assets (cars) under your care, so we should be informed of everything that's going on and not have to chase anything up. However, my latest experience shows that you don't care about us or our vehicles once you get your money. Our satisfaction is what brings repeat business.
As others have said: good idea, but EXTREMELY POOR execution.

A mainly good experience
I really like the idea of Carhood and our experience was mostly positive. We dropped our car off easily and quickly and they organised an Uber (at their expense) to take us to the airport. Our car was nicely detailed and looked after. The staff made sure hirers filled it with premium petrol as that is what it requires as per manufacturer's specifications. Thank you. We only had a hiccup when we returned. Our original information had us returning during their office hours of 6am-11pm, however they had changed their hours since we booked and we had not been informed. We arrived prior to 7am (their new opening time) and could not get a hold of anyone. We called the service centre and they tried numerous times to get a hold of someone to no avail. So we had to wait for over half an hour until they opened to get a hold of someone to come and pick us up. After a long flight we just wanted to go home!! When we got home and I checked my email there was an email there explaining the after-hours collection process (though it did leave me with lots of questions), however it was only sent the night before and it was while we were in the air so there was no chance of me reading it. The young girl at the depot had very poor customer service skills which didn't help either. So I have given it 4 stars based on the stuff up at the end. Otherwise it was good!

Better than the faceless rental companies
I have used Carhood a few times now and it has been a better experience than the standard rental companies. It can be pot luck as to how new a car is but thats part of the experience. Sydneys customer service was awesome after leaving a set of expensive headphone in the car they were returned promptly and without hassle.

Rented my car out with this company. Communication is poor, never answering calls, replying to support emails or chat boxes at all, or in a poor timely manner. Never paid on time, always had to chase the money. As I was travelling abroad, there is no phone number for overseas customers to call. Ended up releasing my car due to such poor service. Am still awaiting my final payment, who knows if I will receive it..

First time using Carhood Brisbane.
This is my 2nd time hiring through Carhood. The first time in Brisbane. The staff have always been so friendly and nice. Both times (in Brisbane and Melbourne) they have taken so long to get me to the airport. The nearest petrol station to the Brisbane office was over 8 minutes drive away. This distance plus the delay in getting to the airport meant I missed my flight. Great price and service though so would definitely use again but allow a lot more time so that I don't miss my flight.
