I had an extremely poor experience with Carry My Luggage
I had an extremely poor experience with Carry My Luggage following a Ryanair baggage delay.
Carry My Luggage removed multiple items from my suitcase — including commercially packaged chocolate, dry pasta, and toothpaste — claiming they were “restricted for unaccompanied travel into the United States.” These items are not prohibited by U.S. Customs or USDA, and no seizure notice, customs reference, or legal authority was ever provided to justify their removal.
Despite this, my property was retained at their UK facility, and I was told I must arrange third-party collection myself to recover it.
When challenged, Carry My Luggage:
Admitted they are not Ryanair and have no visibility over where or why the bag was searched
Claimed the items were removed by “regulatory authorities” while providing no evidence
Took no responsibility for correcting the situation
Referred me back to Ryanair while continuing to hold my belongings
This leaves customers trapped between the airline and its contractor, with no accountability on either side.
If Carry My Luggage has the authority to remove lawful personal items, they should also have the responsibility to:
Clearly identify the legal basis
Provide documentation
Ensure items are delivered, not abandoned in a warehouse
None of that happened.
This experience showed a complete lack of transparency, customer care, and basic ownership of mistakes. I would strongly caution anyone against assuming their belongings will be handled lawfully or responsibly once this company is involved.
